Mourinho earns E13.5 mill a year
E 2 mill a year sponsorship deals E 10.5 salary from real Madrid
Jred {Ed007's Note - That is a lot of E's :-)
When I went to school 2 mill add 10.5 mill was only 12.5 mill just splitting hairs.
And is also only 12.5 mill E's ;-) {Ed007's Note - Still some party though!}

Ed do you think any signings will be made b4 tuesday with all these departures happenning. With us having a match tuesday night surely all our dealings would need to be wrapped up by mid afternoon tuesday.
I have hoped all window someone would come in, but thought it wont happen.
Jay {Ed007's Note - I don't think there will be anything happening now.}
Cheers ed thats what i think.
We have some big players to come back who can make a big difference in my opinion. I dont want to pin all our hopes on cleverley! But i think he his going to be a star. We need a midfielder to compliment him.

Does anybody seriously think Mourinho would come to us at the end of the season? I have a sneaky suspicion he might replace Harry at Spurs if he takes the England job?
Mourinho at spurs? Lol wherever he goes he needs big money spurs dont have that and he is to big for spurs..
Thats my view exactly, spurs dont have the money that mourinho will want
Prehaps Mourinho is already lined up for the England job! He loves the English people, has fun with the media, would have no chairman glaring over his shoulder, would only have to win games to make himself popular! If England were to win the world cup who would really care how much he was paid.
It does not matter who manages England we will not win the world cup with the current squad. I would say it is at least a decade away IF the current youth crop meet their potential.

All these departures lead to a massive rebuild in the summer, someone to accompany Cleverly will come in, a new center back, a left back, a striker will come in.
So i think we should go for:
Jordi Alba
Neven Subotic
Javi Martinez
Robin van Persie
I know it sounds far fetched, but i really do think that its such a big possibility.
Alba more likely to stay in Spain, as is Javi Martinez. Subotic has a few clubs looking at him, and Van Persie is a non-starter.
Excluding alba likely to fetch reasonably large amounts of money.
TM
Cut Alba and I'd be happy. Fabio's better than him.

Hazard has stated today that its impossible for him to move this window, but that he is heading to England in the summer. Does this mean that he's already agreed to play somewhere? Or will he be choosing from a selection of offers?
Chelsea.
We must be second or at least third in the running surely?
Percy
Don't think City are interested in him, doubt Arsenal, Spurs, L'pool would spend that much. Not sure we would either (SAF pulls out the odd surprise).
I'd expect Chelsea if he does come to England.

Just to get things straight Mame Biram Diouf has been loaned to hanover for the rest of the season! He has NOT been sold.
The official Man United website have confirmed he has been "SOLD"
ARB
Where did you hear this? According to Hannover he signed a two year contract. £1.5m according to German newspapers.
Sydney!
Correct Sydney and if he bothered to check he would see that he and Danny Drinkwater have been officially removed from the first team squad pictures
ARB
Drinkwater is actually listed in the reserve squad as being on loan.
Perhaps you should have checked that before biting the OP's head off.

Petrucci's name has come up a few times recently, even though all the talk is around Pogba and Morrison etc, but I really do rate him, I know he had his problems with injury but but does anyone with more knowledge on the reserve front have any idea of if and when we can expect to see him coming into the first team picture?
TM
Watched him against liverpool and derby and he played well, good range of passing and always looking for the ball.after the bad luck he had with injuries he,s played 14 games already this season so hopefyully the bad times are behind him.dont think he will be in the picture this season maybe go on pre season tour and start being integrated into 1st team squad.
johndenton
TM
I have seen quite a bit of him this season. The two previous seasons he was dogged with injuries that were related to growing and his joints. This season he has played 14 of the 16 matches and is also the captain.he is a great passer of the ball and has good vision,he also scores some great goals as his first on Thursday would testify. I also thinke he is helped by having two Italian mates in the reserves namely Massaci and Fornasier
who incidently are showing promise from ther long term injuries.
hope this helps
ARB
Petrucci scored a cracker against Newcastle the other night.
One of many excellent pefrormances on the night.

wot about welliton as a signing. quick, good finisher and pretty young. not sure how much hed cost though
JohnTheRedMaroon
Seen him play a few times and haven't been impressed. So the above is void.

If the story on the Rumors page is real about Sneijder finally wanting out, then is it a possibility. And i'm going to say yes.
Why? Well, look at the amount of strikers we are getting rid of, and if get rid of Berbatov as well then that leaves us with Rooney, Chicharito, Welbeck and an injured Owen (supplemented by Keane, Lingard). So is SAF's plan to play Rooney up top with Sneijder behind him? I think it might be, we are clearing out the strikers so there is less competition for places, however, there would still be that competition (which is important) if there was just one space up for grabs.
Sneijder can almost certainly play in central midfield too, he'd be good alongside Carrick/Fletcher and probably even Cleverly. I think if its true then its worth a shot. But fitting him into a 4-4-1-1 formation is by far the more likely option in my mind.
RedDevil19
That guy on T**kshort pretty much guaranteed that Sneijder would join last Summer. So I take most things with a massive grain of salt nowadays.
But him playing behind Rooney could work beautifully!
Gar
Sneijder has been willing to leave Inter since June and is waiting for a king's ransom offer in wages to accept. Inter have also been willing to sell since June, but cannot sell until he agrees a move. Nothing has changed with Sneijder, if someone agrees to pay him £250k a week (give or take £50k) he will leave, if they don't, he will stay.
Sydney!
Who says he won't budge? He might...anything can happen in this game. So who knows - you certainly can't know that for a fact because you definatly do not have any inside knowledge, unless your Wesley Sneijder? You might be - but it seems unlikely.
RedDevil19
Maybe he needs to think about his demands if he is that desperate to leave, who's going to pay him that kind if money?
Barca don't need him.
Madrid don't want him and he's been there.
City would be most likely to pay it, but with Silva nd Aguero do they need him?
I would def not want to see sneidjer in midfield with clev, as good as he is, neither are defensive players and our defence would be exposed too much esp with evra and evans back there! sneidjer in behind rooney does make sense as rooney would also be able to be rested once in a while and may take some pressure off him from carrying the team
having said that i still dont think sneidjer will join as the glazer business model is too release the higher earners and replace with cheaper options (as shown with tampa bay) and there are plenty of cheaper more long term alternative's/ investment's such as gaitan, hazard or goetze
dags
Its not about money why do united want him? 30million fee £200,000 pounds a week. united will not buy this lad he had his chance he turned us down we've moved on he hasn't . time everyone on here did he's over priced, over rated and frequently injured. id rather give morrison and pogba new deals rather than waste money on him. plus i don't feel fergie wants to buy players over 25 now just my opinion though

One thing is for sure.. his tackling would live up to the reputation of paul scholes'
Ozwald
I dont see sneijder playing behind rooney, its a waste. sneijder only had that good season when he was playing with eto, who is lightning fast! him and rooney are too similar, i dont think them two would work well as a 4411 formation. maybe them two behind hernandez or a similar quick, play on the last man kind of player would be better. like a 4321 formation. anyone agree?
likkle duggo
We have Rooney who currently plays there and Morrison who is trying to push into the team. Sneijder won't be coming, and even if he did, what kind of message would that send to the young midfielders?
Percy
One rumour I heard was that all parties were in agreement until Anzhi took Eto, at which point Inter pulled out.
Prefer to see Rooney leading the line with a clever player in behind him. That formation has been pretty successful in Europe for us over the years.

Okay, seriously, what's going on?! First Pogba, then Morrison, then Welbeck and now Fryers? Something's going on, and I don't like it. Why is this happening? Eds? Regulars?
Percy
Basically after the Pogba and Morrison drama died down, the journalists turned their heads to other upcoming young players we have. Fryers and Welbeck there is no need to worry about. Fryers will sign as will welbeck, however Morrison may not. Pogba i am sure will be with us still id rather keep pogba than morrison.
MUFC_Devil
Simple; We have no money and young players are jut seeing £££ signs and that says it all really imo.
Red Pedro
But, I finally had a look at Morrison's twitter, money doesn't seem to be an issue with him, and he seems to want to sign. And I must say, I'd prefer Morrison all day long. I only ask because Fryers and Welbeck are both Manc lads who work hard and don't seem like money grabbers.
Percy
Percy stroll over to Zeki's twitter as well, he also comes across as fairly sensible.
This is nothing new. This is all just a process all clubs go through with players, both old and young. The press just seem to have thing for United at the minute and are focussing on our youngsters in the hope of getting a story.
TK-Red
I don't think any of them will be leaving. But I do think it marks who SAF rates the highest. I hope none of them go anyway.
Percy
Percy I have watched Morrison now for three years and not doubting his great potential for 1 second i have to say his body language stinks
As i stated last week compare that with a smiling Petrucci who but for two years of injury would be way ahead of him anyway then it is time we moved him on imo
ARB
I've never noticed it, maybe I've just been caught up in all the smiling and goal scoring, and general brilliance? I think they should both be on the fringes anyway.
Percy
Petrucci's getting sold so wouldn't expect him anywhere near the first team. Roma in the summer couple of million quid, the morrison to roma thing was a smokescreen.
What this boils down to IMO is this,
Most of the media have always had a hatred of United and are constantly tyring to unsettle the club, hence constant rumours about Rooney and Vidic (our 2 world class players) wanting to leave. Both these players have gone public about their desire to stay at United so the media needed a new angle. Bearing in mind we won the FA youth cup last year and these batch of players are potentially the best since the early nineties the new angle is to unsettle the future of the club, Pogba, Morrison, Wellbeck etc. Mark my words they WILL sign new deals and they WILL become future world beaters given time.
Believe in Fergie he is unquestionably the best man to nurture these players into the best and make up for the fact we can't compete financially with the other top sides in Europe.
I hope Petrucci doesn't get sold... He could be top quality. But rather him than Pogba or Morrison. It does seem more logical than Ravel to Roma though...
Percy
Why is this happening?
simple answer: the Glazers made it a rule to not renew contract early, meaning not before the final year, basically to save money, since the new (higher) contracts have to be paid from the moment they are signed.
This is majorly backfiring, esp. with the youth, because they are giving them an incredible strong bargaining position.
I highly doubt any of the youngsters would have refused the contract on offer right now last year, especially if offered right after a Carling Cup appearance.
Hope the Glazers learn something off it.
You're not saving any money if you have to replace those teens with acquisitions

Fergie is selling players and not buying whilst Mourinho says he will definately quit end of season for a premier league club,,,isnt there connection here Edd?? {Ed002's Note - Are you hearing the theme to the Twilight Zone as you type?}
I hope Mourinho never becomes United manager that is all.
United Till I Die 1987
I would welcome Mourinho at Old Trafford. There are very very few who could realistically follow SAF possibly only 3 managers and Jose tops the list.

The PEOPLE are reporting hot prospet Ezekiel Fryers is the latest star to join contract rebels at MU.
It states that he too is out of contract in the Summer.
Please someone in the know at the club or one of the ED's say this is not so??
If it is then WTF is going on at the club at the minute with youth team contracts......????
Oxred
There's not much transfer news to report nowadays what with the world being in a global recession, so media outlets have to go for crap stories like player contract demands at the moment. This happens at every club every day. Football is a short career so player's and especially player's agents will always want the best possible deals for their clients. Fans will never understand it until they've had something to do with the game it's all about money. Sad but true.
United Till I Die 1987
I would have to agree. We have no money, but these players see that so and so is on this and so and so are on that. MONEY is the ONLY thing that motivates players these days. As already said, sad but true.

Diouf, Kiko, King, Cofie, Bebe all offloaded whilst Owen is still injured. Whilst Berbatov trying to be offloaded. If offloaded like planned we would have Welbeck, Rooney, Hernandez & an injured Owen. Just Will Keane & Lingard as the only reserve strikers. It seems to me that we are making room for one or two young strikers who are reserve/first team quality. Could we be seeing one/two in the next two days? I think a lot hinges on whether we can offload Berbatov or not? Lets wait and see.
Sydney!
I think with the way SAF has to get the player he wants and no one else, well just saying that he doesn't rush into transfers without a lot of thinking behind it etc. I reckon it's the other way round with it hinging on if we can get our primary target then Berbatov will be offloaded? If we sell Berba first and can't get the guy/s we had in mind then SAF said he wont panic buy etc..
Ozwald
Would love to see Erick Torres here.
MUFC_Devil
I am hearing we are making a move for wilfred ZAHA
TRUMORS
This is exactly why I think we're clearing the 'dead wood'. We also probably want to lower the wage bill to allow us to tie youngster's to better contracts. I do still believe that getting rid of O'Shea was a mistake, we could really have done with him this season what with all our defensive injuries.
United Till I Die 1987
I agree with Ozwald, i don't think some average young striker will be brought in like Sydney does. I think its a long term man that he is looking for, maybe not a huge name, but a decent name to say the least.
I can't see it being Erick Torres just yet, work permit issues would seriously hinder us, and i think Zaha would be better at Bolton, more suited to them than us i think.
I'm not sure who the player is, but i am really hoping we get at least someone in! Maybe SAF is doing a Tony Pulis and drivign the price down till the last day. Never the less, it won't be a midfielder that enters the fray.
RedDevil19
Sydney didn't say anything about bringing an 'average' player in, neither did i really.. Just stated that SAF wont settle for anything other than what he has his eyes on. So unless we definitely can get the player we want, Berbatov wont be sold until summer. What's actually happening with his 1 year extension, have they yet to trigger it? Eds or syd if you know?
Ozwald
Would love to see Kovacic brought in. Clearing deadwood to bring him in wouldn't be so unrealistic.
Sydney!
We have until March to decide, if he isn't sold in the next couple of days it will likely be triggered. I do not think average players will come in, but cheap, young strikers/forwards with potential.
Sydney!
I may be VERY wrong when I say this, and have absolutely no proof (or a clear recollection of where I saw it) but I thought Torres wouldn't need a work permit because his Mum/Dad/Him/Dead Dog etc was born in/is a national of/dual national ... of the UK? I'm sure he's eligible to play for England. Not saying he would, that isn't my argument, but you guys can see where I'm coming from.
Jack
