Why do people believe there's such a hold up with ADM transfer to Psg? And if we are truely interested in Pedro why shouldn't we just lay the 22m on the table and be done with it . I obviously appreciate that there's a liitle bit more to it than all that but can't help feeling that there's a delay in transfers because with have negotiations in a bigger transfer elsewhere . Peoples thoughts?

I'm guessing we're holding out for the proper price. They want to pay quite a bit less. With the uncertainty of whether PSG will stump up the money, Pedro won't be bought just yet and simlilar Di Maria won't be sold just yet, until PSG do. If they do.

Guillem Balague said just now that Di Maria deal is done yesterday, €63mln. Hope by the end of the weekend we have two more players, that can train at least a week with the team before Tottenham game.

Guillem Balague reporting deal done 44.2m for adm

Since have we become a club,That everytime a So called big club comes in for our players, we roll over and sell them. I know the contracts signed now a days are worthless. but we are mufc for God's sake. Did Di Maria only sign knowing full well he would get his psg move eventually. Van gaal should make him and blanc sweat, Keep him for another season and show them who is boss and who the bigger club is.
Grrrrrrrrr.

Rock , what purpose would that serve. Cutting off your nose to spite your face. If PSG come up with the money , let him go.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jul 2015 12:52:30
Be glad to see the back of him he's not even worth venting about.DDG deserves a lot of credit for just getting his head down and getting on with it even tho we all see he wants to go. So as much as it would be a blow to see him go I think we should let him leave for Madrid as long as we get a good fee for him. We need to have a settled squad for the upcoming season

GuardianOnline in the last hour reporting interest in John Stones

29 Jul 2015 22:13:48
Don't understand why we would want him we need an experience world class CB not a young player with potential we already have one of them in paddy mcnair his performance against Chelsea last season was outstanding.

Agree4 Disagree4

{Ed025's Note - dont compare paddy with stones nach..you will be telling us that theres not much between ronaldo and ashley young next!.. :)

29 Jul 2015 22:37:51
I'm not ed the point is we need an experienced centre back like a hummels or otamendi not paying stupid money for a youngster.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jul 2015 07:35:02
Nach 73, United should always be interested in the best young English talent. Stones could go on to become our new Rio and play for next 10 years.

Id love to know how many times all the buy Otamendi brigade have actually seen him play?

Paddy needs to go out on loan and learn his trade, Ed25 make a valid point.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - why not just give him more games with United to learn his trade?}

30 Jul 2015 07:50:05
Aymeric Laporte? This kids potential is unreal? Bring John Stones also and alternate between Smalling and Stones? We have a lot of games next season and I for one intend to win most of the buggers! Some say I'm a dreamer BUT you have got to be when your team is Manchester United! BELIEVE!

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - why would you alternate Stones with Smalling? The gulf in quality is massive, you would only do that if Stones was unfit or injured. Smalling is just not good enough, his improvement still only made him a poor Premier League player, at best. Stones, on the other hand, is potentially a top class centre half, who needs to play as often as possible to gain experience.}

Paddy > Stones!

Personally, I don't think any of our "established" centre backs represent a long term solution for the club. I also think centre backs need game time against genuine quality if they are to develop and improve - they'll learn more in an hour against Aguero than twenty games against Ings.

So, if we did move for Stones, it has to be on the basis he would play regularly and we'd be willing to accept he is young and will cost us some games early on. I'd question what we could offer him in terms of on-pitch development right now - we don't have anyone close to the calibre of Ferdinand or Vidic to mentor a young player through.

So I think any move for Stones would have to be as 1 of 2 inbound centre backs, which is a risk in itself.

30 Jul 2015 09:56:30
From LVG's comments this morning it looks like Blind will be our new centre back with either Smalling or Jones partnering him.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jul 2015 11:30:44
Sod it then, sell Smalling to Arsenal, they've always liked him, give Evans to Everton as part of the deal to bring in Stones and buy Laporte? Job done! Centre back pairing for years, Jones and Rojo back up?

Ok, buy Laporte and Stones, then loan them back to their former clubs to improve? Least we know their ours? Give em another season then bring em back?

Would certainly be better than others we are linked with and ticks all the boxes- service (only 25), skill/ability, undoubted and he has proved it in the premiership. Would send a strong message to europe to just to Epl teams.

Agree3 Disagree1

29 Jul 2015 18:31:51
"to raise funds for aguero". because City will obviously just sell him as they need the money?. and don't mind selling arguably the best player in the EPL and one of the top forwards in world football? Maybe just a rumour I know but makes no sense at all to me. Even if Madrid offered 100 million I would be very surprised if City sold him. I would love Bale to come to United more than anyone, but I just can't see it happening, this season at least. If he has another difficult season in Madrid then maybe next year it's more of a possibility.

WhoAteAllDepays, we sold Beckham, Ruud, Ronaldo and Heinze to them. 3 of them in their prime and most likely they will take our keeper too so yes we have been a feeder club for them. City haven't sold a single good player in a long time.

RA were Tevez and balotelli not 2 of their best players when they left? Tevez left in 13/14 not exactly a long time. If a player wants out these days it usually happens.

On 17th July the Ed's comment on the Real Madrid page was "Ideally they (Madrid) would like Aguero and/or Morata although a recent "event" has really limited the likelihood of a move for Aguero". The ed also mentioned Thomas Muller as a possible. No idea if that has changed.

29 Jul 2015 20:29:50
Don't get all the ridiculing of Delays post? Any player has a value. Top players are always moving clubs. If Madrid came in for Aguero , and he wanted to move there , of course it could happen.

Agree with WAAD on this as he did start his post with "rumour has it". City have sold a few decent players over the years I think people are missing out on Boateng, Negredo and Garcia. All big names who commanded decent fees. Stating something is rubbish is counterproductive and attention seeking hence the disagree button.

Delays , you're welcome mate. I think some poster just like to argue for the sake of it. There is not a footballer , or sportsman for that matter , on the planet who is "unbuyable".

Ed25 , nice to " see" you back on these pages. You have a lot of good input when you grace our pages , along with Ed001. Chow do you feel about the possibility of Stones leaving? Personally , I think it would be a mistake for him to join one of the big boys just yet. I would think another year or two at a good solid club like Everton would be more beneficial for him long term. In a way, I think it is more important for GK's and defenders to have a few more years "learning their trade"; before moving on to bigger things.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i agree betty, and although john has the potential to become an outstanding player he is not there just yet, he is still prone to the odd howler that has cost us points, i would like to see him learn his trade and then if the time is right move on, now i know i might sound like an auld arse mate but one of the problems with the game is young guys being know alls and being badly advised by their blood sucking agents (sterling), i just hope stones is better than that and to be honest i think he is..

29 Jul 2015 22:07:08
Pepgiggs, didn't you mention something about Yannick Bolasie earlier? Know your stuff eh mate.
Don't shoot the bloke down for posting a rumour he's read/heard on a rumour site.

Agree4 Disagree0

29 Jul 2015 22:01:42
Ed , yeah Sterling is the prime example. If Stones goes to Chelsea he will be behind Ferry , Cahill and Zouma at least in the pecking order. He could go out on loan , but I don't see any benefit to him as a player in doing that. Why not just stay at Everton and aim to move in a year or two.
But , of course there is the money issue. And we all know that clouds a players judgement big time , especially the younger ones. Funny how Sterling comes to mind again :)

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - stirling will be the bench mark for a long time betty, what a brat!, it would be good to see what SAF would have done with him if he were in brenda,s shoes mate.. :)

29 Jul 2015 22:27:53
I mentioned bolasie to see what peoples opinions were of him as a player. It wasn't a rumour! What's that got to do with 'knowing my stuff'

I put that post to see what reaction I'd get. I seem to get a lot of stick of people on here and I am really not quite sure why, I'm interested in the adm story because it's real, and happening so I like to ask the eds there 'professional' 'professional'opinion. Less than one post a day is 'clogging up' is. Betty swallocks had it nailed earlier, belittling peoples post , there's just no need. The eds seem to keep the stronger worded and belittling posts of when they see necessary , maybe they need to keep a few more from being posted

Agree2 Disagree5

30 Jul 2015 07:51:07
All I'm saying is you jumped on the guy for posting a rumour. Surely that's exactly what a rumour site is for.
As for City selling Agueto. This is the Real Madrid who bought Luis Figo from their biggest rivals Barca.

Maybe back when he played for Milan and looked like a future star but not now. I wouldn't pay more than £3m for him and even then he would be behind Wilson in the pecking order. Third choice striker for £12m no thank you.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jul 2015 16:23:37
He had one good season, then it went downhill from there. If he were to come in for a small value and would accept small wages and to be our 3rd choice, then I wouldn't mind.

Would want him at all as apparently his attitude sucks but really think If we are going to buy a striker it's not going to be the muller, lewendowski, benzemas that we keep hearing about as none of these are going to want to play back up to Rooney so probably more realistic we would buy a pato, Lorente sort of player which is why for me deepay will be the second striker and pedro as an alternative. Pedro to be last summer signing regardless of who we sell
