Ed002, I noticed your reply about Guardiola (6 jobs being offered). Do you know of the managers job being offered to anybody?

Thanks in advance.

MPez {Ed002's Note - I would very much doubt I used "offered" in the post. The second sentence needs a little elaboration - which job?}

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Your rodeo clown job.

Agree0 Disagree0

I really hope Giggs can work as an assistant to Pep in the future.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree1

Ed002, you said you doubt 6 jobs were offered, not that they were offered.
W
SAF's job, has it been offered to anybody, that you know of

MPez {Ed002's Note - You need to go and read what I wrote - you are very much misinterpreting what I said.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Ed lets be fair, you said something about 6 jobs not being offered and either you or 004 asked who those 5 coaches Pep allegedly wants to bring in would replace.
Who says they have to replace someone?
They could be added on top of what is there already.
I could imagine offering more focused training on certain parts of the game in smaller groups, or more individual training for certain players.

Bringing someone in doesn't need to cost someone else's job

Jonny8 {Ed002's Note - "Not being offered" makes way more sense. Right, as far as I am concerned it is all BS.}

looks like lewandowski is'nt coming but maybe llorente in the summer.

Believable7 Unbelievable47

We dont need him rooney, rvp, little p and welbeck and rvp is oldest out of the 4 and he got 3-4 years in him for us ball winner in midfield is a better move for saf.

guys why are we talking about lewandowski or ronaldo? We need a midfielder, preferably two. We can't go into next season with just carrick and cleverley as the only good midfielders we have. Anderson is too injury prone. Fletcher hats off for trying but he's a long way off. Powell is too young. Scholes and Giggs need to just retire we can't go into next season with those guys although i'm worried we will. Rooney isn't a midfielder and sneijder isn't the answer. We don't need an out and out defensive midfielder, the makelele type is becoming extinct. We need high energy box to box types who can tackle and do the donkey work.

Believable37 Unbelievable4

Cough Kagawa cough. One more would be nice though.

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm actually going to take SAFs side on this one. I wouldn't mind signing Wanyama but I would say we should give Tunnicliffe a chance next season in the first team. He is the exact type of player everyone is wanting and it would be a bit unfair in the spirit of the club to sign someone else ahead of him without giving him a chance.

Dan

Agree1 Disagree0

One more is needed, Strootman would do for me. My ideal shopping list would be Baines, Strootman & Ronaldo.

Fresh!

Agree2 Disagree0

Just one needed for me too, to compliment what we already have. Bender or Strootman would be good options.

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney in to Midfield, there I said it.

Agree0 Disagree0

You would be crazy to not want Ronaldo back at OT. Sure we need a left back and a cm but why wouldn't you want the most devastating player available?

Snakey

Agree1 Disagree0

Only thing not sure about was the description of carrick and cleverley as good ! average would be better !

Agree0 Disagree0

Vidal?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ronny will come back in Summer and Rooney will drop back into midfield....mark my words..this will happen

Hilliard

Agree1 Disagree0

Strootman and Goetze would be ideal and we could play Carrick, Strootman and Goetze in the middle, lots of creativity and defensively very good and tight.

Can somebody please clear up the Nani situation for me. Does the manager want to sell him because of his performance on the pitch or because of his wage demands over a new contract? If it is the latter how could a team like Arsenal be interested when they don't pay wages like we do? Is it true that Zenit reached an agreement with us but Nani wage demand killed the deal? Do you think that we want to have him sign an extension so we can get a higher transfer fee or does the manager still want him? ED? {Ed002's Note - Roma are interested and I suspect that Zenit could still show an interest in Nani at the right price and I suspect if the right sort of offer arrives MU will let him go.}

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Praying we can get rid of him for 15m or more.

SAF says he wants to keep him! Playing games with the media perhaps or trying to increase the transfer fee.
Paulo

Agree0 Disagree0

Convenient the manager didn't mention the club accepted a 27m euro offer from Zenit in August. I think it's more of a warning to Nani that if he doesn't accept a move this winter that he will keep him til his contract runs out and he will continue to be benched.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think SAF will keep Nani. He certainly is no more inconsistant then Young and at his best 100% better. He is also not so one footed as Valencia. He has more assists than any other United player, in the Premier league era, except for Giggs and Rooney.
Mik

Agree1 Disagree0

I sold him to Tottenham on Football manager for £20mill and then signed Bale for £25 mill! Bargain lol, lets just do that!

Agree1 Disagree0

Ferguson has said he wants to keep Nani and he won't be selling him. Pointless to keep bringing this up.

Agree1 Disagree0

Thing is when you start fights with young players and give the ball away so much then united is definitely the wrong place for you...

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

No name, SAF said exactly the same in the summer and then the club accepted an offer from Zenit. The only way Nani will stay is if a club do not make a suitable offer to the club and Nani.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed Syd. problem is though Nani reportedly doesn't want to go in Jan he wants to wait until the summer to get a full pre season behind him.

Dan

'I sold him to Tottenham on Football manager for £20mill and then signed Bale for £25 mill! Bargain lol, lets just do that!'
....................love it :-)

Hilliard

Agree0 Disagree0

Lip service IMO and he will be moved on the minute we get a decent offer. The problem with any Italian teams being interested is they will not be offering anything near our valuations for a player that is out of form.

Shahram

Agree0 Disagree0

Nani should go his performance this season and last year hve been way below united standards should of taken the 18-20 million inter offerd few seasons back.

It felt so good yesterday to see Nemanja Vidic back, he gave his all yesterday and he deserved a clean sheet.

How many times did he clear the ball or headed the ball out of the box? He was immense yesterday and i hope he can continue to improve his form over the next few months, Vidic will be one of main players for the rest of this season.

Also great to know SAF doesn't want to sell Nani, or is he saying that to budge his price up?

Believable25 Unbelievable4

The return of the king! Evans was awesome yesterday too! Especially in second half! Nice for him to provide answers some of his critics..

it was great to see vidic back and hopefully he can stay injury free for the next 18 months as it'll save us some cash this summer. Although he did say from summer onwards both vidic and evra would only get one year deals so i don't think either is leaving yet. Nani who knows. It could have been sincere or could have been a cover. I still expect him to leave.

SAF has told man utd.com that the rumours surrounding Lewandowski are 'absolute nonsense'...

Patzi

Believable14 Unbelievable13

Of course he has, why would he say 'yes yes we're about to sign him'?

Fresh!

I hope it's true and we spend our summer transfer kitty on 2 top midfielders -Gotze and Wanyama would be great.

There is a rumour this morning that Pep has rejected City's approach and wishes to wait for the United job.

My take on Guardiola has been that his self imposed sabbatical in New York and the suggestion he needed a rest from football was concerning if he was to be considered for the goldfish bowl and high pressure situation that would accompany him into following Ferguson. However this morning I was fed a little information as to why Guardiola is in New York and whilst I don't believe I can relay this it certainly changes my opinion slightly and warms his potential. I remain convinced Mourinho would be the best candidate yet Guardiola, if my source is accurate, has become a warmer prospect if it was not that he sought relief from the pressure.

Red Man

Believable13 Unbelievable7

I agree, Pep is favourite IMO.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

The rumor on tribal football said he wanted 3 new youth coaches and 2 assistants. That, IMO, is a huge plus for signing him if he is bringing a batch of Barca youth coaches with him. I really want SAF to take up a director of football type role and Giggs to be one of Peps assistants.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

Ole as assistant.......

Hilliard

Agree0 Disagree0

I think when the boss steps down its going to be Moyes i know by saying this i am going to get slated but its my gut feeling and also my preferance and all the doubters should look a little closer at what he is and how he is doing it , he would probably bring Baines Felliani and Barkley which would give us some more options it will not be Jose to much of a liabilty to trust with the biggest seat in football Pepe done very well at Barca but could he do it long term for us it would be ironic if Pepe came to us and Jose to city it could happen but my moneys on Moyes. Katef

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is it a concern that Pep needs a break it has been a long 21 ish yrs in football without a decent spell away from the game. No surprise to me with his money that he wants and can afford time off.

Agree0 Disagree0

Katef - Couldn't agree more! I would be happy with Pep, but feel he would represent a greater risk then Moyes. I've felt Moyes would replace SAF in the 2014-15 season, since about 2010. Hope your right and we land Fellani too, he really is top notch and can play anywhere in midfield, as a supplimentery striker, or at a push, center-back.

With Fernandinho saying he is coming to Manchester in January, but City and United have said they will not be making any signings, what will happen? Unless, City are denying it but may bring him in. Eds?

MUFC19 {Ed002's Note - Fernandinho said nothing of teh sort - it was a tease on Twitter to catch out the gullible MU and MC fans.}

Ed's whats the latest on kurt zouma, reports saying that he was present during the manchester derby and we are ready to offee 9m for him. Any truth in these?
Cheers
Raone {Ed002's Note - I can assure you that he was not at the derby match with Manchester City. Arsenal looked at him about a year or so ago. Manchester United in the summer and Manchester City now.}

I have never believed any of the Sniejder rumours from the last 2 years and do not believe the fresh rumours going around personally. But, now is the best time to get him. Out of favour at Inter Milan and he has said himself it is best if he leaves. With the arrival of Robin Van Persie, a signing of an older player for now rather then the future, now should be the time to put a 20 million Euro bid in for him. It's around £16 million. £8 million cheaper then Robin Van Persie and Sniejder is a year younger. Imagine having 2 Dutch masters in the United side linking up together. Wages might be a problem but the salary cap at United has been raised. Many say Wayne Rooney was never going to leave and Sir Alex asked Wayne Rooney to put in a transfer request so Sir Alex could force the Glazer family to raise the salary cap. Still far from happening and probably just a dream for Manchester United fans but i would love it to happen. DantheDevil

My mates dad is friends with Andy Townsend and he saw him in St Vincent, and he said that Rooney and ferguson had a fall out! He also believes Rooney - Madrid and ronny+mourinho- united.

Believable9 Unbelievable64

30 Dec 2012 12:33:59
yes because Andy townsend would know all about what goes on at united. Have you ever heard him commentate on our champions league games? He's so anti united its shocking.

Agree2 Disagree0

Don't see how we could fit Mourinho into the team to be honest..

MattL

Agree0 Disagree0

Bloody hope not! I've definitely got reservations about Rooneys attitude now though. Get the feeling he is slacking off now that he is not the no.1 man at the club anymore. He only ever really plays for himself whereas the rest of the team plays for the manager, the club, the team, eachother and themselves.

Agree0 Disagree1

Rooney only plays for himself? He is pretty selfless when he plays out of position but still puts in a shift without complaint.

snakey

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney is about as much a team player as anyone is at united

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you say Rooney, of all people, plays for himself? You are CLUELESS! He's one of the most selfless players I have ever seen, he would play right back if asked just for the love of football and commitment to the team. Disgraceful show of disrespect to our best player. Shame on you.

I have never posted on this site, but really enjoy reading a lot of the discussions on here. Keep up the great work lads. A question to the Eds, do United have any interest in Carlos Fierro? Seen a couple of matches, and he seems to be a great prospect for the future. Thanks on beforehand.
