United are yet to return to Sevilla with a new offer, but more talks are expected over a move in the next few days.

SIR ALEX JUNIOR

Believable45 Unbelievable21

Read the same thing and it says a premiere league team and nothing about us.

Everyone needs to calm down and stop writing stuff with their own twist on it.

Shahram

Agree2 Disagree0

God created united.

Isnt this a rumour site? So why can't people put what they think?

Ali g

Agree2 Disagree0

I don't know much about this dude. Would anyone care to enlighten me?

Pip

Agree1 Disagree0

It is ok to put things up but not when it is blatantly being misquoted.

Shahram

Agree1 Disagree1

Ed is this another case of clubs dragging our name in to increase the price or are we genuinely interested in him?

Dan

Agree1 Disagree0

Am not misquoting anything, the president say he received a bid from a premier league club and the only premier leauge club link is man utd. so spot on.
MR SIR JUNIOR

Agree0 Disagree2

I normally don't buy he's only 20, most top players are in the top teams by then, but this guy is imo an exception, very good defensively and loves to get forward he's a big lad and looks ungainly ( is that a word) doing it. Kinda like an immature 2 year old race horse all legs bags of potential, whether he can reach it only time will tell. At least he has the tackling and the desire to get forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh sure, most top players are at top teams by 20, despite the fact you don't actually stop growing until 23-24 and most professionals peak in their late 20s. if you're not bought by a top club in your teens then you may as well give up on football.

Jaxer

Agree0 Disagree2

Mr Sir Junior

Wrong, Chelsea is the most likely club who has bid and confirmed by Eds.

The article you are quoting from is a journalist taking what Savilla president has said and then doing the usual bs and connecting united to it. Nowhere does the the president of Savilla talk about united.

I do hope we have an interest and he would be a good investment at those figures.

Shahram

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought we would get Thiago and Strootman. However this lad seems possible, could the agent fee's for Strootman be holding things up? The ed has hinted at this before.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think Strootman is on the cards and we are after much bigger fish. Next week will be a telling week when it comes to all this stuff.

Shahram

Agree0 Disagree0

Strootman is on the card and expect the announcement these week when moyes resume his work at Manchester United and about thiago, its up to him to decide if he is coming to utd or stay with barca because everythingis agreed.

SIR ALEX JUNIOR

Agree0 Disagree0

It seems to be a bid from Chelsea actually

Agree0 Disagree0

Thiago Strootman and Kurt Zouma will be
signed in the next couple of weeks and
then either cr7 or Bale will come towards
the end of july.

So guys how about we sign up George north for the wing? ;). More serious though, are we still in for Di Maria? I remember ed 2 did say we were speaking to his agent I think? Then we got linked to him in the press, everything seems to have gone quiet now! Anybody no if we have decided against making a move for him? Thanks

Anyone else now doubting this Thiago deal? Personally I think there's as much chance of him signing for United as there is him staying at Barca or joining Bayern or Chelsea. 4 options for him there! Could drag out for a while yet, just hope we don't miss out on other targets because of this.

Believable38 Unbelievable11

Worry not, well maybe, please read my post on banter (no clue why its in banter tis a definite rumour ), I'm convinced he is coming, mind I was convinced the Lions would win earlier.
Everything this guy has told me/or my bro has been spot on. My only concerns are;
1) He thinks the deal is done
2) Thiago's actual contract release details, which I would be very happy for anyone who knows to comment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Given that Thiago has said that he wants a move to fight for a place at next years world cup - we should still be favorites.

With the signing of Neymar - it's likely that his playing time for Barcelona would drop further next season if he were to stay. As far as I can see that rules staying there out as an option.

Munich have just signed Gotze and already had an abundance of midfield talent. A move there would see him re-unite with Pep - but not getting the game time he's after. It's possible, but unlikely. BM need to sign strikers more than they do midfielders!

Likewise; Chelsea have many midfield options. Given how Marin got on last season; a move there would be stupid. There may also be some animosity between him and Jose due to the Real/Barca links. Chelsea would probably be the worst option for him.

redseven

Agree1 Disagree1

Always knew that not beating Chelski at Old Trafford would come back to haunt us. Had we beaten them it would've weakened their chance of Champions League football, thus eliminating them from potential transfer targets - why the players failed to perform that day still baffles me?

Agree1 Disagree1

I've said all things point towards a move to United for Thiago. His dad has already said that's what he himself would like. I think he has already made up his mind, hence his holiday then when he returns he meets with Barca to tell them face to face he wants out and to request a deal is sorted out asap. I'm not worrying too much on this one either.

Ozwald

Agree1 Disagree0

It's going to be another hazard, mourn type deal. Said it before got a bargain manager who will buy bargain players. Don't expect any major signings I'm afraid.

Really do hope I am so wrong, but don't see it. We will end with Baines, Saha and maybe two or three cheapo's like he did at Everton.

Everyone can see we needs world class centre midfielder and left winger, and another top striker if wazza goes.

Expect a few tough years under Moyes, never mind already renewed mine and the kids memberships. So come on Utd!

Agree0 Disagree4

Moyes went after bargains at Everton because they never had any money to spend! United invest in talented young players! Personally I think Moyes will do well at united, but no one compares to the great Sir Alex Ferguson!

Agree2 Disagree0

We can worry and wonder, will he won't he?
If Thiago does sign then I believe he will become one of the finest midfielders we've seen and can take us to another level.
However does that guarantee any future success?
We missed out recently on
Nasri
Moura
Hazard
Varane
Pogba etc.
Now Sir Alex did get every little bit of effort and focus from our current squad and won the league and got robbed out of Europe!
Dortmund got to the final only for decisions against Malaga going their way it could have been so different finishing 20 points behind Bayern in the league with that terrific team!
It's a fine line and Thiago with 1/2 more quality additions will certainly give us back a great football team to watch but no guarantee of trophies.
Dylan

Agree1 Disagree1

Don't be so defeatist, the only reason Moyes bought "bargain buys" as you say was because that's what his budget at Everton would allow. Its a whole new ball game for him at United. Please let the man start his job before laying in to him. Judge his buys when the window closes and not before.

togthered.

Agree3 Disagree0

Thiago is on holiday, stop being so inpatient. The people saying this deal is dead in the water are the same people that were saying its a done deal a few days ago. Have some patience, another 7-10 days and I'm sure something official will be announced, one way or the other.

Wazza.

Agree2 Disagree0

I don't think you know what you're talking about no-name. Moyes mostly bought bargain at Everton because that's all he could afford, but he got really good deals for the most part and made the most of the money available.

Now I doubt we'll see him going for 40m+ signings all the time, but he will buy quality players. Several players in the 15-25m range I expect, maybe one up to 40m'ish if the right guy is available.

Thorne

Agree0 Disagree0

. 'expect a few tough years under Moyes'. 'Saha & some 'cheapo's'. this is the kind of United fan that gets right on my bristols. instead of doing the 'cheapo membership thing 4 yourself & your kids fella go the whole hog & buy season tickets instead, that way Moyes might b able 2 buy top-notch players. a few examples of 'cheapo's'. Schmeichel, Eric, Irwin, Keane, Solskjaer, Bruce, Van der Sar 2 name but few. so pipe down with your negative tosh, give Moyes a chance. 'bargain manager' more like bargain fan. Tonguer10

Agree7 Disagree1

Agree with Tonguer except the fact Keano was a cheap buy. The price given was then a British record transfer.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think our biggest rivals are Bayern and I can see him there. He won't go to Chelsea or Real I'm pretty sure and I don't thInk he'll stay at Barca. I really really want to sign this kid, so talented, he can go a far as he wants in te game.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

. maybe your right about Keane not being such a 'cheapo'. but looking back I'd say £3. 75 million was a bargain. I'd of paid £30. 75 million for what he gave 2 the team, yet 2 replace the guy, legend of a mid-fielder even if he is a little bitter. Tonguer10.

Agree2 Disagree0

What makes you think that we have a big budget? Apart from RVP which at 21m wasnt a gamble who have we paid big money for since berbaflop? No one sorry for the negativity but I can't see us getting a top player just yet.

Please feel free to shoot me down if we do but we will see more players leave than arrive.

Evra, Vidic, Wazza.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes is in the same mould as Alex Ferguson, which means: he knows who to buy, train and make them better players.
If his policy will work on a more gigantic scale, will have to see.
But. I'm actually not that concerned. Sir Alex Ferguson asked for our support, and that's how it's going to be.
Of course we all want a super team, but looking back at some of the Champions League previous winner you see that not all "super teams" win.
In fact, it'll be REALLY fun to watch Moyes buying "cheap" players and building into good/great players.
My only single hope: see at least one german players and one top brazilian (Rafael has to improve!) player in the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

You can't compare transfer fees in the time of Keane to what they are now. Maybe if you times them by 8 you would have the modern equivalent value.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tonguer10

I used to be a season ticket holder til the glazers took over and I now work shifts, sorry my holidays are for spending with my family in the sun not going to OT every game. As for negative i'm probably lot older than you and remember the late 70's-80's and early 90's. when I went home and away and watched us lose to sides that were so poor. How can you compare schmeichel, irwin, keane etc to likes of what we have got.

And I will give him time don't worry about and I WILL support Moyes through thick and thin as i'm MUFC til I die. But got to be honest didn't want him, don't like his style of play, which to be fair may change now. Should of got Klopp just my opinion.

Agree3 Disagree0

. 'sorry my holidays are for spending with the kids somewhere hot not OT'. where would Manchester United b if all United fans followed your lead. but you stated b4 that u have got memberships 4 yourself & your kids, you should of saved that £100 or so fella & put it towards your week in sunny Bognor. so your negative because of the style of football Everton played & that United lost 2 some awful teams 20/30+ years ago. quote of the day. 'MUFC TILL I DIE'. !. you sure fella. ?

Agree1 Disagree0

Lighten up lads. We're all entitled to an opinion. Supposed to be all Red Army. let's not knock each other for having different views. Doubt the Edds would look favourably on petty arguments.

Agree0 Disagree0

. when you have someone spouting tosh about Moyes & what cheapo signings he will make even b4 a ball is kicked in training or even without Moyes having yet 2 sit in the hot-seat then 2 a true United fan this would infuriate. it's not petty arguing its educating the less fortunate, it's the EDDS who allow posts 2 b posted anyway. Tonguer10

Agree1 Disagree0

So he's not a true united fan because he has a different opinion to you? That's ridiculous, any fan is entitled to there opinion whether they go no games, one game or every game, so get off your high horse. I personally didn't want Moyes but fully support him and think in hindsight he's the perfect replacement
SC

Agree1 Disagree0

Hi just to support Tonguer I don't think free speech is the issue or how much money you spend on tickets. Its the attitude that somehow the squad is going to decline and Moyes is second rate before he's even started the job! ABU trolls or even worse so called "real" fans need to get a grip, just because u want Utd to decline doesn't mean it will. we have a very good squad and 1 or more top players in and we could have a team to win the european cup. believe! irish red dude

Sorry but having a different opinion is one thing, bitching and whining about Moyes before he's even off hos holidays is ridiculous. One of the few times I think people deserve every bit of contempt they get.

Fact is, none of us know for sure how Moyes will be at utd, since there is nothing for comparison. Pne and Everton were such different jobs from this that they can't be used for comparison, so drawing conclusions out of your backside and spouting them as fact makes you look like an utter moron.

I also thought Klopp would have been the perfect successor, but firstly he has made it clear he will not leave BvB before the end of his current contract (hence he hasn't been linked with ANY jobs this summer, at least by anyone who knows anything). Secondly, getting behind Moyes is not just empty words to me, so I will wait and see what kind of manager he is at utd, rather than deciding I already know and bitching left, right and centre while I tell everyone I will get behind him.

Stop saying you'll get behind him and actually DO IT! Stop slagging him for mistakes you THINK he's going to make, and at least wait for him to make them first. Support your team, or sod off.

Thorne

Agree2 Disagree0

. these guys who are knocking Moyes are the same type of persons who were calling 4 Fergie's head after not winning anything in his first 2/3 years at OT, he was given time not by these types of fans but by the board, & the rest is history. if Moyes don't win anything this season r these persons gunna start booing Moyes & making banners like the Chelsea & Liverpool fans, turning us in2 a laughing stock. Moyes is gunna b here 4 a while so the prawn sandwich brigade better accept it. Tonguer10

Agree1 Disagree0

Grow up boys, everyone is entitled to their opinion, these petty disagreements make us look like the clowns across the city. Most fans will be excited but with a little bit of nervousness. But the board have signed Moyes so let's at least give him time to prove that he has the ability to take over from the great SAF. Hopefully Moyes will bring in some more quality to help strengthen the team and challenge on all fronts.
One thing did catch my attention was that sly sports stated that the talks with Wayne Rooney started three weeks ago and will continue, I for one hope he stays but how do the rest of you feel?

Agree0 Disagree1

If Rooney can score or assis nearly a goal per game while being shuffled around like he was, give him a run up front, get some competition with rvp, they'll both play better.

Agree0 Disagree0

You don't miss out on played when the don't even talk to the club, or want to join. Chelski tried getting thiago alcantara befor they signed romeu.

Expect the Garay deal to be announced with in the next week however the only reason we are in for him is because Vidic is to join AC Milan.

Believable17 Unbelievable57

Well done for reading the papers LOL.

It will be unfair on evans, jones and smalling if we did sign him://

It seems Chelsea are now in for Thiago, expect them to offer big wages, wonder where he will end up.

Barcelona to play games where is he getting in the Chelsae team??

But u lot have offered him unbelievably irresistible wages already, wages that match Xavi's and Iniesta's. Chelsea don't pay higher wages than Manchester United and we're on a lower wagebill than u lot. Even Citeh couldn't match your wages for RVP. I see that u lot can't really grasp with football finances.
B

Agree0 Disagree4

You really think a Barcelona player is going to play for Mourinho? After what he said about them when he was at Madrid

Agree0 Disagree0

"Chelsea are on a lower wage bill than United. "
Since when? Certainly not reflected in last year's accounts.
Doing a spot of wuming are you B?

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres in on only slightly less than Rooney and RVP. You get what you pay for (in our case anyway lol). Yours and cities wage bill is also higher than ours. Funny how so many Chelsea fans come here's to win an talk rubbish but I never see the reverse. I thought it was just citeh with the small time complex but I see Chelski are feeling it to.

Agree0 Disagree0

Also cited offered RVP more than we didn't he still chose us. Wenger, SAF and RVP himself said this. The petro bucks can't buy everything.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thiago will sign for Manchester United on July 1st
