Looks like Nick Powell is heading to peterborough Utd on a loan spell, im quite dissapointed really as id have thought a lower prem team would of helped him more, what do you lot think? (source, Nick Powell page).

Rouge Diablo :)

Believable41 Unbelievable4

Why not a team like swansea..

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly, I accept he's only 18 but he could benefit a prem team even as a rotation/backup option, a few games under his belt and he'd be much better and confident going into next season..oh well, hope he does well werever he ends up :)

Rouge Diablo :)

Agree0 Disagree0

In the next couple of days Nani will be heading to San Siro and Snjeider will be heading to OT. Even with the latest comments by Sir Alex on Nani a close source has told be this deal is the most likely and will be completed early in January.

Karni

Agree2 Disagree10

He doesnt have enough premier league experience to be able to settle at a premier league team and make the max out of a loan deal. So imo some playing time in the championship will only benefit him, and this summer he will be assesed on tour to see if he's ready to be thrown in the deep end or he needs another loan deal, to a pl club.

Mick

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Henriquez has gone to wigan and he has no premier league expierience powell has at least played in the premier league!

Agree1 Disagree0

Powell should be playing for a lower EPL team. This is nothing more than SAF helping out his son. I am disappointed.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok, so you'd rather he was backup option with lets say a reading, than in the conference with peteborough playing week in week out?

Grubbo

Agree0 Disagree0

He is at least likely to start games, lik Grubbo says he could just be sat on the bench for an EPL side.

6 solid months in the Championship could be very beneficial, remember he came to us from League 2.

When he comes back he will have gained good experience and will still be v young.

What is all this fellaini talk can someone fill me in? Was at school today and heard nothing!!

Caolán.

Believable7 Unbelievable22

School? On the 2nd of January? Bloody hell Caolan! But I don't know where it's coming from, it hasn't really been on any of the major websites...I can't decide if i'd like him at the club...he's grown into more of an attacking midfielder, and I really don't think we need one of those!

twitter people think that we're supposedly in negotiations just because he has red devils in his bio on twitter.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Red Devils are the Belgian national team

That's their nickname

Philiphs93

Agree0 Disagree0

He's moved to Manchester which is where the rumour probably started.

Agree0 Disagree0

He moved to manchester because he says he is getting swamped by females in liverpool, and less people will recognise him there lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

He would not fit into our team so please leave out the silly gossip about him

Agree0 Disagree0

If he doesnt want to get recognised then get a haircut lol and i think he will leave everton soon but not sure if he will come here

He moved to Manchester cos city are to sign him with grabatelli going the opposite way

Rumour has it we are close to agreeing a fee with Everton for Fellaini! We can only hope!

Red MUFC

Believable18 Unbelievable64

I dont want Felliani at United... A good centre mid but he is much better as the second striker we have Kagawa and Rooney and RVP who can play there.

Agree0 Disagree2

Where are these rumours coming from?

Luke

Agree0 Disagree1

Witsel went for 26m
Hazard went for 32m
Dembele went for a bargain 15m
Everton will want 20m in this window maybe more for Felliani. I can only see this deal happening if Fletcher is in trouble again with his illness. Or maybe Anderson's injury is a lot worse than expected & he'll be out a few months. Other than that we won't spend that amount of money on a panic buy.

M'Vila, Moutinho & Strootman could be snapped up for around 15-20m so who would be more welcome at the Red Devils.

I've heard Felliani has recently moved to Manchester. Maybe there are some legs in this rumour.

the rumour started on twitter unfortunately! EPL Statman tweeted the rumour!

Red MUFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone who thinks this wouldn't be a great signing knows zero about football. He is the EXACT type of player united need, and is proven in the premiership. £20mil is a low estimate though, £15mil was the initial fee paid by Everton (raising to 17). Before he was proven.
Unfortunately I don't think there is any depth to this rumour.
I'd like the source if poss?

Patzi {Ed004's Note - He is not the exact type of player united needs... So who is going to start ahead of in our attack, Rooney, Kagawa, RVP, Hernandez? He isn't a world class midfielder so he won't start ahead of Carrick or Cleverley in midfield. He has an awful attitude head butting, punching and stamping on players in the past when things aren't going for him etc he would not suit Europe either IMO playing against small players who are excellent technically something which he isn't. He doesn't suit our play as at Everton the ball is lumped forward to him. Dont get me wrong he is a good player but suits Everton and not the style of play we are trying to implement}

Agree1 Disagree1

I think he could do a box to box job, i also think his attitude punching and stamping on players could add something to the team
jred

Agree1 Disagree1

So what does this make us? As the team he single handedly Owned on the opening day of the season? Do you support united Ed004? Or Stoke? As your referring to the head butting etc. I for one like a player who can bully a little in a physical league like this.
De gea
Rafa Jones Vidic Evra
Carrick
Kagawa fellaini Young/Welbeck
Rooney V persie

Looks a little weak on the left with young and Welbeck. Just a quick thought anyway...

Patzi {Ed004's Note - I obviously support united and you claim others have no footballing knowledge yet you suggest Carrick play on his own with little protection as you suggest Felliaini and Rooney will both be playing in an advanced role there and it is on more than one occasion Felliani has stamped or lashed out at a player. What do you get for 20 million? Someone who is good in the air and what else. He isn't exactly creative, he doesn't offer much defensively or hasn't this season, his passing is average, he doesn't seem to have a good work rate or mentality if he is lashing out at players, he doesn't appear to be loyal... I can think of many better players thàt would suit the united style of quick passing on the ground not in the air. You are basing him on one game against us by the sounds of it and every player can have a good game. At Everton he looks good because the team is built to his strengths. That is not going to be the case here...}

Agree0 Disagree1

Is my side of the Fellaini debate ineligible for posting? That's fair..

Patzi {Ed004's Note - The site hadn't been edited yet a bit of patient wouldn't be bad...}

Agree0 Disagree1

Well obviously the jury's out, lol. I have obviously watched him quite a few times over the last couple of seasons, and felt he was as near to Yaya that was available. And i like physical players. And also a big Carrick fan, so feel he needs protecting as well clear paths for his precise passing. I do hear all the constant Strootman campaign, but am not in a SURE position on him as I've only seen little of him.
On another note, I honestly do feel that anyone who doesn't rate him, has a lack of football knowledge. But concede that my view is massively due to his destroying us in the opening game. This is only my opinion.
If I'm honest I'd prefer Wanyama, as I've seen a lot of him as I follow Celtic too (painful as it can be). Celtic blood, united heart lol

Patzi {Ed004's Note - I would prefer Wanyama as well, however, I am not sure his passing is good enough for united and he doesn't seem to work very hard and he isnt the quickest. I also haven't seen enough of Strootman to pass judgement.. Also Fellaini's passing hasn't been very good so far played a few short passes in this Everton game and Baines really is a quality player. I would love to see him here this january}

Agree0 Disagree1

Edd 004
the thing is he gives us something we haven't we got
that must be worth something
jred {Ed004's Note - Not if it's something that doesn't fit into our game at all and I can't see us changing to utilise it... So how many people on here want to see us changing from playing quick technical players like Kagawa to signing players that we will just lump the ball forward to ?}

Agree0 Disagree1

Baines is a must, consistently brilliant. Fellaini rumour has no legs to it you'll be glad to know. I've scoured all credible sites and nothing..

Patzi {Ed004's Note - His freekick there was stunning. That absolutely flew in}

Agree0 Disagree0

Imagine us playing Barca, or Dortmund in the champions league or the upcoming games with Madrid with that clogger in the team, god we'd get destroyed. Busquets would get him sent off inside of 20 minutes.

As the ed says he's good for Everton, they are built around him. We wouldn't build a team around him and he's not good enough technically for what we are trying to do.

You can't really base the whole we should sign him and anyone who thinks otherwise is an person based on (as you admit) just 1 game where we wasn't at the races.

Agree0 Disagree1

No name, you can lickk up to the Eds as much as you want, but when did I say we 'should'? I said (a bit hastily, as I hadn't done my own homework) anyone who doesn't think it a great signing. And it isn't based on 1 game. I like most else who goes to the bother of posting on this site watch lots of football. There are others I'd prefer. But would definitely be very happy if we did sign him. As I feel we need someone hard in midfield. We never replaced Keane. Keane Was awesome, yet by no means was he iniesta or xavi or blah blah blah. We are united, not barcaeffinglona. We could defo do with some balls in midfield.
And how do you expect us to play Barca anyway? Sign THEIR midfield and out pass them?
Jred, thanks for bit of backing lol. And ed, I see where your coming from, and maybe will review my posts before submitting next time lol. It is certainly unfair of me to accuse those of different opinions to my own un-knowledgable...lol. Great goal from Baines

Patzi {Ed004's Note - I also think we need a physical presence but someone that is better on the ball. Would like to see either Bender or Wanyama or ideally Vidal or Witsel}

Agree0 Disagree1

02 Jan 2013 21:55:37
It is probably a twitter rumour doing it's rounds because he has recently moved to Manchester. Fellaini is not available for purchase and to be fair doesn't suit our style of play. Not the style the manager is trying to implement.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree1

For me its like this in terms of choice:
1. Witsel
2. Vidal
3. Cirigliano
4. Wanyama

patzi you need to do your homework as your back at school next week. You clearly said that your opinion was massively based on the first game of the season. Now your saying you didn't say that? I wasn't sucking upto to ed, just supporting my own opinion. That he is a technically limited player that isn't technically proficient enough to the level required of a manchester united player, or the style we are trying to implement. In the managers words a more barcelona type style. He wouldn't cope against teams like barcelona with their small agile fast players. He'd collect cards like no tomorrow. As for how do you play barcelona well the answer isn't a violent thug who kicks out whenever things don't go his way or the ball doesn't drop how he would like it and exposes his technical limitations. He was a disgrace against stoke even his own manager said that. And don't come that stoke are a physical side he overstepped the mark. Its a sad day if he pulls on a red shirt.

Agree1 Disagree0

Edd he plays a different position for Belgium i dont think we will sign him but i do think he would be a very good player for us

jred

Agree0 Disagree0

No name, your moving the goal posts here now. You clearly are one of the 'posters' on here that falls under the 'knows nothing' tag, to which I did say. Your prior message accuses me of making my 'whole' analysis on 1 game. Now your conceding it was massively influenced by the opening game of the season. Well, like many other fans, it was. I obviously knew of Fellaini abilities before hand as we have been linked to him since his Standard Liege days.
Least we forget Zahas being scouted was triggered by his stand out performance against us in the cup in 2011. Please leave this quote from Ferguson stating he wants to turn us into Barcelona as I must have missed that 1.
As for wanting a Solid keane like midfielder who isn't scared of put his neck on the, I think you'll find most of the United fans want to see this. The fact you don't want to see a physically bossing midfield for us. Makes me(and probably other readers of your posts) think your the little 'Barcelona supporting' girl who is back at school next week, as you have clearly only followed after the Robson / Keane days...
I would like to add that I did backtrack a little over my first post, as it was a little immature. And I apologise to any other little girls I may have offended..

Patzi

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed004 appears to have little knowledge of Fellaini. Yes, he was poor last night, what do you expect after a spell out. He hasn't a lot of technical ability ? Well, for me, for all round ability and sheer versatility he has NO peers. He has oodles of technical ability. As an all-round midfield player he is by far the best in the premier league and is twice the player Carrick is. He's also scored 8 goals in 14/15 games ? Not bad at all

Baldrick {Ed004's Note - I honestly can't be bothered arguing about Fellaini anymore you have your opinion on him and I will completely disagree with the majority of what you are saying... I wouldn't even class him in the top 5 midfielders in the Premier league, and I'll let you go ahead and compare him with the main midfielder of the top team in the Premier league atm who is one of the main reasons the club is were it is atm because Fellaini has a massive "8 goals"}

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair point Ed, everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I fail to see your logic or rationale implying Carrick is better. And he isn't a nasty player far from it. What he did was wrong but how many times has it happened ? Once, there you go, see, he's no bully.
Baldrick {Ed004's Note - That is not the first time he has lashed out at players in the past he has stamped on players etc, also I can't remember the last time Fellaini has dominated a midfield on his own, and what I mean by that is by sitting deep and doing it not having someone lump the ball to him, that requires supply which is what United need to improve on. I do not see were Fellaini suits the united play, he isnt the best defensively and his passing is not at a high enough standard so he will not dominate games and dictate the play. He also would not start behind the striker ahead of Kagawa or Rooney imo...}

Agree0 Disagree0

My guess United need Fellani before the next meeting with Everton ..otherwise it'll be 3 poInts lost LOL

Agree0 Disagree0

He would be fantastic for us, but he'd cost way over 20m, more like 30m I'd say.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellaini is a quality player. People who don't watch him week after week think he's just good in the air. Very unfair. If you do need a get out ball his chest control is immense and he will give the ball to others who can play from there. Sets up so many attacks for us and would bring uniteds flair players into the game. He is equally adept at playing in front of the back four, breaks up play so well and would be able to give the ball easy to carrick etc, he would also give u an extra option if chasing a goal late on. he is aggressive and that spills over, that would be my concern, he will cope for ability on big euro nights but would you want ten men on the field after five mins of a champs league final? Anyway I digress, he will cost min 30 million so can't see fergie paying that! He's twice the player of the kid at Celtic though.

Man Utd in talks with inter milan over play+cash deal for Wesley Sneijder involving Nani, could be why Nani has had an injury he didnt pick up in a game for however many weeks, and why Sneijder is pushing so hard to leave. Him + Van Persie would be lethal.

Believable27 Unbelievable42

Not this again...

JK92

Agree1 Disagree0

Anybody knows if sneijder would be cup tied for champions league? if not i could see dutch being the new flavour of SAF.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not going to happen...wes and RVP cant stand the sight of each other and SAF believes in harmony in the dressing room..

Agree0 Disagree0

Complete rubbish!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sniejder is not cup tied coz he has not featured in this seasons UCL

Agree0 Disagree1

U out of ur mind? Inter is offering him for only 10m. So what u mean to say nani + cash.. Means nani is worth 2 or 4m? Non sence.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not this again for gods sake.

He isn't cup tied as Inter are only in the Europa League.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sneijder, Rooney & van Persie would be our highest paid players if he comes.

How do we play them all with Kagawa also in contention for that hole/behind the striker position Roo/Sneijder like to play in?

-----Carrick--Cleverley--
Kagawa--Sneijder--Rooney
------------RVP----------

In a 4-2-3-1 they could all alternate positions & be an unstoppable 4 prong attack.

Of course we wouldn't play this formation every week. So our wingers Young & Valencia will get games before anybody panics.

TJ

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with JK92, this is tiresome BS. As correctly stated later on thread. RVP and Wes HATE each other. Not to mention Wes can be secured for £14-15mil. So why would we give them Nani? A gift maybe...lol

Patzi

Agree0 Disagree0

TJ

Sneijder has played out left in a 4231 for Holland so I'd swap him and Rooney around. That looks a pretty lethal lineup IMO and as you say, they'd all interchange.

I don't believe the Sneijder rumours though and don't really want him at United. But if there were any truth in a swap between him and Nani (ideally with us getting cash on top) I'd go for it.

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't believe in the swap rumours, but do recall Andy Cole and Teddy Sheringham not speaking with one another yet they shared many goals for United

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh good god, please not again! Fergie WILL NOT, and i repeat, WILL NOT, go back in for him for many obvious reasons. That shipped sailed, he had his chance and declined... Not a player Man Utd or Fergie want at the club anymore, as the badge doesn't mean aything to him.

Grubbo

03 Jan 2013 17:36:38
Because he asked for more than we where willing to give him you don't want him now at a great price. non-cup tied and experience to match. if we don't get him now, I will lose all faith in our buying power. we were willing to pay his price, not his wage, but these things should no longer be an issue.

All the people who jump on a band wagon of he had his chance and turned us down are fools. class is class we should not let him get away now just to save face.

On a serious note those who say they don't want him here could write all they know about football on the back of a stamp

Is Joshua King another casualty of the 'Pogba syndrome' ? Anybody know anything of Petrucci lately havent really heard much since he had his barney with Nani!

RedKen

Believable21 Unbelievable4

King was never going to be good enough for us.... Petrucci on the other hand imo is very unlucky not to have been picked for first team football as I think he is good enough at least to get some game time but I think he will end up going to Inter or Juve for next to nothing cash wise and end up worth millions.

Agree0 Disagree0

King was never going to make it at United. Pogba is the ONLY youth player that has left United who the club wanted to keep.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

I guess thats why its called 'Pogba Syndrome'

Agree0 Disagree0

Petrucci was offered a return to Italy by a few top clubs last summer but decide to stay. He has stated he wants to make it at United. He signed a new deal in the summer & was saying how he'd love to play for United & can't wait to play. He certainly has the right attitude than the likes of Morrison, Pogba & Fryers. United coaches & staff seem to be looking after him well. Remember he lost nearly 2yrs development & playing time. It won't be long before Petrucci will get game time. I've a feeling he will replace Carrick in 2yrs time. I expect a seasons loan next season first.

TJ

Agree0 Disagree0

King is 20 and hasnt made it into the team so i think that was a good deal as he probably never would have been good enough anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

I imagine he went for around £300k.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

King has all the energy and pace in the world, he's just short on quality. Petrucci on the other hand is a finished article. a couple of years back, Petrucci was mentioned in the same breath as Halilovic and Fischer are now. I hope he gets a chance sooner rather than later, I would hate to see him leave.

Real Madrid are still hopeful of keeping Cristiano Ronaldo but Manchester United are monitoring the situation. SAF has secretly indicated that he would be prepared to part with Wayne Rooney if it secures the return of Ronaldo. SAF has never really forgiven Rooney for publicly questioning Uniteds ambition prior to signing his contract 2 years ago. The arrival of Van Persie and his blossoming partnership with Hernandez has convinced SAF that Rooney can now go. Real Madrid have indicated that they could be interested in a swap deal involving Rooney

Believable27 Unbelievable50

I would be over the moon with this deal. Ronaldo is much fitter than Rooney and injured far less, he would play on longer. Ronaldo would take Rooney's salary. Rooney, DDG & a little cash could seal the deal. Sign Baines, Lewy, Strootman & a new keeper and be done with it. Begovic, Baines, Lewy & Strootman wouldn't cost £50m.

We can all dream ;)

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree1

02 Jan 2013 16:49:22
Not sure Real would really want Rooney, his style of play, and general lack of fitness, would not fit in with top class Spanish football.DDG will probably go to Real and the rest of Ronaldo's fee would have to be raised by selling Nani, perhaps Anderson and Wellbeck. I'd be sorry to see Rooney leave because I think he could become a great midfielder.

The arrival of Van Persie and his blossoming partnership with Hernandez has convinced SAF that Rooney can now go

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd
so would you like to sell rooney
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney will not be sold exchanged for anyone SAF has said many times not even for Ronaldo, to get Ronaldo we would need to smash what Real paid for him it will not happen this season and if he signs a new contract it wont happen next year either i hope he does come back but not at the expense of Rooney. Katef

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha as much as i'd love to see Ronaldo back in a United shirt i really doubt it.

And Sydney! You would want to get rid of the future best goalkeeper in the world? Madness.

Ozwald

Agree1 Disagree0

Got to admit I question Rooneys commitment and professionalism to the cause now that he is not the main man. He seems very demotivated this season. At this moment I wouldn't mind Rooney going but if he bucks up his ideas, and starts to play to his potential again then obviously I would like him to stay.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok, so you clearly made up that "SAF has never forgiven Rooney", but he obviously has because he have him a contract worth 250k a week. Rooney is a top player, and I'm sure there are other players in united's squad (Nani, Anderson, evra) who could be sold to big clubs to raise funds. Real will realise that they will make the most money from selling Ronaldo in the summer or next jan, and united is the perfect club for him to join and will pay loads for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do not want to sell Rooney, but I would swap him for Ronaldo in an heartbeat. Ronaldo is three times the player Rooney is.

Sydney!

Agree2 Disagree0

Syd
i would sell the wife and kids for ronaldo but imo its not going to happen

jred

Agree0 Disagree0

SAF likes Rooney he always tries to strengthen his team and you think swapping is strengthening the team i don't there is other departments he could sell (Anderson, welbeck, Nani, lindegaard) to raise the funds for ronaldo.. he will not get rid of Rooney he has stated it before.

Think young, Rooney, ronaldo, with RVP in front that's the deadliest strike force in the world!

Liverpool overpaying for players again!? Sturridge for £12 mil is laughable.

Believable34 Unbelievable12

Sturridge imo has not proved himself consistantly at prem level and every time i watch him he is very greedy with a poor end product, surely they could have spent 12m on someone with more experience and a better goalscoring record, cant see him as the answer to what they need, i hope im proved right!

phil

Agree0 Disagree0

I am not sure they would have signed him if anyone else were interested in him. The £1.5m he is pocketing from the deal would have helped too. He done well at Bolton so perhaps at another mid-table club he will do okay.
