Well done to the academy for winning 5-1 in the fa youth cup. What a rocket of a goal from Blackett!

Anyone watching the FA Youth Cup game tonight against Swansea? It's currently 4.1 to United, it's been pretty easy TBH. By rights this team shouldn't be doing well in the youth cup this season as the majority are first year graduates, but sometimes beautiful football beats size and power. Looks like they are finally starting to gel and there's no Pearson, Januzaj or Perreira.

How did Barmbys lad do, looked special in the Milk cup, missed the game tonight

They look good, barmbys kid looks good played well again

Agree0 Disagree0

They all played well, this crop of youth are playing a different way to what they were playing like last season. It's quick passes, quick 1-2's, always playing from the back. I think this is what SAF meant by mimicking Barcelona, he must have meant from a youth level. Daehli, Pearson & Januzaj are iniesta/Xavi/Cesc type players, Perreira is similar again but with a deadly goal threat. I think SAF has a plan here and it will take around three years to see it pan out, another reason why I think the manager will be around for a few more years. Next season we will see the best of these guys at academy level.

Very even game then in a 10 minute spell 3-0 the players then seemed to relax and play some excellent football, dahli again very impressive van velsen seems to have more to his game this year blacket and ekemenuie looked solid also jack rudge impressed me in midfield.

Fantastic performance considering the age and size of the team. Also 10 players missing through injury last night .Nice to see James Wilson back with a substitute appearance and what a fantastic player Joshua Harrop looked with a nice little cameo performance at the end.
Harrop & the centre back Nicholas Iolumu still at school, future looking good.

Agree0 Disagree0

Swansea beat Liverpool 3.1 two rounds ago, so they are not a bad team. United could have scored eight quite easily on another day.

I get Daehli and Rudge mixed-up sometimes, since Daehli has joined, a lot of Daehli's ways have rubbed off on young Rudge. We have a good batch of youngsters here, Januzaj is a massive talent, Pearson is quite like Modric with his good control, low gravity and good balance. Looking forward to seeing Perreira pull on the shirt.

Sydney!

We also have four quality goalkeepers in Gollini, Sutherland, Coll & Jacob. The future is very bright for our club.

after alexandre pato made available if Ac milan got TEVEZ, SAF considering a bid for him. as berba and owen will leave he wil fit in the plan.. very good striker, fast and can play out wide also. figure thought to be around 22m. him and roooney wil be a lithel partnership.

Thats pato , ganso and hazard all available
might be a bit of business this summer

He's good but injury prone. I think Chelsea would be interested along with psg, pushing the price up.

Supasub

Agree0 Disagree0

A great player and a possible future star but he's very injury prone.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

Many players are very injury prone, the Da Silva's being just one of many injury prone players in the top of the top flight. I think that Pato would be an excellent signing to be honest, i felt we missed a trick in not going for Aguero, he could have been great with Rooney. I think Pato could be a good shout, if the fee was realistic.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with Supasub. Pato's a quality player, but very injury prone, and the price would surely be much more than 22m!

The twins didn't cost us £30m and a further £25m in wages over five years. You do not spend a fortune on an injury prone player, that's plain dumb. We also did go for Aguero along with Chelsea & RM and he snubbed us all.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yea right syd we went for aguero like we did villa

Agree0 Disagree0

We offered Aguero a package and he declined. Aguero was happy to play for ANY club who met his demands and we now know that was nearly £300k a week. Like I said he turned down packages offered by RM and Chelsea too. United paid £18m for DDG from AM, do you not think we would have doubled that amount to bring in Aguero? Like I have always said, transfer fees are doable, ridiculously high wages are not.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont care what anyone says a footballer does not need to earn more than 50K a week! I love the sport as much as anyone else but the governing bodies need to bring in something as it is just a joke!!

As for Ganso and Pato? We will sign neither and Hazard will end up at Citech!! I can only see us making maybe two signings come summer. One will be a forward player and one will be a defender, With the likes of Cleverley, Carrick, Anderson, hopefully Pogba and hopefully Fletcher. Fergie will not be looking for another MF I reckon!

i think hazard will end up at chelsea, i do agree we wont but a cm much wore likely to go for a defender or two

Agree0 Disagree0

We hv a guy who is as fast as Pato, younger & still developing. Hernandez..! Apart frm tht I think we need a proper hitman kinda guy. Someone like Drogba, Rooney IMO is more of a deep playing guy. When I say hitman, I refer to younger players(compared to Drogba) like Hulk, Cavani, Toress & Persie. Any of these guys could become the next Nistelrooy or Cole i.e. a LEGEND. Wt do you think Syd/Eds/regulars.

IBleedBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

They would all cost big money, but if pos i would be happy with any of them
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

Thts true they would cost us a fortune. But imagine a 4-4-2 diamond formation. Welbeck-Cavani/Hulk/Toress/Persie Rooney(CAM) Valencia/Nani(RW) Young(LW) Carrick(CDM) Smalling(RB) Vidic & Jones(CB) Evra(LB).

I think our defence problem aint bigger thn our need of a scorer & a playmaker.

Ezekiel Fryers now stalling over new contract.

Scrud101

Believable7 Unbelievable17

Its been reported on sly spurts , spurs are among a number of clubs interested
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

He wont go, this is another tactic from the press to unsettle our club. 1st it was morrision, then welbeck, pogba and now fryers.
we have some very exciting youngsters coming through, we not had this many since the neville/beckham/scholes and butt days.
morrison sadly had to go there was no other option. all the others i am 99% will sign contracts and go on to be 1st team regulars. our future looks bright
jenny

Agree0 Disagree0

We need to keep hold of Fryers, he's gonna turn out a quality player, I hope it can be sorted out with him.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't need to hold on to anyone , he's done nothing and could be a good player, hundreds of that kind of player around , his loss not ours

Agree0 Disagree0

No name
He's already a GOOD player, he will be a GREAT player. Last summer most on here was saying give youth a chance, sign them up to long term contracts etc etc etc. It now seems that some would be happy to let them go and its baffling me. These young boys are the future, I just hope there United's future, we can't afford to let them go.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

We are Manchester united we sold ronaldo ........em enough said

Young Irish

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a good player at reserve level, nothing more , my point is that if he leaves a club like man utd for more money then I'll guarantee he won't become a great player. The problem is we all watch mutv every week and see these amazing kids play but that doesn't mean they will become good enough to play in the frost team, loads of promise but chasing the cash won't help them develope one bit

Agree0 Disagree0

Am sure. I read he's a city fan

Agree0 Disagree0

Let him go , no better than average. He will never be good enough for United ,he's not got the height to be a top class centre back and cannot defend on his right hand side. He's certainly quick but very limited in attacking areas and runs out of ideas when faced by more than one defender when playing at left back.If he stays he could be a useful squad player ,noting more.

Agree0 Disagree0

Herbie be honest he is not a good player yet he is a good player for reserves not first team he got potential everyone can see that but does not mean he will develop into anything,, an to the guy who sai he to short to be a centre back it's a good job he a left back then ain't it

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that some of these young lads who are coming up to the 1st team level should be looking over their shoulder at the lads who are coming through the acadamy behind them before demanding 1st team wages!
