With madrid on the verge of signing sahin (theres a story in marca for those who want it) could this open the door for lassana diarra to move? surely he wouldn't enjoy being 3rd or 4th choice? thoughts anybody?

I've read a few articles saying Sahin has verbally agreed to join Real Madrid in the summer.

I don't know if it's true but if it is, you've got to wonder how many more players can they buy?

They always seem to get their man.

Let's go player by player. If we're trying to sign De Gea and Sanchez and we're pretty close it's great because it gives us the whole summer to find our ideal CM. Don't forget Pogba and Tunniclife

May I pass on my condolences to the family and friends of Eddie Lewis Busby Babe who passed away. He once went on holiday with Duncan Edwards to Butlins at Filey. They were wearing blazers with MUFC on the breast and when the girls asked them what it stood for they said "Mr Universe Filey Camp". Eddie I hope you're with the rest of the babes and also with Sir Matt and Jimmy. God Bless. RAINFISHTROMBONE

Somebody substantial will be wearing the number 7 shirt next season, that's certain. And it won't be Michael Owen. United want Sanchez and Sanchez wants United. Lets hope they can get the deal done.

To second red comrade - no mate I'm sorry but you are wrong. It was Friday with us .I know this for 100%fact and also that on Saturday his reps talked to city before heading off to London. As I stated before I wasn't told his people had gone to talk to Chelsea just a London club but lets face it it can only be Chelsea. This is 100% correct.

The meeting with United officials was on saturday morning wasnt it?. @ Second Red Comrade and your quote -

No it was Friday as scheduled and the meeting that you refer to was unfortunately with City. That was due to be on Friday also but was moved to be after ours. Wonder why.

More worrying is the fact that Sanches reps then moved further off the grid and headed to London. That can only be to hold talks with Chelsea.

So things remain the same with us , City & Chelsea thrown into the mix but our talks went very well was the quote and the player is a self confessed Utd fan.

Lets just cross everything.

{Ed002's Note - I am sorry but there has been no face-to-face discussions between Chelsea and representatives of Udinese or Sanchez' representatives since the meetings held in Monaco in January.}

What about sandro? {Ed002's Note - Ah, MOTD fever. I suspect if Sandro leaves it will be to one of the Milanese clubs, Juventus or Napoli.}

{Ed002's Note - The clubs only need to spend what it takes to refresh the squad. The big plan is to buy young Brazilians and eventually have the entire Brazilian national team as home grown players.}

can you expand on this statement please and explain whether this is a statement referring soley to mufc or all clubs, as it seems like a slant on our club, obviously every club can't have the brazil national team, we have links with a youth club in sao Paulo and have hopes of uncovering a gem or two, this is forward thinking and not to be confused with us not being able to spend!
Ste 73

{Ed002's Note - If you read the note in its original context you will see it is in response to a comment by Syd about Chelsea rather than Manchester United. Although I have no doubts that several other clubs are done paying large amounts for young players and with the advent of the revised rules are looking to bolster their involvement in South America, and for that matter Africa. Dutch and Portugese clubs have been moving in this direction for a number of yeras. The homegrown rule has backfired to a certain extent as English clubs are now looking to actively bring players across when they are of an age.}

I don't believe anything about Sanchez that I'm reading on here. Surely if there was a player going to meet a club to talk about a transfer. . it would be all over sky sports breaking news?

I know SAF wants him and I know he wants to join United.

I think if United do sign Sanchez then Nani can be used in a player plus cash deal to get Wesley Sneijder? (from what I've been reading on here). {Ed002's Note - There is no way that Sanchez has himself met with any club - and I don't think any one is suggesting that. However, his representatives have previously met with certain clubs with the approval of Udinese.}
