kagawa strootman and james rodriquez would do for me

rodriquez quality young and more realistic than lucas and hazard and he can play up top

cjwales82

Believable16 Unbelievable6

I'd be happy with Kagawa and Rodriguez to be honest as long as we keep Pogba.

The Moon.

Agree0 Disagree0

Add Clyne and a LB too into it Moon..
1 FB is coming in for sure in the Summer

Shaun

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with The Moon, Kagawa would be and is a realistic signing that would put a huge smile on my face. As for Rodriguez, i think it's about time we added another left footed pacey winger with Giggs probably turning into more of a back up player next year, retiring at the end. Last of all i'd rather keep Pogba than buy in any sort of defensive mid. I hope the rumours are true about Clyne already agreeing to join us in the summer. Don't get me wrong i think Rafael is a great player but to me, Clyne has more potential and seems more mature at a younger age, with a low fee for us to take him off Palace's hands what isn't to like about that?!

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

I have hardly seen anything ov kagawa wot sort of player is he is he steong enuf for the epl and is he wot we need creativity wise?

Agree0 Disagree0

Quick good pass the german leagues hardly soft good gol scoring record in his time in dortmund better than andersson and cleverley and park

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't say he's better than Cleverley, well you can't compare them they're different types of midfielders. Cleverley will be good he just needs a long run in the team. Remember we were donning at the start of the league then Cleverz got injured and our performance as a team dropped dramatically! He really is a good player, give him time! Ed is there not a player profile on Shinji Kagawa? Thought i saw one, half these people don't know who he is!

I've heard balotelli could start on monday, i'm sure i heard mankini say that he would never play again and would be sold. Getting desperate i see.

SteUTD20

Believable15 Unbelievable3

I doubt he getting desperate with kun, teves and dzecko all able to play to

Agree0 Disagree0

Small club, small mentality. Was exactly the same with Tevez until he came back and was there best player again. If SAF had said similar the player would never play for United again!

Given the Guardiola story today, i'm incredibly surprised that Sydney hasn't popped up on here and make a comment. In a sense i do perhaps agree with him, its certainly become more likely now that Guardiola will take a year off, then come and be SAF's assistant in his final year before he takes over. That would be really good actually i think as it would allow the new manager a bit of bedding in time and furthermore it would mean we could have a look at how good a manager for us he would be.

Everyone will criticise me for this like they did Sydney, but i don't honestly think that its too far fetched.

RedDevil19

Believable19 Unbelievable13

I don't think it's far fetched, I just think he'll return to Barcelona when he can be bothered.

I do have an issue though, he feels exhausted after walking 4 seasons. We're in a league that has to compete with City, Chelsea and possibly Arsenal in the future. There will be no walking in the EPL...could he manage it?

The Moon.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think this would be perfect! And its not like hes been there for 4 years try twenty he played for barca for ages and was behind the scene for time! I think he wonts a new challenge a fresh start and wot beta place than OT and a season as
SAFs understudy! Donny red

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sorry, but no way on earth will Pep be an assistant manager for us. Ridiculous!

Whistler

Agree0 Disagree0

Not for me, can't stand him.

Percy

Agree0 Disagree0

Think ur in dream land he has won champions league won Spanish league and cup he won the Spanish treble no other manager has dne that and u think he would be an assistant , stupid thinking

Agree0 Disagree0

He wasn't there for 20 years he bogged of to serie a with brescia for a couple of years, and behind the scenes coaching kids must be so stressful.

Sorry if he can't hack one of the easiest jobs in world football, which lets face it with that squad it is, then he wouldn;t cope in the pressure cooker of a prem title race. As Moon says we're battling City, Chelsea and Arsenal. He only has to face Madrid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not stressfull time for a change and its hardly assistant mangager its for one year and then he has the bigest job in the world! Hes not gna go to s**tty or chelsea look how loyal they are to managers NAAAAT im not saying its gna happen it would just be very good move rome wasnt built in a day you no

Agree0 Disagree0

The pressure and media attention make the barce job very stressful no matter how good the team.

Guardiola did say he would work under fergy but i think this may of been a bit of him playing the humble man.

fergy/guardiola sounds great but would it work they both have there own football philosophy and ideas, is the club big enough for the pair of them.

10 years ago barce made the decision that they would play a certain type of football , they would teach the kids this and the manager would then have to fully buy into it and i think this is why they have promoted from within, but i think they may off missed a trick with marcelo bielsa i would like to think he may have an outside chance for united.
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

They myt hav to differnt philosophys on football im sure they can sort something out between them a mixture of peps and SAF pure quality think of the influence he would have on bringing in toung spanish players that could be intresting

Agree0 Disagree0

This has no logic behind it at all
both managers have their own ideas on players and the type of football they want to play, this wouldn't work at all. Do you remember when Liverpool tried this

melwing28

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather someone who'd likely be here long term like moyes, can't see pep being here for more than a few years

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually forget the last moyes post I'd like to see ole back here

Kagawa would be good signing and considering the transfer fee a real good one.. My only issue where would i play him...

Alongside Cleverley in a midfield of 2.. NO
In AM/SS role that means ROONEY plays as a Striker upfront.. He doesnt fancy that anymore..
on LW - No if we buy Gaitan too( which looks likely)

So Kagawa only plays when Rooney doesnt in AM/SS role.

Shaun

Believable11 Unbelievable5

I do not care what Rooney wants... he should be playing up top.. He would score 35+ a season up top....

Oxred

Agree0 Disagree0

As one of 3 mids with rooney upfront

Agree0 Disagree0

Kagawa can drop deep or play out wide. Just because Rooney plays it doesn't stop Kagawa from changing role slightly. I'd love Kagawa to come in. He is the best midfielder I've seen this season and he'd be perfect for ball retention and moving it quickly. He also takes a mean set-piece. He was everywhere up and down the middle during the times I've watched him play. I'd be ok withAnderson leaving or moving to LB if Kagawa came along with Martinez or M'vila a young hungry striker the same potentially at LB if Needed.

Supasub

Supasub {Ed004's Note - Where has this Anderson playing in Left Back come from. Imo that would never work. He wouldn't have the stamina to get up and down all game and he is as lazy as Evra when it comes to tackling and tracking back}

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Supasub but what makes you say Kagawa is a mean set piece specialist? Don't get me wrong he'd be a fantastic signing and i have my fingers crossed that it does happen but i don't think i can agree with you on that one! As for Anderson at LB? i don't think so he's never really been one to make clean tackle, rather just bundles into the player to get the ball! If we got Kagawa he'd play behind Rooney and in between Nani and Valencia with Cleverley and ideally Pogba behind keeping possession. You'd often find when watching Dortmund that Kagawa is often one of their furthest players forward in counter attacks almost alongside Lewandolski.. Acting as a striker as it were. This would mean that Rooney still has the ability to drop slightly further back get involved in build up play and let Kagawa do what he does best which is find little pockets of space, either make a clever pass or use his agility to get around someone/into a space to shoot or make a pass. Make sense?

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Ozwald mate

That what i was thinking.. Plus it will make our counter attacks really fast and flowing on the pitch with Cleverley , Kagawa , Valencia , Nani and Rooney attacking...

Plus 1 more thing if Rooney loses the ball on a counter Cleverley tries to go back and help team defend and can tackle to get the ball back which was pretty evident..

Now the other question arises where does this leave Welbeck and Hernandez..? I dont think this would please them but on the other hand we wont have to buy an established Striker.. A young one maybe..

Shaun

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Hernandez knows that he's only really gifted when it comes to finishing which is why he's content with a super sub role just like Solskjaer. Welbeck still will get a lot of playing time, everyone knows how SAF likes to have a big squad and rotates the team often. Also Danny is only 21 so plenty of years ahead to improve. Dortmund are a clever team, especially when it comes to counter attacking. He's learnt some good football there, could be a fantastic signing.

I said before and will again that hopefully this summer we bring in 4 new signings. The 4 to come in would be.
Lb- cissokho, alba, schmelzer,
Cm- kagawa, strootman, witsel,
Cam/winger- hazard, gaitan, muniain
St- llorente, van wolfswinkel, cavani.

I think these players are all get able apart from maybe cavani. My choice of four would be llorente, muniain, kagawa and cissokho. I say llorente but I would really like united to sign benzema he is young quick and good link up and a good finisher. I know there is no chance of that but benzema n rooney upfront would be frightening.

Like to know what you think.

Believable12 Unbelievable8

Why sign cissokho or alba when we could sign a very good proved PL player in Baines .. if the money is right everton will surely sell to balance the books, we could even loan a player to the team or maybe include de laet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Alba - Cissokho
Martinez - M'Vila
Eriksen - Gotze
Hazard - Muncian

These would be my 1st and 2nd choices if we were to sign 4...
Never think we will get all of them or even 3 but I would be happy with 1 of the 1st choice set and a lb....

oxred

Oxred

Agree0 Disagree0

U do no alba is a center mid / left winger dnt u ? ,, he only got put lb for tht game

Agree0 Disagree0

He plays left back most games including thursday night

Agree0 Disagree0

You're certainly edging your bets "my four players would be" ...and then you name 12

Agree0 Disagree0

1 from each position

Agree0 Disagree0

Eriksen before gotze?? you must be high
duggo {Ed004's Note - I would pick Eriksen as well because he suits our style more and easier to obtain imo}

Sky Sports reporting Kagawa has a contract offer from manchester united on the table. The story has been regurgitated from the story on the German paper Bild, but in anycase is fantastic news if it is true.

On twitter the big rumour is city have all but signed hazard
Sorry for the bad news

Believable5 Unbelievable39

According to twitter we had 100% done deal singed Sneijder and Nasri, you cannot trust anything that's put on there.

Anon

Agree0 Disagree0

Isnt this exactly the same thing that was said earlier this week but about United having signed him? Don't believe everything you read, let's just wait for the window to open!

Starting to find the Hazard saga more annoying than the Sneijder one! ¬_¬

A twit did obviously and probably the same one who put it on here clearly a city fan seeing as there is a little match on monday lol

Apparently Kagawa has been given an ultimatum by the Dortmund board, if he doesn't sign by monday he's gone in the summer.

Bild is saying that we've got a contract offer ready and made contact with his agent or something, can't find the article. Any of the eds know this to be true?

Sanshine {Ed002's Note - That would of course be tapping up. If Manchester United wish to buy Kagawa and make a contract offer they need to approach Dortmund.}

Believable7 Unbelievable1

I re-read the article and I think what the story is TRYING to say is that we have confirmed our interest in him, they've told him sign the contract by monday or we will be selling you. People are just plucking numbers for the price at £10-15m but tbh for someone they bought for 350k two years ago, they will be happy with £7-9m with add ons if you ask me!

Sanshine

Agree0 Disagree0

I imagine that he will be available for around 15m euros, perhaps a little less due to his contract running out in 2013. Still definitely worth a bid of £10m-£12m. He has already made it clear he would sign for us.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Definitely does seem like the type of transfer we'd make. Relatively low profile compared to others! Short time let on contract so like Sydney said a lower fee could be achieved from that. Also the fact he said joining Man United "would be a dream come true" would only spur SAF on surely? Obviously we, who have seen him play know he's a talented player! Another smaller point to make is if Park is on his way out, then it'd be ideal to keep our market in Asia buy adding another Asian player to our ranks?! I'm sure all these points would be taken into consideration by United's board + Management!

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't really get this thing with buying players for marketing.
United are, arguably, the biggest club in the world.
We sell shirts hand over fist, whoever is wearing them.
I just can't see Fergie even considering how many shirts a player might sell when he's assessing who would be good for the team. {Ed002's Note - You are confused about shirt sales - Manchester United do not get paid when a shirt is sold unless it is through the club itself, where they get the merchants cut. If you buy a shirt from elsewhere MUFC get nothing at all.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think buying Kagawa would make the people at Nike a tad happier for when the new Nike deal is negotiated. Which will be a monster contract by the way. Buying Kagawa could open up new revenue streams in Japan. Park is the main reason we have the Kumho Tyres sponsorship from South Korea. I do believe Japan is an area of the world where we do not have any sponsorship deals from, nor do we have telecommunication deals with either. There is certainly room for expansion there and someone like Kagawa could help.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Merchandise not shirts No namer! It would basically just bring more popularity in that part of the world, which in turn which would increase merchandise sales.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually, im not at all confused.
Do you really think that Fergie weighs up whether a player can shift shirts/merchandise?
Sure that's really high on his list of player attributes....
"Is he any good?"
"Naah, but he'll sell United Mugs and calenders like nobodies business"
"Perfect, Sign him up!"

Honestly.

Also, my name is not "No Name"....I name everything i submit. Just doesn't get added for some reason. {Ed007's Note - Put your name at the bottom of your post mate, not in the field where it asks for a name on the submitting form.}

Rumour on FB that Alves is to be offered to united this summer dunno if it's worth believing but be a cracking player rb or rm

Believable5 Unbelievable22

I'm not sure, he's weak defensively and i can't satnd his diving. However as an attacking threat there is no one better. If we got him for a decent price and on a decent wage. it would be a good signing, doubt it will happen though.

JJR

Agree0 Disagree0

No thank you.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

The only Barcelona players i would take would be Messi - who wouldn't? Or Xavi - closest thing to Scholesy but 5 years younger.

I have a feeling Barca are trying to sell a few players such as Alves but the asking price would be unreasonable. Not to mention the fact i wouldn't want him anywhere near OT.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

So Ozwald, you wouldn't be interested in Iniesta, Fabregas, Alexis Sanchez or David Villa? hhhmmmmm...

Agree0 Disagree0

^^ Fabregas, Sanchez, Iniesta lol but yh i wouldn't want alves either, wouldn'y have anywhere near the freedom to play he gets at barca.

Gpot7

Agree0 Disagree0

You would only take TWO players from the Barcelona team Ozwald...really?? Without naming several, the obvious one is Iniesta, you wouldnt have Iniesta at Utd seriously? Come on!
Would personally agree with you on Alves though, great player going forward, decent defensively but just something about his complaining, diving etc is just irritating to say the elast

Reports going around that evans hasn't trainned all week!! He might be injured and unable to play in the derby! - hope not! Smalling hasnt played in months and jones has been poor recently when he played!

Believable8 Unbelievable7

I wouldn't be too worried at all. Smalling is more than capable to step in and Evans has been having a slight wobble in the past two weeks. Jones at RB, Smalling & Rio in the middle & Evra at LB.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Was gonna say i'd prefer an inform Smalling over an inform Evans.. Not saying Smalling is inform at the moment obviously missing a lot of games but i think he's a better defender than Evans, much better in the air. Also tends to make cleaner tackles!

Why hasn't Smalling played in so long? Can't still be to do with concussion?
