anyone know when gibson would be back?

really would rather have him as back up in the centre of the park than carrick.

Believable13 Unbelievable47

Just no

Agree0 Disagree0

Let us hope they manage Gibson's reabilitation very carefully and not rush him back too early. I would pencil in early 2014!! He is garbage.

Shaun

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont want either !

Agree0 Disagree0

Carrick is way better than gibson.i dont say so carrick's trophy cabinet does
UNITEDABHISHEK

Agree0 Disagree0

As much as i think carrick as declined as a player in the last couple of seasons, mainly just lacking any sort of creativity and energy but still, would take him any day over gibson! Honestly don't know why gibson was ever bought.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

I think I'd prefer Debbie Gibson to tog out, Terry, Colin and now Darren are all in the category I would label ''suitable for West Brom''

Agree0 Disagree0

Gibson wasn't bought..he was a youth player and has come through the ranks..i liked him initially..showed promise..i think the pressure got to him..
Rudi

Agree0 Disagree0

You must be metal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Their is nothing wrong with gibson name one bad game he has played in

Agree0 Disagree0

Be easier to name one he has played well in

is ed 007 about? nothing to do with united..

i was talking to my cousin, who is friends with kris commons girlfriend lisa, anyway. she was telling me that when she spoke to his girlfriend she said she is missing her family and would prefer to move back down to nottingham if she could.

what do you make of this?
if she did come back down here do you expect him to follow? {Ed007's Note - I imagine he would. There is something not quite right between him and NL just now. Commons said he wanted to bulk up muscle wise over the summer but he has come back looking like a twin that has ate the other one. He was left out of the squad to face Rangers then said on Twitter he was fit but NL had said he wasn't, he hadn't trained on the Saturday. God only knows what size he will be come January if he doesn't get back in the CFC team.}

Apparently United are showing interest in Barry Bannan, was from caughtoffside.com so perhaps not the most reliable source but i would personnally love to see Bannan at United, really rate him as a player and he's still young and shouldn't be too expensive

Believable12 Unbelievable17

Bannan will cost man utd around £25m.
I doubt McLeish will let him go either.

open training today... and this is the squad..

De Gea, Lindegaard, Evra, Jones, Ferdinand, Fabio, Fletcher, Park, Nani, Anderson, Young, Valencia, Giggs, Carrick, Owen, Berbatov, Welbeck, Macheda and Diouf

if this is the squad for Basle then I am a little disappointed as I would have liked to have seen pogba.. and maybe fryers (bench) included.

either way, we will know by 7:45pm this evening as this is the deadline to add pogba to squad...

oxred.

Believable8 Unbelievable5

Pogba & Fryers will be added, especially Fryers as we are missing Smalling, Vidic & Evans. I think Thorpe may make the squad too, but perhaps not the 18. Tonight's team could be a strange one, it's anyone's guess. Perhaps:

_________Lindegaard

Toni____Jones____Zeki____Evra

__Anders___Carrick___Giggsy

Welbeck____Berbatov____JSPark

De Gea
Ferdinand
Pogba
Fletcher
Nani
Young
Owen

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Tonight's team? The match is tomorrow..
I reckon young will definitely make the starting 11 tomorrow, SAF will give him his CL debut against Basel, i'm sure.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

'Oz'

I always do this mate, I know the game is on tomorrow, but I always write 'tonight'. I think Young may play, but we do have Park, Welbeck, Valencia all for the wings, perhaps Nani & Young will get a half each with Park playing in the middle instead of Anderson? Then a full game each on Saturday for Nani & Young? Whatever happens it will be a unfamiliar line-up. Basel & Norwich are must win games if we want to send a second string to Romania, then we must win tomorrow. We must also beat Norwich to get ourselves back on track too. Giggs, Berbatov, Park, Anderson, Carrick & Owen may get over used in the next couple of games due to them not having any international games, therefore will get a good two week rest.

Perhaps even Carrick may play alongside Jones so we can rest Rio for Saturday?

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Syd,

Point taken about Fryers, even if he does not start we will need cover on the bench.... (you have missed out Fabio although FB and we need CB)

Would like to see:

_________Lindegaard

Toni____Rio____Zeki____Fabio

__Anders___Jones___Pogba

Nani_____Wellbeck_____Young

but this is just the romantic in me......

think the old boys did the job they were asked of in the Benfica game and now it is the time to win and win well..... think the pace of the younger players would do this.... nani and young would cause them problems all day inter-changing with wellbeck in the front 3....

still think your line up is more likely :(

oxred {Ed004's Note - Would love to see that team line up tomorrow night}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed004... does this mean I get your vote for BOSS when AF finally calls it time.... lol

oxred...

also someone (no name) has added that fryers tweeted he was on the coach with the resies to norwich... this will leave us a little short... unless Carrick or Berba (lol) play there.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi guys that was me that posted about Fryers.

Couldn't leave a name as was at work.... {Ed007's Note - You still at work then?? ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Bond i'm always at work shush.... {Ed007's Note - Hayley, is that you?}

Agree0 Disagree0

You wish Bond haha

Agree0 Disagree0

I think people are being a little premature about fryers. one good performance doesn't mean he's going to make the champions league team!

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I would like to see Welbeck playing in front of Berbatov. I think his movement would create a lot of space for him.
Young deserves his CL debut, the big problem is CB, can Rio do 3 games on the bounce?
ajk

Agree0 Disagree0

Pogba looked somewhat out of his depth against Leeds when he came on, can't see Fergie throwing him into this game.
Great potential but perhaps he's not quite ready yet.

the most important thing we can do in january is get rid of berba. Well done for being top scorer last season but that was last season.

Believable18 Unbelievable8

The most important thing you could perhaps do is watch a game.....strikers dont just score you know and Berb is a play-maker who plays very intelligent football, obviously a little too clever for you!

Agree0 Disagree0

I watch the games and if you were right maybe I am not so clever as well.

Berbatov lacks conviction, has no pace and spoils the style of football we play. He has never been able to cope with the intense spotlight and his time at Old Trafford should have been up in the summer.

The fact he is mainly on the bench and only gets a look in when we have catastrophic injuries should tell you he no longer is up to the challenge at our club. If you looked at his attitude in the last two games it should have told you everything you needed to know.

Red Man

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes a poor player he was poor at spurs aswell all he did was goal hang thats not the player we need we need a rooney or a chico upfront which we have both, with welbeck pushin for 1st team and micky owen playin well with youngsters such as cole, king coming through the ranks we dont need berbaflop would rather of paid 35mil for carrol of 50mill for torres
THE HEMMINATOR

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a big fan of Berba but can understand when people feel his style is disruptive to our flow.
However, anyone suggesting that he was a poor player at Spurs is totally crazy. Carrick and Berba were immense playing for Spurs.
He's a great player with bags of talent. Hopefully Sir Alex's decision to hold on to him will pay off as the season progresses.
M.D.

Agree0 Disagree0

The money spent on him would of kept tevez at utd................

Looking forward to watching Shaqiri play against us tomorrow.

DB-Red

Believable15 Unbelievable8

He will not play !!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sadly he has a 2 match ban

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah i was really looking forward to watching him, only to find out that he is still suspended :( bet Fergie is a bit disappointed too! Oh well there is always the second leg, and you never know.. If Basel finish in the top two we could meet them again in the knockout stages.. But i doubt it

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

He is suspended.

Birmingham is seriously considering Man Utd forward Mame Biram Diouf on a short term loan deal -

Believable12 Unbelievable3

He would suit the Birmingham team and get a good run of games. Would be a good move for him IMO. Although I can see United holding onto him until Rooney & Hernandez are fit again before they send him out on loan.
