Anyone read the new andresred blog on why united have no money it's quite good

Yes, Andy comes to the conclusion that there is cash available, but don't know if the Glazers will use it. We knew this anyway though.

Like I said before 'Ravel is as good as gone'. He's joining West Ham no idea on contract length or fee but can't imagine it's more than £1 million.

ravel morrison joining west ham tommorow, such a shame couldnt get his head together .Thing is i cant see it happening for him down there with the bright lights
of london ,look wat happened to gazza!.give it a year or 2 and i think he will be on the soccer scrapheap.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

In my opinion it will end his career. London will be the worse place for Ravel to go. Bright Lights n all that.

United Till I Die 1987 {Ed001's Note - that was my thought when I heard it. But then maybe it will be the making of him, perhaps going somewhere he can't be the big man but has plenty to keep him from being bored could make him?}

Hearing Ravel Morrison will be a West Ham United player by close of play tomorrow - shame or blessing in disguise!?

A lot of doom n gloom merchants on today. We may end up with no silverware this season, we may be a weaker squad then previous years, hell, we may not have any money available for transfers.... But We'll always be MANCHESTER UNITED.... HERBIE

Believable11 Unbelievable3

There's doom and gloom for a reason HERBIE. Becuase of the Glazer parasite that own's our club we are in this 'financial position'. If it wasn't for them we would be able to sign any player we wanted.

United Till I Die 1987

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh, that's alright then.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree with Herbie, at least we get to watch the team we love play week in week out, people are getting a little bit too caught up in the buy or die mentality of the January transfer market. Been a very quiet month for most teams. Running out an old cliche, but feel that young and cleverly will be like new signings when they get back. Would be nice for Pogba to actually get some game time also

Agree0 Disagree0

What good is it being 'United' when we're battling for 10th spot every season? Coz if a decline begins, it's going to be close to impossible to stop - big0name players will not join a struggling team; talented youngsters will fly the nest to win silverware and get bigger salaries.

The doom and gloom is very much for a reason, the atmosphere surrounding United is far different from any other season - from SAF's mood, to our style of play, to results.

Anybody wanna shed light why Hernandez hasnt been playing recently? I hope it doesnt carry on like this as he will want out at some point.

He's a natural finisher and in my eyes we wouldnt have had the title last season without the guy. Granted Welbeck's form has been good but in my eyes he should always be a starter if fit. Hopefully we see him start against Stoke.

MUFC_Devil

Believable6 Unbelievable2

I have no answer for you but share your concerns
Joe.a

Agree0 Disagree0

It is because he can't hold the ball up and his first touch is poor. He has also not been as effective when playing. We h

Agree0 Disagree0

Apart from his finishing he s not a great footballer.i think welbeck brings more to the table at the mo.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a feeling we'll see him against Stoke. Welbeck's been playing a lot recently, and he looked pretty isolated without Rooney in the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Poor first touch but a fox in the box. Always gets a goal or two. i would have him on in front of wellbeck and also get berba a few games aswell if rooneys injured play berba not wellbeck on his own.
Fergie needs to bring in a CM someone with an eye for that killer pass. Some nanes getting threw about again, but the one that has been very quite is KAKA why dont we try for him? can score goals can play off the striker and can pass.

No doubt SAF has an interest in Kovacic and Barkley, but who will make way for them? Anderson maybe if they came in?

RedDevil19

Believable0 Unbelievable5

SAF has an interest in many players, Kovacic & Barkley are two of them. They are two very good talents. I think there is room for both of them if Anderson is sold.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Anderson will NOT be sold. He is a key figure in SAF's squad plans.

This Sydney guy is a muppet as well.

It has been confirmed that Rene Maulensteen (First Team Coach) was at The DW Stadium on the 3rd January 2011.

Now given that United don't play Wigan till April. He wasn't sounding out the team.

He was in fact scouting Victor Moses.

It's a known fact that SAF was keen on him whilst he was at Crystal Palace.

And with Diouf gone...

I think there would be a place for him in the squad. Some competiton for the likes of King who is going to come back from this final loan spell a superb player (IMO).

The likelyhood is that Owen will go in summer, as well as Berbatov. So they will be the positions Macheda/King/Moses will fill.

SAF himself has said that he rates the boy highly.

So I think this story could certainly come in to fruition in the summer.

Believable7 Unbelievable15

Wouldn't surprise me if it was McCarthy.

rpc

Agree0 Disagree0

If Maulensteen did go to see Moses, he would have been disappointed, as he didn't get off the bench.

I've never heard of Maulensteen doing scouting for United, but if he was I think it more likely that United would be looking at McClean

Agree0 Disagree0

McClean was playing for Sunderland that day by the way.

McCarthy also a good shout for a possible scouting trip

Agree0 Disagree0

What exactly has moses done to be linked to utd? No assists all season and 2 goals. Wish these mid table standard players would stop being linked

Agree0 Disagree0

Victor Moses??????? do me a favour.

totally unfounded and untrue. seriously now. ridiculous.

jessop1982

Agree0 Disagree0

Just for reference Moses came off the bench at 39 mins.

Agree0 Disagree0

More likely SAF was having James McCarthy watched {Ed007's Note - I would be a touch jovial if that happened.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it was probable mcClean or mcCarthy
but moses had ability all 3 will go on to play for bigger clubs (man utd) they might not get to that level maybe liverpool arsenal everton
cjwales82

Agree0 Disagree0

Or a Sunderland player, or a multitude of options. We'll have to see!

Sanshine

Agree0 Disagree0

Its Meulensteen. Just for the record. Just thought I'd nip it in the bud now before we have the whole C*****e A**ms/A**m fiasco all over again.

TK-Red

Agree0 Disagree0

Most likely McLean or McCarthy either or both would be good signings, i've been impressed whenever i've seen McLean.

Agree0 Disagree0

Macheda and king will not make it at utd not good enough
johndenton

Agree0 Disagree0

Why has this come up now when you say he went and watched 3rd Jan 2011 and nothing happened transfer wise in Jan 2011 or the summer window ?
SC

Agree0 Disagree0

This is man utd not Bolton Moses don't make me laugh we should be aiming our sights higher what about hazard. Goetze guitan all playing in Europe and scoreing goals for their respected countries get real utd diehard 75

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is it happening now?

Very easily explained. Maybe they want to arrange a deal for the player early on.

And i think the guy may have put 2011 by accident they played sunderland 3rd Jan 2012.

I for one believe that Moses is good enough.

AND johndenton? are you mad? Josh King looks an absolutely fabulous prospect.

does anyone follow french football? Couple of players i think we should be interested in. Zouma of st etienne. Sanogo of auxerre. And nangis of i think caen. Not saying we are just that should have a look see if their good enough. Anyone else seen anything of these guys?

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Mbaye Niang is more of a Prospect than Nangis mate, but apparently we've been linked with Zouma and Nangis previously. Zouma has made a good impression, scored two goals for the first team and looks to have a bright future, bit early though to tell anything yet. (I support Saint-Etienne).

Sanogo and Nangis have a goal to their name from 4 app it seems, but Mbaye Niang is the bigger prospect, having played 8 games for the first team and I think hes only 16 (given only one goal in that but Caen and Auxerre are 17th and 18th respectively)

Hope that helps!

Sanshine

Agree0 Disagree0

Sanogo and Niang are both outstanding prospects. Would love to see them at United.

Web sites seem to be saying that SAF is desperate to get a buyer for Morrison by tomorrow night, or risk losing hime for a small (tribunal) fee in the summer. It looks like the optimism on here about him signing up may be misplaced. I hope not, as I think he could become a star if he can get to grips with his personal life.

Mike B.

Believable7 Unbelievable7

Couldn't careless anymore.
If he can't be bothered turning up to training or have the desire to tay out of prison he'll never be world class
ajk

Agree0 Disagree0

He's gone! West Ham, news should break by tomorrow. It's a shame as he's such a talent but he was given more than enough chances to prove he could change his ways. London should be an interesting move for him though, I can't see him being able to keep himself out of trouble their then again maybe a move away from Manchester is just what he needs.

Could Hazard be a genuine target for us? Its between him and Gaitan for me in that advanced attacking midfield role/winger. I think either would be great business and i'd welcome either. although Hazard would be my first choice.

Hearing mumblings that the Clyne and Barkley deals have been rubber stamped for Summer also. I expect more action than just three players to come in however.

RedDevil19

Believable8 Unbelievable8

Will you stop going on about players like clyne etc they will not improve our reserve team never mind 1st team squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Erikson of Ajax would be my first choice, then Gaitan. Not seen much of Hazard but heard good things obviously.

Agree0 Disagree0

RedDevil19

I expect less than 3 players to come in personally.
I'm already preparing myself for an infuriating summer window - IMO, we'll sign either Barkley or Rodwell for about £15-18million and an 18-20yr old striker for somewhere who costs about £1.5million, dubbed 'the new Hernandez'.

Also, maybe £3million on Clyne. Giggs and Scholes will remain, and we'll be told that's sufficient improveement of the squad. Which will not be true.

RED_SKY

Agree0 Disagree0

I expect to see another £50m spent next summer to almost complete our transition.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Wish this Barkley thing would stop. I posted in Sept about Everton guy going Chelsea as head of youth development and very top of there list was Barkley on his recommendation. Chelsea apparantly offered £10+million and offered Lukaka on loan but Lukaka could not go as it would have been the third club he would have played for in year, so deal was non starter. Chelsea will be big favs to get Barkley im afraid.
SC

Agree0 Disagree0

Person with no name, Nathaniel Clyne isn't a bad player he's in fact a realistic target. Whereas Hazard on the other hand is highly unlikely.. We don't necessarily buy players that can come in and instantly improve the first team, more that we buy players with potential to improve the first team in a while, or at least give us strength in depth which is vital. Now i'd like to take this small space to say 'get real'..

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

He isnt a bad player in the league and team he plays, not good enough for us by a mile , when was the last time we bought a championship player?

Just heard the Germans (Bayern) might be lodging a bid for Shaqiri...
Not the player I wanted anyway but I know a few were discussing the fact that should anyone else BIG move for him then AF hand might be forced to bid.

Im not suggesting anything there, but what do you guys think of Sessegnon(S'Land)? Attacking midfielder, still young & in good form..!

IBleedBlue

Believable6 Unbelievable10

No thanks.
not bashing the idea as such, but I really think we all know we are not flush with money and should first tie down the talent we have before spending huge (in relation) amounts of money to recruit outside talent.

I think the way to go is Barcelona's, a lot of home grown players complemented by few world class players from outside.
Considering Pep's track record in the transfer market leads me to believe SAF could be even more successful with that approach then Barcelona, but we need to stop wasting 5 million or 10 million each on players just filling up numbers and blocking and therefore demotivation our own promising youth

Agree0 Disagree0

I love Sessegnon from watching the French league and always rated him, but im afraid he isn't young being 27. Very versatile though which I've always enjoyed, still unsure if he would be able to cut it at top top level though. Wouldn't mind if we did get him tbh.

Sanshine

Agree0 Disagree0

I said this about 2 weeks ago and was shot down by most people, I think he is a great player and would love to have him in the team as he is just what we need without breaking the bank, I think he actually looks better than Valencia did before we signed him aswell.

When clev returns will he be given reserve game time or just shipped straight into the 1st team? I'd love to see him play in the reserves alongside pogba to see there partnership.

Anon

Believable11 Unbelievable4

Sod that. If we want to see them together then Pogba needs to be put into the first team. We need Cleverley back ASAP. We cant afford for him to potter about in the reserves for a week or 2.
