Alot of talk on the press about ManUtd breaking the Gaitan release clause that is 42.5mil. I hope it doesn't happen since we can use ths money to Gotze, Martinez, WS, M'villa or Sissoko. The only thing we don't need is to breaj a cheque on a winger and doesn't matter how good he is. 42.5mil for Gaitan is madness, the guy is worth no more than 19mil.

Gaitan, unless he can play central midfield, doesnt make any sense to me but it wouldnt be the first time we bought someone who was not a priority would it?

Sick of this centre midfield crap, remember united have always had wingers that created and scored just as much as centre midfielders, ferguson never buys a player to replace another, after the sale of every player he will look to change the play a little bit, and we definitely need another winger, haven't seen any of this guy but i would like to see Yacine Brahimi from rennes, really like the look of him atm

How much of this is true? United is preparing a £40m move for Nicolas Gaitan even though he already signed for a new 5 yr deal. At least we can say that SAF might actually sign an important midfielder during January.

Ridiculous, he is not worth 40M and would never pay that for him. Decent player though, needs to get on the weights mind you

Gaitan is a winger who plays for Benfica.

He is not worth £40 million at all.

We also don't need another winger as we already have Nani/Young/Valencia/Park.

I think this 40m is just a figure thrown out from Benfica end. They did the same with Di Maria (40-45m) then he only cost 25+add ons.

Anyway if SAF goes out and spends even 20m on another winger I for one will be seriously f**ked off.
