Reports coming out of Spain that Madrid have given up on De Gea, for now at least, and are going to wait until next year which means we have a year to persuade him to sign a new contract.
Hopefully the fact that Madrid have given up this year might help sway De Gea into signing a new contract with a release clause, which apparently we have proposed to ensure we don't get ripped off by Madrid.

All rumours coming out of Spain are being put there by madrid as a negotiation tactic, I wouldn't believe a word, if madrid want a player they get him, they don't give up. Any means necessary.

I'd rather let him leave for nothing next year than sell for less than 33million. He's been worth every penny we spent on him and would be worth at least 10 million just to play one more season for us!!!

29 Jun 2015 09:55:29
Why 33 pep, bit precise that?

29 Jun 2015 14:56:54
33? 1 million for every player we are buying this summer obviously ;)

29 Jun 2015 16:32:57
Haha we could get Ronaldo back if we got a million for every player we are signing this summer!

Ronaldo has become a commercial wh'''re.

Can someone please tell me this Cavani Rumours are not true, specially one saying ADM swapping. please

28 Jun 2015 18:33:57
i would be surprised to see ADM leave .

I wouldn't mind Cavani for the right price but he will be more than likely overpriced

You'll never get a straight swap with 2 stars as long as you've got a hole in your bum. I can't understand these lazy journo's.

I think if this rumour was true from the press (I don't believe it by the way) Cavani would have the same issue he has at PSG in that he wouldn't be played as the main striker. All signs so far point to a 433/451 formation with the 2 wide men supporting Rooney.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Jun 2015 20:55:45
I don't rate Cavani, frankly except for zaltan I don't rate any striker that went to France for money got bored and want to leave, they all not same players no more

The deal would certainly suit us. With no cash changing hands there won't be a figure for just how much we wasted on Di Maria (Ie, if we sold him for £40m we'd have blown £20m).

If he wants to leave - let him go.

There's no way that Cavani is worth the £60m that we paid for Di Maria; but conversely - there's no way that Di Maria was worth the £60m that we paid for him. I'd value them both somewhere around the £40m mark - and with that in mind it wouldn't be a bad deal for either club. There's no way that Cavani could do any worse for us than Di Maria did last season.

Don't see it happening though, mind.

Agree3 Disagree2

28 Jun 2015 23:16:51
Di maria will come good again next season, United fans on here seem to forget how well he played when he first came, he'll get back to that if lvg gives him some confidence

I don't recall a good ninety minutes that he played in a red shirt, Pepgiggs. There were a few flashes of brilliance here and there but for the most part he was terrible. Even in games where he did something of note there were plenty of times in the same game where he misplaced a pass or gave the ball away needlessly. I recall at least two of his assists in the early part of the season being incredibly poor shots that were going wide (to the point where they would probably have gone for throw ins). That they both happened to fall for Mata doesn't make the initial shot any less abysmal. One of his goals was a freekick that missed all of our players and wrong-footed the keeper. The only moment of real quality I can point to is the goal against Leicester - but one great moment against a poor team in a game that we ultimately lost is a lot less than I would expect from a £10m signing - let alone a £60m signing!

For 60 million it is like buying into a ponzi scheme by your broker.

So the stories I am hearing today say that we was never actually interested in Schweinsteiger and that our actual real target for creating our new centre midfield next season is Jack Wilshere. The clubs are basically just waiting for Vidal to sign for Arsenal after the Copa America to then free up Wilshere to join us in a 30 million deal. If he can remain fit i think Wilshere and Herrera with Schneiderlin behind would be a great midfield, allowing Di Maria, Depay and Rooney to run riot in a front 3.
The club will then turn their attention to defence and have earmarked Stones as a possible target if nothing comes of the Otamendi/Ramos negotiations.

I've been saying for a while we should try to get Wilshere! Makes sense if we are allowing vidal to join arsenal for such a low fee

Well, for this summer this is the most ridiculous thing I've heard. Not saying it couldn't happen, but it comes like a thunder out of nowhere. Cheers!

28 Jun 2015 16:49:30
He cannot remain fit, it would be a stupid move on our part. He's always in pictures smoking etc, not good for us.

Injury problems may well be over now but I agree, it's a risk! But he's young, English, and very very good!!!!!!if we can get him it would be a fantastic signing

28 Jun 2015 17:33:08
Why would be sign a professional hospital patient who sometimes plays footy on the odd occasion?

Agree4 Disagree0

28 Jun 2015 17:50:08
So say he has fully recovered from his ankle problems, he walks into any team when fit and on form! Oh and like I said, he's young and English!!!! Why would you not want a fit jack wilshere?

28 Jun 2015 18:00:26
I don't think he is the type of all round person that LVG likes. I would sign him, but would be surprised.

Agree1 Disagree5

28 Jun 2015 18:34:57
I think lvg would love Wilshere, however he wants to stay at arsenal and unless arsenal made it clear they would sell and wenger would never do that! If they do get vidal they would definitely need to sell someone! Either Wilshere, ozil, Ramsey, carzorla wouldn't be getting in the team

Agree0 Disagree6

28 Jun 2015 18:37:34
I don't believe it, however if true we would be able to spread the workload out over a number of players. Also Lvg may have faith in his fitness team to sort the injuries out.
I like Wiltshire, and for the right money would be a good buy.
Also. thus is what this page is all about. now If someone has spotted Sneider in the traffOrd centre all will be well again.

"If we are allowing Vidal to join arsenal for such a low fee"

Could it just be that Vidal wants to join arsenal instead of you lot.
Better chance of winning things

28 Jun 2015 19:47:17
I think the problem isn't always his injury problems, i think he's at the wrong team as Arsenal could play a full team of midfielders these days. A fresh start with LVG making him our main creative player will see him blossom for us as well as England.
It looks as though the club are sticking with their previous policy of building teams based on British talent and last summer was a one off.

Lavers - maybe you could become an ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jun 2015 19:56:53
I used to have very high hopes for Wiltshere, but he consistently makes bad decisions, especially running directly into tackles when there are better options, he is similar to Herrera, and could have been better, but isn't. He'd be really expensive and injury prone backup to a better player.

Lavers,

Seen a few arsenal fans saying the same thing, it's getting a bit embarrassing, ok we get it you won the fa cup 2 years running but you will have to do consistently well and start winning titles before players sign for you for your ability to win trophies above united. You have as much chance as us at winning trophies next year, as much as you would like to think united are finished we aren't.

Round my way he's known as jack wheelchair as he always crocked. I'd pass unless he's at a bargain price. I'd rather go for someone like wardprowse if were going for Yong English.

Yong English is a Young lad playing in the J-league in Japan, top player.

Ed001 noticed a few days ago that you didn't think ramos would move and more than likely just wanted a new contract, just out of interest has your opinion changed at all recently and can you see him coming to us??

Cheers

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - they have been at each other's throat a bit, Perez thinks Ramos has too much power, but I can't see anyone paying the money they will want for him at the age he is. So I do expect him to end up agreeing a deal in the end.}

28 Jun 2015 14:15:54
Maybe the Madrid negotiations are actually for Varane? Ramos could just be the smokescreen. De Gea and 15 Mil wouldn't be a bad deal.
