*Beckham was 28 when he left united for madrid. The last time an english player left early? Owen left these shores at 25 and woodgate at 24. Hope that answers your question. As for your point about rooney, no player is bigger than the club. Id love rooney to stay provided he can sort his head out but if he leaves then so be it. The team will keep going, probably in a slightly different style, but keep going none the less.
