If Dembele is on his way to Spurs for £15million we really have let another one slip away. He was outstanding against us last weekend and ran the show for Fulham and would definetly add some much needed strength and creativity in the centre of the park. Personally think we are making a huge mistake not bringing him him. Fair play to Tottenham though, cracking replacement for Modric. Not a bad deal. £33million for him and replace him with Dembele!

If true I cannot believe Fergie has let this lad slip through his fingertips! Maybe he wanted to stay in London? £15m represents real value in today's market. Gutted!
Problem is we need to off-load and no one wants Berbatov, Macheda or Anderson!
Personally I think he is so suited to us I'd allow Berbatov and/or Macheda go for nominal fees to free up a squad place.
I think we'll regret not getting him.
Stockie

Stockie, it's not no-one wanting him, Ando isn't up for sale, SAF has been perfectly clear on the fact that Ando is getting anotherchance, and only alittle less clear that it's hislast chance.
If he can't start performing more consistently this season he will be sold, but not yet.

some-one posted the other day that fabio would not make it and was not even playing for QPR.
well after tonight that will be 270 mins played out of 270 min available.....
think he is going to come on leaps and bonds this season and be ready to challenge for 1st team place next year....
Believable19

Absolutely! He has the level headedness that i wish hi brother shared. Perhaps the only difference is the fact that he is having to wait a bit longer to push his competition aside. Frankly, I see Evra as a far greater liability than Fabio. I think we will be getting a very well-rounded player back to us.

Darren Fletcher captained the youngsters to the opening-day win against the Potters and his professional attitude shone through again as he continues to bid for a return to the first team.
"It was great for 'Fletch' and I thought he did really well in the game," added Joyce. "He did his job and Stoke's older players were in the areas of the field he was operating in so it must've been great for him to come through 90 minutes like that.
"He's a good example for everybody because he treats the games as if they are first-team matches."

Can anyone please explain did the rooney leaving thing all start from? i remember SAF saying abou some player who doesnt love the club anymore but rooney? seriously guys?
sell rooney and nani, and then what? probably the two players along with vidic who can fit into any starting 11 on the world are being sold? SAF is no fool. please unless either of the two parties make a statement do not make rubbish up!
Believable11

Nani would net get into any starting 11. He doesn't get into ours with Valencia there and I dont think he would get into the top 3 English clubs first 11 (Chelsea, city or Arsenal). Neither would he get into real or barcas 11. Technically good enough but that doesnt mean he is good enough!
Dan

He has tweeted today about being gutted about being out for a while but his leg will be ok,
You wouldn't think he'd be updating fans about his injury if he was all set to leave.and before anyone says it he wouldn't need to update any potential new club that's what his agent is for.
Agree0
Disagree0
Rumours in The S*n. And Rooney talent wise would get in pretty much any starting eleven, would he on his form of the recent times though? He should do, I think a warning to him is a good thing as he should be world class 8 out of 10 game slike Messi and Ronaldo, he isnt though bar one seasopason. Sell him, no I agree that sounds ridiculous though. But Nani would walk into any starting eleven, he is a talented player but do me a favour

AJH

I don't know specifically but I note that Neil Cuntis of The S*n has started to peddle a line that basically suggests that there is a big row between SAF and Rooney arising out of his being a non-starter at Fulham. I don't know if anyone else can help out but I have a general idea that Custis is an anti-United writer in general? I might be wrong there but for some reason that's what rings a bell somewhere.

A fit and interested Rooney is world class but at the moment his first touch and match fitness look decidedly suspect. Unsure about his "refuelling" habits but SAF needs to apply his best motivational techniques to ensure a potentially fantastic partnership with RVP actually materialises.
Paulo
Agree0
Disagree0
Honestly I would love to see RVP and Rooney but at the same time Kagawa has shown that he could be just as effective as even Rooney! Expect a lot of goals from Kagawa in the coming games and I might even go as far as to say people wont be missing Rooney a huge amount.
Dan
Agree0
Disagree0
I hit disagree on this because of what was mentioned on Nani. He would not even start at Spurs for cyring out loud, never mind any starting 11. I'm just gutted that the penny has dropped with SAF about Nani a bit too late, I worry its too late to shift him. I'm so sick of him constantly ruining a promising attack with a ridiculous shot or a woeful cross, hell I'd even PAY a club to take him from us. The 1/10 games he is good in is not worth his wages.
Agree0

Nani is best attacking player that we have, if we were to sell him we would have to get ronnie back to compensate and that isnt gonna happen. Muppets. I would rather sell Rooney, at least nani wants to play for us.

I live in russia, according to russian press, nani is on the way to zenit. There are several issues
1) Nani wants 5 mil from his transfer , it means zenit should agree to spend more than 25 mil , the originally agreed to spend
2) zenit is about to buy hulk from porto f0r 50 mil euros, so maybe they are waiting to introduce both players/
THis the infromation we have here in russia, but it looks as if everything is agreed , the only issue is this 5 mil nani wants

Whilst in Great Britain yesterday most of us moaned about the Bank Holiday weather and what a waste of a day off it had been, Jorge Mendes was at work in Amsterdam discussing the future of Luis Nani.
Nani was left out of the Manchester United squad at the weekend and there were rumours he stormed away from Old Trafford as a result of his omission. Links with Zenit St Petersburg have been growing over the past month and the club themselves confirmed that Nani was one of the options they were looking at in terms of bringing in top talent.
A newspaper in Portugal claims that Jorge Mendes met with representatives from Zenit in Amsterdam yesterday with the aim being to reach an agreement between both parties for any financial package which would be available to Nani. All that would then be left to confirm a transfer is the rather large issue of Manchester United agreeing to his exit and then, perhaps more difficultly, an acceptable fee.
Luis Nani is one of Manchester United's most talented players but he can be frustrating. He's been trying to agree a new contract with the club, without success, and it could be that Sir Alex Ferguson was referring to him when he said in his programme notes that players who look at other clubs whilst they're at United will be helped out of the door.
There's not much in Russia on this, apart from reporting what the Portuguese press have said, but if Mendes was in Amsterdam discussing Nani then a transfer would certainly look to be a very serious option.

On a more serious/technical note, can any Ed's/Anyone confirm that now when assessing a youth player club's now take a measurement of somewhere around the wrist of a person which can determine if someone will have steady growth or say rapid young growth early on which would result in someone peaking too early physically and having a shorter career. I heard from a scout/agent a few months ago that it's a new way of determining getting younger/youth players and decision making on their suitability and potential career length (almost like a football life expectancy measurement if that makes sense, and come on Rooney can pass for someone mid to late thirties). Rooney could be an example of someone who's grown too quickly and with potenially a shorter career. Please don't completely shoot me down, it's just what I've heard from someone in the business.
Supasub {Ed001's Note - a lot depends on the club, some clubs have very lax medicals, others have extremely stringent ones. I am trying to find out about the wrist measurement/growth connection you are talking about. As far as I can remember, having been talked through this recently by a doctor for a Prem club, they measured the wrist in order to get an idea of the amount of body fat. They do measure things like muscle length, joints etc, but I don't remember him mentioning it as being anything to do with that. I will try and get hold of him again, I can't promise anything though, I am not sure if he was given the ok to talk about the medicals or not!}

So Spurs are showing genuine interest in Dembele and M'Vila. Anyone else disappointed at their signings of high calibre players at 'mid-range' prices that we later became interested in at top dollar- Berba, Carrick, Modric?
Should Fergie step up and step in for one of these guys, or will we end up regretting it if and when their price tags shoot up?
Things are looking as good as they have for us since Ronaldo left, but most of us know what the one missing link STILL is.
