The Mirror today reports that Wes Sneijder has decided to leave Inter and has made it be known through intermediaries that he would like to join Utd. Ed, do you think there is any truth in this? {Ed001's Note - there is some truth, in that he has let Inter know he is unhappy and would like to move, but I doubt he would shut down his options like that.}

Hi,

I last posted on this site last summer, when I wrote about our interest in Mario Goetze. I haven't been on in a while, but I just checked in, and considering that quite a few posters have talked about him, I thought I would give an update. As I posted last time, I do not have an inside contact at Old Trafford, but I do have one or two at Sky Sports, and what I am telling you comes from them, take it as you will. According to them, we have been interested in Goetze since 2008. Last summer we enquired about his progress, and were, apparently, informed that he was to become a first teamer this year, but that he, and the club, were not averse to the idea of doing business in the future. They stayed true to their word, and Goetze did become a first teamer, and we all know he has had a fantastic season. Finally my sources said that everyone at Sky Sports believes he will sign for us this season, to the extent that bets have stopped being taken in their inter-office transfer window bets. This is the truth, whether he will sign for us is another matter. Thought you all might like to know. . .

De Gea is our number one goalkeeping target as I have said all along but the reports that are out at the minute are slighty wide of the mark, I'm lead to believe that the fee that is still yet to be agreed upon is around the 15 million pound Mark not the 18-22 million being reported. I was told that we activated his release clause, but that cannot be true as only Spanish clubs can activate that. The only competitors I see us having for him are city and arsenal, (city just because they can and arsenal as they do need a good keeper even now they have lehman back) if say Barca were to bid forget it he would choose them or Real over us straight away. I'm still confident he will be a United player next season.

So De Gea and Ashley Young done deals? Only one more thing is needed, strong central midfielder in age of 24-27. With Pogba, Tunncilife and also Cleverley who will offer the creativity in central midfield we now only need a midfield powerhouse. I say De Rossi. Does someone have any news in the talks that are appaerently held?

According to reports in Spain, Manchester United have allegedly agreed a fee for Atletico Madrid goalkeeper David De Gea.

The prodigiously gifted Spaniard has been perpetually linked with the current Premier League leaders amid reports Sir Alex Ferguson has identified the 20-year-old as the ideal successor to the retiring Edwin Van der Sar.

Spanish publication Sport claim United and their La Liga counterparts have agreed a fee for the precocious youngster and all that waits is a medical for the player once personal terms are concluded.

The fee for De Gea is believed to be in the region of 20 million and will see the Spanish Under-21 stopper, who has long been touted as the natural heir to Iker Casillas for the national side, link up with United in the summer should they successfully conclude personal terms.

Since confirming his retirement in February and reaffirming his desire to quit following a campaign by the club s official website to stop him from doing so, Manchester United have been linked with a host of Europe s top custodians most notably, Shalke 04 s Manuel Neuer and Ajax s Maarten Stekelenburg.

Manchester United set for summer swoop
A slice of United's Manchester connection could be sacrificed in the summer to rebuild the Reds' midfield. Mancunians Danny Welbeck and Wes Brown could both be on the way out of Old Trafford as Sir Alex Ferguson closes in on his summer wanted list. With Paul Scholes yet to announce whether he will carry on next season and serious doubts over the futures of Owen Hargreaves, Darron Gibson, Anderson and even Ji-sung Park - whose contract ends in 2012 Fergie will focus on boosting his midfield once the season ends. Inter Milan's Wesley Sneijder is the No.1 target, although the Italian club's president Massimo Moratti has said he will fight to keep the 26-year-old Dutchman. The interest from Manchester United in Sneijder is real, said Moratti. . Fergie is also looking to replenish his stock of young stars in the centre of the park with Everton's Jack Rodwell and Sunderland's Jordan Henderson on his shopping list.

"I think Sneijder is very likely, certainly more than Pastore. I think Pastore will stay put in the summer. He is nowhere near ready to join a top club.

REDFAITH"

Moratti is trying to sell Sneijder, this is the beef Sneijder has with Moratti. But Moratti is a bulls**tter, he has said that United are interested in Sneijder but I think it is lies, he tries to get rival clubs to move quick and buy his players, by saying United are interested in his players, it will also raise the player's valuation slightly.

He told the media that United made contact about buying Balotelli, this was complete fabrication on his behalf, trying to get a better deal out of City, who were interested in him. Don't believe a thing that comes out of Moratti's mouth, he is a liar who uses the media to sell his players.

This is why Sneijder is unhappy, he wanted to stay at Inter and Moratti was doing his best behind the scenes to flog him.

"I, personally, think an Attacking 4-5-1 Formation would be brilliant for our style.

What yous think about a team next year looking like. .

GK- Adler / DeGea
RB- Rafael
CB- Smalling
CB- Vidic
LB- Evra
CM- Sahin / M'Vila
RM- Valencia
LM- Nani / Young
RAM- Hernanes / Gotze
LAM- Rooney / Young
ST- Rooney / Hernandez / Benzema

I think this would be a cracking team!

I would LOVE to see Pastore playing an AM role for us, but at £40-50m he is too Big a Risk coming for Serie A. Too big a gamble.

I think Gary Cahill would be a great signing for us, anybody agree.?

Sell Berbatov and buy Benzema. Would be a great bit of business.

Well. Ed, Sydney! etc. What do you think of a Lineup like this.?"

@MPez
That would be a quality starting 11! but some of it can already be made from our own line up without spending anything. .

GK- Adler / DeGea (Lindegaard)
RB- Rafael
CB- Smalling
CB- Vidic
LB- Evra (Fabio) - Really wouldn't mind seeing Evra leave in the summer.
CM- Sahin / M'Vila (Anderson instead of Sahin)
RM- Valencia
LM- Nani / Young
RAM- Hernanes / Gotze (Cleverley)
LAM- Rooney / Young (Welbeck)
ST- Rooney / Hernandez / Benzema (Berbatov, Diouf)

Although using players internally doesn't look as frightning and quite possibly isn't as good it still looks fairly strong to me. I don't think it's how it will turn out but it's an option right? but my god! i would love to see Sahin and Gotze at United!

And why the hell is nobody talking about Diego? £8 Million for someone AS good but LESS injury prone than Van Der Vaart!

Ed, has there been an update on his situation that you know of? or is it still Liverpool who are interested?

The Moon. {Ed002's Note - It is all quiet on the Diego front.}

"Berbatov out - Juventus £20m

Drogba in - Chelsea £10m"

Drogba has already stated that he wants to end his career at OM if not at Chelsea. Plus I wouldn't count on United buying a player about to be past his prime for that much.
