Reports coming out of Italy that Inter have had a bid accepted for Moura. Apparently £25 million, which is LESS than United offered but not as many installments. I for one would be gutted to see another target slip through our fingers. Ronaldinho, Oezil, Sneijder, Nasri...Moura?

Matt

Believable2 Unbelievable36

Yeah but there has been loads of stories saying that Lucas mouras parents have told sao paolo that he only wants to join united
It also said that anzhi have had a bid rejected as have united but moura doesn't want to move to Russia and says that he was flattered by the rumours linking him to united

Tommy

Sky Italia has in the past said we had signed Sneijder 5 times, RVP had signed for Juventus a month ago, Maicon signed for Chelsea a month ago, Pogba was staying at United and United wanted Del Piero. They are full of it.

Heard tonight that RVP and Moura are a smokescreen for 2 big signings. Gareth Bale and Javi Martinez are the real targets and are close to signing

Mike the Moston Red

Believable15 Unbelievable70

I think bale is a bit overrated but I think we could make him into a fantastic player, and no introduction needed for Martinez an all round great player. Hope it is true mate.
ShaunMUFC

Agree0 Disagree2

Bale just signed a new contract an Martinez has to many sharks in his bowl at the moment plus would rather RVP an moura but defo moura before RVP. But fair play pal finally a rumour good old fashion rumour kinda brings a tear to the eye

CAIN

Agree0 Disagree0

RVP and Moura are far from smokescreens mate. Bale is hardly going to be close to signing either, this would drag on for months and Martinez' agent would have let the world know of our interest. Barcelona, RM, City, Bayern etc all want him.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

AHAHA.... Bale and Martinez brilliant. I love you smokescreen obsessives, you make me laugh every time with your conspiracy theories. I'm suprised you haven't slapped in some rediculous source to 'back up' your rumour. Keep it up 'Smokescreeners'!

Red Joe

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale just signed a new long term contract, not saying it's impossible but highly unlikely. There will be tough competition for Martinez' signature - I'm sure he'd prefer Barca/Real and City would offer him big bucks too, so can't see that either!

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be very happy with bale and martinez...but your talking big money....probably 60m.

Agree0 Disagree0

I bet that's not true, but that would be one AMAZING summer, may offload nani for funding for bale and we wouldn't need him, and martinez is a fantastic player, would be amazing if its true, unlikey but yeh, what's your sourse?

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale just signed a new contract......

Agree0 Disagree0

Great shout Magic Mike rumour has it that these moves will be funded when Utd float on the NY Stock Exchange Glazers finally backing Fergi in the transfer market

Danny from Central Perk

Agree0 Disagree0

Contacts are signed to be bought out. I'm with Danny from Central Perk on this one. Our great owners will release most of the funds from the IPO to pay down the debt and back Fergie in the Market

Mike the Moston Red

Agree0 Disagree2

Danny is talking bobbins, £75m of the float will go to paying down the debt. The rest is going to the Glazers. There is no spare cash for players from the IPO.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't think this is likely but anyone who says Bale is overrated is not on this planet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale just signed a new contract at Spurs which would mean to get Bale we would have to find around £45 million. Can't see that happening!

As for Martinez... I don't think United have shown any interest in him at all.

Yeah, ..and there goes the tooth fairy ..lol

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Don't refer to the club as manu.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree2

G.A.G.U.S - I will refer to the club any way I want to, without consulting you (whoever you are). Little bit arragont of you.

Agree1 Disagree0

O.p. A lot of fans consider 'manu' as disrespectful to the boys who died in the Munich air disaster...... it's not used by United fans.
Mitch. {Ed007's Note - That post should have been edited (probably deleted). And to the OP, I am telling you to stop referring to the club like that, hope that isn't too arrogant for you.}

Well done Eds :)
Hallis

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed you might not post this but might help him understand.

ManU is not a term United fans refer to themselves as. The term is only used by other supporters as a complete and utter insult to our club. The "u" is meant to be "you" by the rival fans.

An early example of its usage is this chant by West Brom fans: "Duncan Edwards is Man Utd, rotting in his grave, man you are Man Utd- rotting in your grave". The origin of "ManU" is a song to insult the dead Duncan Edwards.

Liverpool and Leeds fans copied this with their own man you /u versions to insult all of the lads who died at munich.

"ManU ManU went on a plane ManU ManU never came back again"

and..

"ManU Never Intended Coming Home" (if you combine the first letter of each word you get the word "munich").

I hope this makes it clearer that saying ManU is an insult, particularly to the older supporters and to see United fans using it now is shameful. I hope a few might read this, understand and spread the word.

So... Please REFRAIN from using this term ever again!

GDS

I see in the morning rags that Lucas Moura has been linked to PSG, this move would make sense. Less of a spot light for him to learn his trade in and PSG can pay the fee his club and his agent want, plus he'll get a better wage. I was just wondering if any of the Ed's(especially 002) had heard anything about this?

Shappy {Ed002's Note - I know nothing whatsoever of PSG interest in Moura.}

Believable8 Unbelievable13

Papers are talking about it. I think they are interested but that means nothing if Lucas is not interested in them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for SAF to swallow his pride for once and just increase the offer.

Dan

Agree1 Disagree0

Only a week ago Thiago Silva (at PSG) was saying that Lucas would do well at united.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not a case of swallowing pride so much as it is a case of ensuring we get value for money. £38mil is a huge amount for a player like Moura and I'd rather we didn't spend that much. Don't get me wrong, I'm on board with bringing in attacking talent, but i still think we should be splashing out on a more box-to-box midfielder, eg. Eriksen

And according to some sites, Real Madrid are poised to capitalise on Nani’s failure to agree a new contract by testing United’s resolve with a £19.7m offer for the 25-year-old.

SERIOUSLY....

Madrid have been told 40m for Modric and then people think they can get Nani for under half of that...... are they having a laugh....

£30m + or fook off.......

Believable34 Unbelievable7

Straight swap for Oezil would be nice, although unlikely.

Sydney!

Agree3 Disagree0

Or Sahin and Khedira.

Sydney!

Agree2 Disagree1

Yea hearing the same, if united were to sell him i think they would want no less than £25 mil.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 million plus Khedira...i'd take that. Or 25 with Sahin on loan and first refusal at the end of the season.

Andy

Agree1 Disagree0

Surely if there were legs to this story then Real would have been given the heads up by UTD as we know Jose and Fergie have a good relationship. So saying this is true so far, surely UTD wouldnt consider letting Nani go unless they were suprememly confident of bringing in a replacement i.e Moura or James Rodriguez.

Sambo

Agree1 Disagree0

Id take

1. Oezil straight swap
2. Khedira and Gago
3. £30million
4. Marcelo and Gago

Agree1 Disagree0

So you want gago even tho he just joined valencia

Agree1 Disagree0

Syd, how about Ozil & Sahin on loan ......

oxred

Agree1 Disagree0

£30 mil for an inconsistent (so called by his own fans) Nani? LMAO . £20m max.
Ezdee {Ed004's Note - So you expect united to sell someone who has just had a very good Euro's and who will get 10+ goals and 15 + assists in a season for 20 million when the likes of Henderson etc are going for that?}

Agree2 Disagree0

If lucas is worth 30m then Nani is worth upwards of 30m. He is a champ league and PL winner for crying out loud!

Dan

Agree1 Disagree0

Unless Kenny D is doing the buying , no chance getting £30 mil. I do rate Nani, more than some of the MU fans, but 20-22m is more realistic. But hey, if ya get £30m, good on ya.
Ezdee

Agree0 Disagree0

With reports that PSG want moura i think Sao paulo will get their massive transfer fee. Its goodbye to that option. Face it lads, we won't sign a major player this transfer window. But for godsake Im tired of a lack of info on our targets. do we want our title back cos atm we don't seem to want it enough

Believable15 Unbelievable12

Why would Manchester United publish a list of it's targets? If the Lucas Moura bid had been kept quiet.....maybe we would have more chance of getting him.

I think what we've (supposely) bid is enough. He's another untried talent...with maybe a good chance to become a class act. If PSG want to spend £40 + million on a potentially good player.....good luck to them.

There are better and cheaper options with Premier League experience out there if we want.

Agree0 Disagree0

We're chasing Wanyama though...big names lad, big names.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you got it spot on here, i dont think we will sign anyone else. We have no chance of getting our title back without spending big this summer. Disappointing to say the lease !! :(

Agree0 Disagree0

Re Wanyama - Cantona cost £1 million, Schmeichel cost half that, VDS was £2 million, Ole was £1.5 million....they didnt work out to bad did they!

Agree0 Disagree0

Re Wanyama - Cantona cost £1 million, Schmeichel cost half that, VDS was £2 million, Ole was £1.5 million....they didnt work out to bad did they!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

nice argument, but you could also argue for the other side... BEBE 7m 7ficking mil lol and he is not the only one....

big cost signings do not guarentee big players performing.... VERON.... top player in italy, but did not fit in at mu in the league.....thought he was ok in europe for us..

every signing is a gamble..... Hargreaves.... had he not got any injuries I am sure he would be one of the first names on the team sheet for both us and england but it was not to be.....

I would love to see, Martinez, Modric, Rodriguez, Subotic all come in and transform the team, but we do not have this much money and fergie would never make this many changes......

if he can find a diamond in the rough (on the cheap) then fantastic, but we need someone. even if that is someone from the res's..... Pogba could have been 1 but he has gone. we will just have to wait and see

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest i think its to much cash 2 but id say wer lookin to flip him in a few years....it could be another potential 100m man....and i think he wants to go to united we make some of the most famous attacking footballers in the world like ronaldo, cantona, giggs and even beckham when it comes to fame if he comes and can embrace the premiership i think hel do some magic....lets not loose hope

Agree0 Disagree0

Re transfer targets you have to consider the FIFA Financial fair play rules and the current economic climate. Transfer fees are coming down, despite the media always talking them up. Most Italian clubs are skint with the possible exception of Juve, not much money in Spain either. Only Chelsea have spent significant sums and that is mainly off the back of their Champions League windfall. I think we'll make at least one more signing but get used the the club playing hardball in transfer negotiations. That's the way it should be.

Agree0 Disagree0

Could this alleged match fixing ban faced by Antonio Conte have an effect on the possibility of RvP rejecting a move to Juventas or will Juventas simply cut ties with Conte if he is banned? What do you guys think? Eds feel free to jump in

TheInfamousNoName {Ed007's Note - I don't pay much attention to Italian football TBH but I would say it is usually the president of the club that chooses which players to sign, the coach/manager is always a bit of an afterthought over there. Looks like ED002 was right we were all getting ahead of ourselves regarding Moura Inter seem to be in a stronger position now.

MANRED

Believable10 Unbelievable3

We always get ahead of ourselves regarding big signings ;) All the talk has been from his agent and club primarily and from what they seem to have said over the last two seasons a lot of it seems to be waffle towards getting a ridiculous fee for him. All we do know for certain is Ferguson is genuinely interested in the player. Everything else from the papers, agent and club regarding bids being made, returned higher bids etc etc etc is talk which I dont personally believe can be taken as fact to be honest. Not saying it isnt true but The Ed is obviously correct about getting ahead of ourselves in excitement. My hunch is he is good as signed or we have pulled out altogether, dont see any inbetween and if they have genuinely turned down a bid I dont see us going back in for him at waht is an already inflated price
Invisible STuey

Agree0 Disagree0

I said a while back I thought he would end up at inter but fingers crossed he doesn't

Edd 002 if reports are correct about Lucas owning a % of his contract is it possible for inter to buy the remaning % from his club and Lucas to move to inter with out giving up his %
jred {Ed002's Note - Rumours are true. Inter can certainly buy the remaining ownership but they would still need to agree a fee with his club and tertms with the player. A potentially complex third party ownership/investment deal was part of the Colorado discussions which I explained before. There is certainly a possibility of Lucas remaining with third party ownership if he were to move to Italy or Spain.}

A few players that were on the first part of the tour played against Market Drayton last night. Now all the BIG BOYS are back DeGea, Evra, Jones, Vidic, Nani, Young, Welbeck & Rooney. (is Evans fit yet???)

Who do you think might just sneak a seat on the 2nd part of the tour?

I think maybe M.Keane RB/CB & Thorpe LB/CB might get the nod to cover defenders.

Cole RW/RCM & King LW/CF might get the nod for width in midfield or upfront.

Fergie has seen the likes of Veseli, Vermijl, Wootton, Brady, Blackett, Lingard, Petrucci & Tunnicliffe in South Africa & China and all proved their worth.

So I believe M.Keane, Thorpe, Cole & King might just get the 2nd half of the Tour. Brady, Macheda & Bebe I think will also leave for Norway. Rumour has it Fergie wants these guys on loan by the start of the season. So this is the shop window time.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Anyone else think SAF may be holding back to see how Cleverley performed in the olympics? Looks pretty sharp so far. I can see only a squad player come in in midfield if he keeps fit and continues to show form. Someone like Dembele at 12mill or so. Think RVP will paly at OT next year!

Stuey

Believable9 Unbelievable5

I doubt it. Sir Alex wouldn't have to see how Cleverley did at the Olympic's as he know's the player better.than anyone as he has trained him. Plus for most of the Olympic's Sir Alex was in another country and we've still got the second half.of the tour witch is.likely to limit his ability to watch the rest of them.

I would like to see Dembele at the club and he seems to be a good fit, I also feel that if he came.he could.be.more.than a squad player.

Nuri Sahin. Nice one Fergie...yet another midfielder that we didn't bother making enquiries about and is now on his way to Arsenal on a season long loan.
Why the hell are we not looking at the likes of Sahin, Strootman etc.
Wasting time trying to persuade a 19 year old unproven brazilian kid to play for us which will probably come to nothing and the next thing we know the window shuts!
Sahin would have been perfect for us!

Simmo

Believable28 Unbelievable6

Maybe Fergie didn't want him?

How are the Glazer haters going to blame this one on the money?

GDS

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree.... the one area we have known about for 4 years still not getting the attention it needs...

the sahin to arsenal is all still rumour (although strong) he has not agreed anything and neither have the clubs.... but he would be ideal...

if fergie thinks carrick and scholes are good enough he is wrong.... if anderson and cleverly stay fit for the whole season then yes we will be ok, but still not strong enough to challenge for cl

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah cos strootman is proven. He's a worldy. Get real strootman is over rated and why would we go in for a player on loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

But how do you know we never enquired about him? Media sources seem to believe we have an interest in him.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

If Sahin is that good.....then why are Real Madrid happy to let him go??

Agree1 Disagree0

Mr. No Name

Strootman has been playing in the top Dutch league for two seasons now and is also gets picked regular for the Dutch Squad.
I admitt he is definately not the finished article but i would rather take a chance on Strootman who will cost us between 15-20 million pounds rather than a 19 year old Brazilian unknown kid who would cost us 30 million pound and plays in a shi*te league.
Dutch players always adapt better to the EPL, every brazilian player we have bought has been crap apart from Rafael who is just starting to flourish.
Anderson, Kleberson need i say more.
Sydney...im sure that if we had enquired about Sahin he would of plucked for Man United not Arsenal what with us being a bigger club, more money to offer in wages department and also the connection between Fergie and Jose being close friends.
Sorry Sydney but i don't think they have enquired about him.

Simmo

Agree0 Disagree0

Simmo, Jose has nothing to do with the transfers as he isn't hands on like our manager. Perez deals with the transfers. Also his salary would remain the same whether he went to United or Arsenal.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney

Do you really think that he would opt for Arsenal over Man United...come on seriously!
Plus the fact the dealings we have had with Madrid in the past ie. Beckham, Van Nistelroy, Ronaldo. If we have enquired about him it makes it even worst because he has picked Arsenal over us.

Simmo

Agree0 Disagree0

We do not have a great relationship with RM mate. Perhaps the manager has already lined up his central midfielder? I think it may be Dembele.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

You can't get angry just because a player signs for some1 else! Just because you like him (I rate him too) who's to say Fergy even wants him? I'm pretty sure he didn't just forget to bid for him I'm sure he would have considered a move for him, at least

Thought and posted about Joe Allen last night. But another player caught my eye in a position we need. Neil Taylor, good solid left back and that is what we need as a back up behind Evra. Still only 22 and does a good job at both ends.

Then waking up this morning and seeing TV reportins that Man Utd,Tottenham and Chelsea all have an eye on the left back. Former Man City player would be quality if we turned him in to a top draw left back just to laugh at City.

fearny

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Not sure about Joe Allen but Neil Taylor has also caught my eye in his games for Great Britain (I refuse to call it 'Team GB').

We need a good young left back and I don't think Fabio is the answer in the short or long term. TBH I haven't seen enough of Taylor to say whether he's good enough for Utd but he certainly looks good enough for Olympic under 23 level.

Fifa agent Fabio Parisi claims that Juventus have already offered Van Persie a contract and completed the signing.

Don't think that's much of a miss, we can use
the 20m to buy a LB or a midfielder.

Since we already have Welbeck, hernandez, and rooney.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

It's based on what he thinks though... another load of paper bullsquirts.

ShaunMUFC

Believable9 Unbelievable10

Gladstony and Agnaldo are training with Manchester United this preseason.

The Brazilian pair are part of United's partnership with Desportivo Brasil. Gladstony was at FC Twente on-loan last season.

The midfield duo featuring with our reserves and if they are good, possibilty of getting signed(its all part of work permit and getting the cream della cream of Brazil.

I'm disappointed in this news as I think the twenty odd million pounds plus wage package etc could go toward a central midfield player. Also we won't be getting Lucas Moura unless Sao Paolo drop the asking price, they want 38 million pounds. That is crazy money and that doesn't even factor in wages over the next 4/5 season which are likely to be 60-70k a week atleast.
P.S Told you we weren't after Baines

So you don't want the premier leagues player of the year and top scorer? The man is proven quality and I for one would love him in the our red come the game at Goodson,

Caolán.

I dont think we'll get either - and unfortunately I think Baines will be wearing red on the opening day

It is quoted that RVP has signed for Juventus - BBC Gossip

Caolán there is no doubting his quality, but we did not loss the league on goal difference because we did not score enough.... it was because we conceded too many due to a weak mid-field....

yes he would be a great addition to our squad but we do not need him, we need a dm/cm and the overal cost of purchase and wages could get us a world class dm/cm...

Yeah i heard about that too, Juventus apparently have sealed his signature. Also Baines coming to us is not looking even more likely as everton are looking at LB, here is where i see that:

Everton manager David Moyes has been to Copenhagen to assess Danish left-back Bryan Oviedo, 23.

So yeah Moura is staying put, Van persie will come as i think the news on him going Juventus is bull**it and baines is on his way hopefully we get dembele

I honestly think that even though RVP is totally the wrong fit for Uniteds ransfer policy, he is being brought it to attempt to achieve more immediate success (rather than longterm) in order for SAF to retire on top. In that respect it makes total sense and I think even if we got only 3 good years out of him, a transfer of £20-22 is only £7m a year. Thats sustainable if he helps us in the short term until the younger players mature.

Notice that it says BBC gossip (gossip not news) and the story is from the Mirror. The same paper that said we signed Moura for 26m a few weeks ago.

That Italian agent is a nutter. For a start he would know it is illegal to sign any contracts if you are already under cotract by another club and the club haven't given you permisiion (i.e. excepted a bid).
What a S**stirring nutcase!
