Anyone have an update on Quintero who were supposedly interested in.

Shahram

Believable1 Unbelievable14

He cannot even make the Pescara team. So not much chance of United being interested.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Verrati was also a pescara boy in Serie b until last year and look at how he has turned out so don't judge a book by its cover.

Gundogan was scouted at the final, but no contact made.

Hope Dortmund team doesn't get ripped apart. Quality player

I think he's a fantastic player, would be over the moon if we signed him but honestly can't see it happening.

Thiago deal to be finalised tomorrow. The deal however will not be announced tomorrow. The deal could be announce after the U21 euros. United scouts were watching him tonight.

Farley

Believable29 Unbelievable9

If the deal is to be finalised tonight why would he need to be scouted?the naiveity in this board is an absolute joke!we will be lucky to strengthen this summer with the team in transition and without the master at the helm. realism is needed guys

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love for this to be true, but I don't think he will leave Barca

Agree0 Disagree0

First guy, do you really think United will not buy? If so you're a joke. Second guy, he will.

Farley

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh and it was a website who said United had scouts to watch the young Spanish midfielder.

Carlo Ancelotti will offer Rooney a way out of Manchester United if he takes over as Real Madrid manager but will not consider a swap deal involving forward Cristiano Ronaldo, 28.

Manchester United are planning a shock £25m move to bring Barcelona's former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas, 26, back to the Premier League.

LiamsBiz

Believable24 Unbelievable18

Cesc buy out clause is £175 million and Arsenal are the only EPL team he would play for

Neymar to Barcelona, Thiago to Utd? I'd love to see him at OT.

Believable30 Unbelievable3

Yeah I agree, from what I have seen of Thiago at 18m odd he has to be bargain of the summer for me whoever gets him, hopefully us. Have to say, if Neymar settles in Barca and is half as good as the Brazilians think he is, him and Messi as two of the front three is a scary thought indeed.

if falcao goes to Monaco cavani to real Madrid and lewandowski to Bayern, whom could we go for, for me it would be and i'm surprised his name isn't mentioned, Jackson Martinez.

Believable5 Unbelievable23

If Rooney stays which I think he will, I highly doubt we'd get another world class striker.

De Gea is said to be mortified that Eric Steele has left the coaching staff. He was already saddened by the retirement of SAF. Don't be surprised to see another keeper linked as DDG is very disappointed that two of his biggest influences/supporters are no longer involved in the day to day running of the club.

Believable6 Unbelievable19

You are just putting 1+1 = 2 hey. I think you are lying or just making spurious assumptions. DDG is a very professional footballer. He's already adjusted to life in Manchester. After all SAF isn't completely gone. I think this is a cheap assumption.

Man Utd will sign one of Fabregas, Modric or Felaini, this summer. Priority is with Cesc.

Believable28 Unbelievable30

Bet on cheapest option fellaini

So the papers saying Moyes wants Fellaini and Modric as his first signings, have we really got £50 million to spend on 2 CM without getting a new LB in Baines, winger and possibly a striker?

Believable23 Unbelievable2

Do you really feel the need for a new left back Evra just had one of his better campaigns he will receive a good rest this summer no problem this coming season.
Dylan

Agree1 Disagree1

Again why is there mention of a Left Back? We have 3 left backs at the club already!
I think we will get more of an idea of what the targets will be once there is an outcome with Rooney situation.

melwing28 {Ed004's Note - Because none of them are good enough. Buttner looks decent going forward but is very poor defensively. Evra is losing his legs and refuses to track back and Fabio can't even start for the bottom of table team}

Agree1 Disagree1

Midfield is more important, rather see 2 midfielders signed before anyone else

Agree4 Disagree0

If they got games then maybe they would improve?
Take Evra for example, he was all over the place when he first came to us, but then he became one of the best in the world. Fabio and Buttner could develope their skills just like Rafael did or Evra. No need what so ever to waste at least £15 million on a position that is not a priority.

melwing28

Other players can be signed using the cash from the sales of other players ie nani, young, anderson etc. and who says that the new manager won't be backed with a bigger transfer budget then usual?

G. n. g

Dont want Felliani even though he is a good player don't think he fits. Modric would be a good addition. however £30m odd for Modric or £18m odd for Thiago? Personally Modric has the premiership experience and football experience too and there is always the worry of Barca players coming and going back established a la Fabregas and Pique. but Thiago for the price and more importantly he has Iniesta/Xavi/Fabregas and others blocking his path, potentially though he is up there with those names and is my summer muppet signing (dont see the money being paid for a Ronaldo or Bale) just hope it doesn't end liek so many summers: Moura/Pastore/Sanchez/Benzema/Ronaldhino, we have a strong young squad but let's not forget we have lost Scholes and Ferguson and though we walked the league and were very unlucky in Europe, we are for me though definately a couple of quality signings (if not more dependant on departures) away from Europes elite and personally Felliani isn't the answer I actually would see him being a massive massive flop at our club and that could put pressure on Moyes. felliani NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Hey eds been a long term reader but posted only a few times. I've been reading around the net that United are considering a bid for Fabregas. any truth to this rumor? do we stand a chance to get him?

United for Life {Ed004's Note - Try the search function I think Ed 2 commented awhile back though he isn't about}

Believable19 Unbelievable1

I would choose Fabregas above Thiago personally due to physicality. Barcelona have to decide on who fits better and having bought Neymar you wonder what that would do for Fabregas or Thiago's playing time.
On Fabregas I read on the Arsenal site some weeks ago (so no idea if true) a rumour something along the lines that his girlfriend lives in England with a child from a previous relationship, she is apparently not allowed to take the child permanently out of England. If that was true it may indicate he will have a reason to want to come back to England. He is exactly what we need for midfield although his part in pizza gate did him no favours, saying that SAF is no longer in charge.
Fabregas and Ronaldo, then we would have a team to challenge in Europe. I can dream!

Agree2 Disagree0

Fabragas would be an amazing signing, would love to see him in a united shirt, maybe with neymar joining barca fabragas might be getting the door, I would snap him up as fast as RVP {Ed004's Note - Would we need a defensive midfielder beside him? Not sure him and Carrick would work}

Agree2 Disagree0

If Fabregas or Thiago sign Edd004 we will switch to a midfield three imo. Carrick, Fellaini/Strootman, Fabregas/Thiago with Rvp, Kagawa, Di Maria/Gaitan in a 4-3-3?

REDFAITH {Ed004's Note - Really don't want Fellaini mate. But I reckon we should play 4231 though wondering if we are left a bit too open with Fabregas Kagawa and Carrick in the centre. I remember Fabregas can get stuck in at times}

Agree1 Disagree0

Neither do I Ed004. But I fear we may switch our attentions from Strootman to Fellaini now that Moyes is here. I don't rate Fellaini as a midfielder and there is much better out there for what he would cost.

Carrick does a very good defensive job and I think with a Jones/Strootman alongside him Fabregas and Kagawa would get much needed space to play ahead. I think we will play with just one winger next year.

REDFAITH

Agree0 Disagree0

Believe Carrick is more a less a defensive midfielder, a lot of people would say he's a deep lying playmaker and while he can do that didn't he get the highest amount of interceptions of anyone in the league season before last? While he isn't the most aggressive tackler he's still much better at it that Scholes was haha. IMO Carrick and Fabregas in midfield would work well.

Girlfriend in England with baby? He and his (10 year older) Spanish partner have just had a baby! FFS!
Steve {Ed004's Note - Don't you have to be over a certain age to get married?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Some paper said united prepared a 25m Pnds bid for fabregas.

Agree1 Disagree0

Steve

Child from previous relationship who isn't allowed to leave England. He may have had a baby with her but if she can't go to live in Spain because of the child it would put her in a position where she would have to stay here and what do you think he would do?
I only repeated what was posted on the arsenal page and have no knowledge

The Mirror are reporting that Paul Pogba is a target for Arsenal. Apparently Pogba's unsettled at Juve due to being a target for racists. Anyone surprised?
