Dominated most of the half, late flurry from blackburn, DDG top quality saves

For all our dominance we have only created one real chance and unfortunately hit the post. You knew this wasn't going to be easy and Blackburn will be confident after a nice spell at the end of the half. I think Young needs to come in and give us a threat from the left.

Rooney out left then moving in I presume.
Nice to see Pogba on the bench again, hope he gets a good run out.

a couple of weeks ago i suggested we go for Tiote. great defensive player though some people suggest his passing isn't that great. i'm sure with our vast arrange of talent, someone else can do that job after he wins the ball?
however, it is rumoured that Toon are trying to offer him a new contract.

I think that we are going to sign Modric in the summer as our major signing, i also think we have left the way clear for them to go in for Kovacic and Hazard who they have been tracking just as much as we have.

I also dont think that we will sign Kovacic as Barkley is a likely signing maybe the season after next.

I'd be happy if Hazard and Kovacic went to Spurs with Modric coming our way. Clyne would be a good signing, as would Cissokho. Even if we got 3 i'd be delighted. I'd also like us to add Fisher (can't admit to knowing much).

If Park was to leave then i wouldn't be surprised to see a left footed winger come in. Im really not sure who though and at most it would be a luxury. A forward would also be a luxury, i think from SAF's recent comments though i think he is going to offer Owen an extension.

The other luxury would be a center back, we are well stocked but if Ferdinand has one more season left in him i'd like to see a back up player to get beaded in. Dede looks great, i can't lie so i'd like us to go for him.

So overall (IN):

Luka Modric - £30,000,000
Aly Cissokho - £8,000,000
Nathan Clyne - Nominal
Victor Fisher - £5,000,000
Dede - £8,000,000

That would be about a £50,000,000 outlay, but we'd get some of that back with these outgoings and the wages we would save on them:

Tomasz Kuscack - FREE
Ritchie De Laet - FREE
Patrice Evra - £6,000,000
Dimitar Berbatov - £6,000,000
Park Ji Sung - £3,000,000

Evras not leaving buddy, even with him being poor defensively, he's stilll our captain.

HV

Agree0 Disagree0

Reasonable suggestions except for the selling Evra part.
Not gonna happen. Has lapses defensively but still a very important player for us. Also Captain while Vida is out.
wouldn't mind some cover/competition at LB, along with Fabio, but Evra's a good leader and still a very good player.

Martinez should be our number one target, class player

I've seen a few people mention how good it would be to win the title at City. Now don't get me wrong, I would take a title win anywhere but Im not sure if I would rather win it at City or win it the game before and see City faces as they give us a guard of honour before the game. I would question whether they actually would but to not do so would show a severe lack of class.

TK-Red

Believable23 Unbelievable2

Agreed, would be hilarious, imagine how much more bitter they would be. Couldn't see them doing the guard of honour either. Didn't Chelsea do that one year? I mean not do it?

Agree0 Disagree0

When we won the league in 2006/07 our next fixture was at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea did give us a guard of honour to be fair to them but it wasnt quite the same as both clubs put out second string sides.

TK-Red

Agree0 Disagree0

If (and its a big if) we have the title won by the time we go to City I wouldnt expect a guard of honour from City. Seeing Roy Keane and Gary Neville clapping Chelsea onto our pitch in 2005 nearly made me puke, it was pathetic. Public displays of affection for our rivals are not required - if you want to be sportsman like call into the dressing room after and shake their hands and say well done.

IrishRed

Agree0 Disagree0

I would disagree, I think such things are necessary to keep up the few positive images of the game we have left. As much as it makes the home fans feel sick, I would be disappointed to see United show such a lack of respect and NOT clap the opposition out and so should anyone from any club. Lots of clubs have done it for us, we did it for Chelsea and City should be no different, in theory. As you say though, I suspect the reality may be somewhat different. As for seeing Keane and co clap Chelsea out in 2005, SAF made a point of making the players do that as he wanted them to remember how it felt, afterall the negative experiences in a footballers career are just as, if not more, important as the good ones.

Glad to see the quotes from Aly Cissokho's agent, he'd be a really great replacement for Evra who i'm itching to see the back of.

As for the remainder of the story on talksh!t, i don't believe it one bit. I agree that we are interested in him, but not to have him here on a season long loan. We tend not to loan players who are in the first team and i can't see Evra playing second fiddle to anyone.

I've read Aly Cissokho's agent, Ali Barat, has come out and said, well, ''rumour'' has it, that Cissokho prefers a move to the Premiership as it suits his game and that Manchester United is his prefered destination!

Now if this is the case then that is excellent news, along with Strootman story's, the transfer window could be a very nice one for us.

Obviously these are all rumours so far but would be pleased with these two and I would hope this would still leave money to ''play'' with.

Let's hope some of these stories come to fruitation.

Ports

Believable10 Unbelievable0

He would be my preferred choice and i would offer either 10 million or 7 million and Evra.

But i think its most likely his agent trying to stir up interest and using our name.

Hope i'm wrong though.

Ed did you hear anything about Uniteds interest in Aly Cissokho and of the apparent wish of his to join United in the summer according to his agent ?

Devil Dust. {Ed002's Note - I am aware of what his agent has said he would like to move to Manchester United but Milan seems a far more likely destination for Aly Cissokho.}

Believable7 Unbelievable0

I guess a lot will depend on if United make strides to sign him or not. If United throw their hat into the ring then the chances of him joining will increase.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a warrior-like defender but I think technically he's poor and he wouldn't suit us.

Agree0 Disagree0

I want to join Manchester United too.....non-story

IrishRed

Agree0 Disagree0

Cissokho is a poor defender. No easy way to put it. Fabio and raf have far more to offer. plus we have fryers, smalling and jones can cover the position pretty well. If we do sign Cissokho is this a end to evras career? jason Mc

i can't see us signing players exclusively from foreign leagues. Every summer we sign at least one player from the premier league. Not necessarily english but someone with premier league experience. Young and jones last summer. Smalling the year before. Valencia. So on etc. So who is it likely to be this summer?

Not ruling out any signings from abroad as i think we'll make a couple.

Believable16 Unbelievable2

I think this will probably be the case, you know.what your getting when buying from the prem more so than you do if your buying from abroad.

Shappy

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that sir alex has bought the required players from the prem over the past few years that will be the future not only for United but for england, but this summer will be when we will bring in some internationals to help the new young british players with playing in europe and the champions league. I expect a big name striker, 2 midfielders, 1 defensive minded and another attacking minded to come in. Clyne is looking dead set to join and maybe another left back maybe Jordi alba.

JJR

Agree0 Disagree0

Modric...

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopfeully Modric or RVP! (or both)

We can but dream

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't think modric is a target personally as we can't compete financially and it's guranteed others will be in if he is Available. I think we'll look Abroad for a cm

Agree0 Disagree0

JJR there are plenty of seasoned internationals playing in Britain that could come in, for example the likes of Modric of van persie, not saying that we will sign either of those but certainly more likely than Sneijder for example.

Agree0 Disagree0

Of the englishmen:
Hoilett on a free. (well, compo)
Baines.
Sturrage.
Walcott. (I think Fergy could really get him playing)

Can't really think of many others that I'd want.

Non English:
Moderic
Bale
Ba (if cheep)
Enrique (!)

Obviously not all of them!

DodgyBanter

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope we dont sign Modric. Okay he is a good player undoubted, but for a player of his quality he just doesnt score enough goals for me. With his talent and his age he should be getting 10 - 15 goals a season but never gets anywhere near. I want us to get a midfielder who can chip in with a good goal count. The likes of Carrick, Fletcher, Park, Young, Nani, Valencia, Jones (when he plays mid) will just never get the amount of goals that Scholes, Beckham and Ronaldo (when he played on the wing) got from midfield positions. I dont know who that player is by the way, I just dont think Modric is the answer.

Red Pedro

Agree0 Disagree0

Your point about Modric and lack of goals is irrelevant. You would take Scholes any day and he isn't in the 10-15 goal brakcet these days either. We have goals from everywhere esle on the pitch

Manchester United have lined up a £15m deal for PSV Eindhoven midfielder Kevin Strootman, who has been described as "the new Roy Keane".

Source : BBC Transfer Gossip

What ye think, would he be a good signing or not? Is he worth £15m or not? And would he be the new Keane or is that complete bulls**t?

Breeno {Ed002's Note - Manchester United are looking at Kevin Strootman who has previously been watched by Liverpool but I would be surprised if PSV would look to sell just yet. Perhaps one for the summer but I would expect plenty of interest if he does become available.}

Believable9 Unbelievable0

Eds a question..and i might sound dumb here..aren't these signings for the summer transfer window? i mean its not like we can sign players now?

so when you say perhaps one for the summer?what do you mean..

Rudi {Ed002's Note - I mean "perhaps" rather than "certainly" or "definately". Christ this is hard work.}

Eds do you know if anyone has tabs on Victor Moses and Wilfried Zaha? i rate these boys both direct, both dangerous, both young and have great attitudes and work ethnic.

cban {Ed001's Note - Victor Moses has a number of clubs interested in him, Villa seem to be the ones showing the most obvious interest right now. As for Zaha, just about every team in the Prem has had him scouted over the last couple of seasons. I was told that a number of clubs had decided against pursuing interest due to his poor end product. He is now mostly being watched by the mid to lower Prem.}

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Ed001, you saying that clubs have lost interest in him more recently because of poor finishing? Watched him a few times and looked very exciting! When we played Palace earlier in the year he stood out as their most talented player on the ball, was probably playing with a lot of confidence at the time but looked so dangerous!

Also guess Aston Villa aren't that pleased with N'Zogbia then! haha they're already going back to Wigan to find their next talent ;)

Ozwald {Ed001's Note - not so much poor finishing as poor decision making, he has very little end product. He gives the ball away by either trying to do too much on his own, choosing the wrong pass or just being unable to cross or pass the ball. He has the ability, but lacks the most important thing of all, the intelligence to use his ability.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks a bunch. quick question who would you rate as the championships best player this season?

Cban

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Ed001 likes Matty Phillips. If my memory serves me correctly.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

I though Ed001 was describing Nani.

Agree0 Disagree0

I take it Liverpool Villa Stoke and the likes are only interested in him now...he is not good enough for the BIG clubs.
