Anyone know what is happening with Davide Petrucci, 22 years of age and no where near breaking in to the first team?

He was injured for a large part of the season. Forget his age. He has missed over two years with serious injury. Think of him as a 19/20 year old.

Promising player but his development has been highly impacted by a number of injuries. Last season he went on loan for the 1st time I believe (at a relatively old age) and what happened, you guessed it, he got injured.

I really feel for the lad, hope he can stay fit in the future but I think his chances of breaking into our team may be very low now just due to the above.

It's hard to see a future for him with Powell and Januzaj here. I think he'll go on loan to Italy or be sold there before the end of the window.

007, from 17-19 Petrucci's development was put on hold. You cannot progress when you are not playing football.

Too many injuries have not helped

I haven't literally knocked two years off of his age. If I had that power I would knock 15 years off of Giggs, Scholes, Keane, Irwin and ten years off Rooney's age ;)

I meant in terms of development, he is more like a 19/20 year old than a 21/22 year old because he has missed two years of development and has been playing catch up.

Agree J-stand, anyone know why Nick Powell isn't on tour

Players develop rapidly when the are teenagers. after about 21 its much more mental development. if you miss years thru injury then you miss the years, its as simple as that. he will do well to make it at utd from here

J-stand, Powell had surgery a few month's ago and is recovering from it.

Cheers Sydney! I actually heard that from a woman in a pub in Crewe!. I actually didn't believe her as it was one of those ' a friend of mine whose sister knows the brother of. etc etc' perhaps I should! Good player though.

according to the Sunday Express, CESC FABREGAS has agreed to join Manchester United following a secret meeting between the Barcelona star's agent Darren Dein and Old Trafford chief executive Ed Woodward. App a deal could be on if cesc tells barcahe wantsout. food for thought

I read the same thing and took it with a pinch of salt. I don't know how it can be a secret meeting if its in a national newspaper.

So utd held a secret, ILLEGAL meeting with fab? No. He isn't for sale, and he certainly wouldn't go to utd. Also, don't trust the express.

So he had a meeting apparently but then will only happen if he tells Barca he wants out. Surely he'd told them this before having an apparent meeting lol

Meeting with an agent of a player is not illegal. Meeting with the player himself is.

Dein isn't fabregas's agent and hasn't been for 2year. Guadiolas brother is he agent

Daily Express reporting that Fabregas has said yes to a move to United after a secret meeting between Woodward and his agent and it all depends on Fabregas making bis desire to leave public.

The express a rag I wouldn't wipe mine with as I might get my ring dirty, don't believe a word of it, also the club under moyes is about to get a shock.

he is not going to cut it, the self proclaimed biggest club in the world go looking for a manager and end up with a man who has no pedigree, trophy's or shown any ability to buy or manage big ego's.

if being Scottish and a little angry looking makes you a good manager then your going to be fine but if you require ability your screwed.

I look forward to watching the crumbling of an era.

Big mistake replacing the manager and chief exec at the same time. Should have asked Gill to stay on one more year for a staggered transition.

United need to put down a marker and sign someone big. It would be a show of intent to the rest of the league, their peers in Europe and most of all the other players. Look at Munich's midfield and ask yourself honestly can we match that? The truth is no.

United will challenge for the league but we're 2-3 players off winning the CL and when you talk about being biggest club in the world that's not good enough.

First time poster long time reader, just want to thank the eds for a great job they do here! According to the express, fabregas has agreed to join us. Don't really believe it though.

Not saying I 100% believe just what it says.

Word on the net is that verrattis agent has said he does want to leave psg after failing to agree a new contract. Don't know how reliable this is but if its true I hope we would be interested.
