For everyone going on about pogba not being in the squad for champ league i even read one poster say yesterday he would probably be added to the serrd uad for tonight, well the fact is the rules regarding the b squad state the player has to be registered for two uninterupted years at the club which in pauls case is october 9th when he may be added go the champion league squad, hope that helps

i think SAF is putting all the young players in too soon.
also ashley young should play on the right, his left foot is poor, and he is too predictable.jones lacks experience and thinks he's a striker.

Believable10 Unbelievable54

Okay, it sounds like you're angry and with the performance tonight i'm not too pleased either but you are still a united fan right?!? don't say anything bad about jones, his overall match performance in every game he's played has been faultless although he's gotta learn going forward in european football.. is very dangerous! Young is best on the left, tbh it was always going to be a difficult game and with the stupid ref getting in the way as much as he did and making late/wrong calls too.. We did alright.

The one player who let me down this evening was Fabio, great at going forward but he gets far too carried away and while he's playing at RB his defensive duties should have been a priority but they weren't! Can't wait for the return of smalling at RB, on a european stage i know he'll do well!

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Jones hasnt been faultless pal he gets sucked in too easy. the lad has alot to learn rio looks s**te now tbh and if you notice its never his fault.........

Agree0 Disagree0

Jones has been outstanding all season, evra was the one at fault. he gave the ball away for tjhe 3 goals, jones had to come across to cover for evra. and hence left the middle exposed. evra played like he had is boots on the wrong feet at times. personally i dont think he is captain material and not a leader. we lacked leadership at times in the second half.

Agree0 Disagree0

I couldn't agree more about Evra, for a few years now I think he has had it easy due to lack of competition in his position and he hasn't performed anywhere near to his capabilities. Last night he was dreadful. Totally agree with the stance on the captaincy as well. Should have gone to Giggs

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Ferguson is to blame, many people said on here we had not purchased enough/the right players in the summer and last night was a prime example. Poor in the middle of the park, Wellbeck got 2 but is just never in the box. Evra is poor this season, but who is back Evans!! This could easily be the sign of things to come i am affraid!

Agree0 Disagree0

Basically united fielded a team that ridiculed the opposition by saying we can beat you with this team...in europe no team is crap at that level..ferguson got it wrong...mega wrong..

Agree0 Disagree0

DEFENCE: Ferdinand is too laxedasical (spelling?!) and not the same player he was, evra and fabio will leave us exposed all day long, Jones made a couple of errors but lets be honest he is class, and still very young

I think once Vidic, Smalling and Rafael are back our defence will be solid once more...I can see Jones and Vidic as a solid yet exciting prospect at CB

For now we must hope we can get through the next few games unscathed in terms of our defence, until the others are fit again

MIDFIELD: It has already been clear this season that we are lacking a real presence in CM, in terms of creativity and ball retention

Im afraid SAF must be laid to blame at this one, for we didnt sign a talented CM again in the summer. poor business IMO

Last night we lost the ball time and time again in the middle of the park, inviting pressure onto our frail defence. I mean relying on Carrick?! Seriously?

Hurry back Cleverly I say!

UP FRONT: We have plenty of strength in depth. But when Rooney is missing we are far from the same team :( Thats when we really get to see how bad a decision it was not to sign a creative midfielder.

Wellbeck is promising but I dont see him as an out and out striker, with him up front alone it was always going to be a struggle to test their keeper regularly. Well done for scoring 2 good goals though

CONCLUSION: We played poorly last night, in terms of midfield and defence particularly, and that cost us

But we still saved an important point (OK OK so 3 points would have been better but we should still qualify comfortably from this group)

So we must have faith, SAF rarely fails us, and certainly hasn't in the PL so far this year!

Fingers crossed then for the next few games (in terms of defence)...and for our injured players to get fit soon!

All going well on those fronts we will surely be there or there abouts come next May, winning at least the PL hopefully...making the fans happy again?

Agree0 Disagree0

Young has been class on the left so cannot agree with you there

Moreover, Nani has been class on the right, so wheres the sense in changing things round on the wings?

Jones does lack experience, but is already a great player. The experience will come, and when Vidic is back as a partner he will flourish even more so then he has already

We do lack creativity anf influence in midfield however

We also lack defensive ability and composure at FB

Agree0 Disagree0

De gea smalling jones cleverly welbeck are more than ready for 1st team young is a great winger and whats wrong with a cb that pushes up at has a few shots? means we got an extra attacker on the pitch just chill out relax and watch alex work his miracles yes you seem angry with the defeat but no offence you do not have the experiance or the abilites of alex if your a true fan have faith in the team

Rafael is playing?!?!?!?!

Believable3 Unbelievable18

I don't know, apparently there's another lad in the squad that looks kinda like him.

Funny fella! Rafael was in the squad news on BBC and on the team sheet on FB.

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny aint you. Well according to BBCs line up he was playing. But now it seems Fabio's name is also down, there mistake not mine.

Agree0 Disagree0

Am sure the Beeb meant Fabio... expecting a correction anytime now!

Ed when will Vidic, Wayne "The Fantastic" Rooney, Chicarito, Rafael & Cleverly return? {Ed007's Note - There is no date for Vidic's comeback and the Wee Pea is just a precaution. The expected returns are Rooney: 23rd October, Rafael: 11th November and Cleverly: 15th October.}

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Hi ED007.... I hope Rooney's return is before then as this would mean he would then miss the Pool game....

oxred {Ed007's Note - I hope so too mate but AF has said he could be out for a few weeks.}

Agree0 Disagree0

'oxred'

There is absolutely zero chance that Rooney will be out til the 23rd October, even though 'physio room' has him out until then. Rooney done some light jogging yesterday and there would be no chance of that if he was out for a few weeks. He could play against Norwich, but I expect he will be kept out as a precaution. It's so easy to turn a tight hamstring injury into a pulled hamstring injury and SAF would be foolish to risk that. I think his next game will be against Montenegro and he will play against Liverpool if he comes through the England game unscathed. Cleverley will be back for the Liverpool game, there is a very good chance Vidic will be back and Hernandez & Smalling will certainly return. Only Rafael & fresh injuries that occur between now and the 15th could miss the Liverpool game.

It would be nice to face Liverpool fully fit.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Looking forward to the return of Cleverley, we need him back! I'm slightly worried that quite a few players could be set to make a comeback against loserpool because it'll be a physical match, they're all dirty players and with the addition of c*****e facking a**m.. we better have some mail armor at the ready..

Ozwald {Ed007's Note -

Agree0 Disagree0

Rafael is playing tonight, so seems your all wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed. tonights team proves that the physio room hasn't got a clue! Rafael starts!

Agree0 Disagree0

Roons birthday as he comes back. Added bonus to get the birthday goal..

will sniejder be coming to manutd January transfer?

kelvin

Believable6 Unbelievable52

We do not buy in january unless its a youngster
THE HEMMINATOR

Agree0 Disagree0

The hemminator, you know we TRIED signing ashley young in january and he's 26, a year younger than sneijder so... ? lol

Not saying i think sneijder's gonna join in jan, pointless talking about him anymore ha! bad times

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it just me or are things a bit quiet since wesley brown left old trafford? United are better with a Wesley in the squad, we need more wesleys - of any type really - even wesley presley would be alright

Agree0 Disagree0

Ozwald we did try to sign ashley young back in january we agreed a deal for the end of the season in june hence the summer not january, he did not move to us in january and the reason we dont sign in january is because players who we sign will generally be cup tied in europe but villa wernt in europe anyway did ashley sign for us in january? no he did not you have just been herminated
THE HEMMINATOR

Agree0 Disagree0

Who cares!!!!
Let's build with those who want to play for us. As Fergie said on BBC last night, the four England U21's live next to each other & are great mates. Team spirit, togetherness, leave the ridiculous wages to Citeh.
