I can't see us signing Sneijder now, imagine how Cleverley and Anderson would respond to him coming in. Fergie has already said in the past that if a club makes a big signing (i.e Torres-Chelsea) that there is immediate pressure for the player to be in the first team doing well. If we spend £30m+ on Sneijder Fergie will not want to put him straight into the team because Cleverley and Anderson have so far been fantastic. Plus, Rooney has been playing fantastically in and around the final 3rd where Sneijder would ideally like to take up attacking positions. In short the Sneijder signing would end in him stepping on too many current (and brilliant!) Utd players!
However, I'd rather we had him that City.

Done Deal:?Ǭ†Inter Milan have signed midfielder Andrea Poli from Sampdoria on a season-long loan deal with the option to make it permanent thereafter. (sorry for copy and paste) got me thinking sorry maybe this is the replacement inter have been talking about. Or people have been hearing maybe this free sneijder for his transfer to united it's gone quite that's how fergie likes to work food for thought:)

You have to say that Sneijder would be SAF's choice due to Sneijder having the Cantona effect on the youth just like Cantona had on the class of 92, but Gotze is where the Glazers would want to do business. Low wages and would have a huge sell on fee.

Thats right he no doubt does want to come to OT but as Sydney says, he has blown his chance by messing us around with regards to his wages. SAF has quickly tired of the situation. His decision helped by the form of Cleverley. I would still like to see one more midfield face before the window closes though.

Yes.. when asked about his future and would he be moving elsewhere he said:
"Crazy things have to happen for me to move to another club." He was literally saying a miracle is needed if i have to move..
To me it sounded like he was really tired of the whole saga. I think from watching the bodylanguage like he wanted to move, but didn't think it will happen. But that's just my personal opinion from watching the interview. Don't think the move will happen. He didn't think it will happen and I don't think it will happen after watching the interview

If Pogba was to be introduced to the first team then why not so far?
I mean he can come in then be played as a sub?
its fairly obvious that someone else is coming in.
Even the average pundit thinks we need someone else.
So im sure SAF does also, how many ex players and even a dam coach has mentioned sneijder on more than one occasion. There is always fire with smoke.
Regardless of smoke screens ;)

"He’s a really good professional and he’ll play his part, like all the players on the team. It won’t be at this moment in time because the space between games is good. Then we’ve got the international break for two weeks and, when they come back, the European games start up and Berbatov will be involved as he’s got the experience and the ability to play a big part.”

Believable11

Lets not kid ourselves too much; great win but few teams are going to allow us to play like that or leave huge spaces for runs. They made us look good but we will need the craft to control midfields and breakdown much better defending.

We need a world class cm its that simple otherwise we will be left behind by the citeh lot, we are playing well but its 3 games in and the depth is not as far as it was in our squad
Agree0

Can understand your point of view - but one thing many has not caught on - the weak Arsenal team scored two goals, maybe even three had it not been for De Gea The game was too open - Arsenal had shots on target because the defenders were left alone to defend as Ando and Cleverley just watched several times - you cant do that against better teams. Yes its only three games in and they will improve but it could be a different result next time
Agree0

We need scjynder(sorry for the spelling) badly as post previously both Anderson and Cleverley have a habit of ball watching insted of tracking thier men. Fletcher will be a welcome addition but will not bring us to the next level we need

For those still interested, the line from Inter and WS at the moment seems to be that "he's an Inter player for now, but anything can happen in the last few days". For me, this means that as of right now, there is no offer on the table, but they are expecting one more to be made. Anyone know any more or have a different view?
Believable13
Unbelievable5
United will not make another offer. Inter in my opinion will cave in to the previous offer as will Sneijder. Then again he could stay at Inter, he doesn't mind either way he's settled in Milan but wouldn't say no to moving to a better team. I still think it will happen but it could not. We don't need him anyway (except for in Europe maybe when teams play a different style to that of the Premier League) our weakness is not making goals its preventing them We need a midfielder who can take the game by the scruff of the neck. De Rossi of Roma would be my choice, but I fear he may be City bound before the window closes.

At last some sense Well said. I don't think some of the posters on here realise how stupid they sound saying 'what a great result, all we need now is WS' HELLLOOO, we just put 8 goals past Arsenal what planet are they living on. I would be surprised if any of them have ever seen Utd play other than on FIFA on their Xbox. Please don't come back with some rubbish about Barcelona and how superior they are, yes they are a lot better at the moment, but WS in our team wouldn't have made a scrap of difference in the final in May. It is cloud cuckoo land to think that Utd don't need at least 2 in midfield (dm/am) - it's a long season and this midfield will struggle against the likes of Real, Barca and City (as they get stronger) and poss Chelski (this window or next)

I like Berbatov, I think he gives us another option against stubborn defenses, and he has been a great servant to our club. But the fact of the matter is, he will be sold if a club meets United's valuation. He is on the transfer list, hence the reason he cannot get a game and United have held talks with PSG. If PSG up their bid he will be sold.
