Ed002, I understand this is a busy time for you, but if you get five minutes can you give us an update on Strootman. ESPN reporting agent fees are holding up any deal from being completed. Is this true? Thanks.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Bombarding me with questions about something said by ESPN is a hopeless waste of my time Syd.

Didn't mean to waste your time Ed, just thought there may be some substance to these Strootman stories and if there were then you would probably know.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Asking me to pass comment on what ESPN or the like says will lead to all sorts of grief for me.}

ED02 Are Chelsea keen on signing Butland because Courtois will be moving elsewhere?

RED91 {Ed002's Note - Chelsea has two goalkeepers leaving in the summer. Much is expected of Butland so an equiry was made.}

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Who are the two Ed002? Turnbull and ?

Thanks,

rpc {Ed002's Note - Hilario.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't even know Hilarious was still there, thought they'd kicked him out ages ago.

ED002 do Chelsea want to sign Jack Butland? {Ed002's Note - They made an enquiry, yes.}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Chelsea actually had a bid accepted by the club only for the player to turn down the offer saying that he needs regular football. Funny thing is that the club are in need of selling their best players in order to raise enough money so as to avoid going into administration and Butland's refusal to the offer might actually be something that the club officials would not like that much. One more day to go before the transfer deadline - expect both clubs to push for this deal to go through. As a United fan I'll be gutted to see a promising keeper like him go to one of our rivals but from what it seems, we are done for this transfer window, no more signings unless a breakthrough is made in the Garay deal. The only respite is that we definitely seem to be in the hunt for both Wanyama and Strootman - something to look forward to for the summer.

if any of the eds are about do you know if we have any interest in fellani? If we don't which clubs do you think are interested in him with a view to a move in the summer which seems likely?

Thanks,

Darren the red {Ed002's Note - The summer is a long way off.}

Ed what are your thoughts on the future or Muniain? I know a while ago you said that Barca was likely - just wondering have you changed your opinions lately?

Fresh! {Ed002's Note - Muniain was touted around the clubs on behalf of Bilbao last January - and the two clubs in England that were approached were Chelsea and Manchester United. The asking price was 40M euros which is related to the buy-out clause that exists for Iberian clubs. They won't get it because I don't think clubs would risk half of that on a player who is young and has had some off field issues. If the price comes down to a reasonable level (20M euros might be an acceptable figure) I can see interest from several English clubs including Manchester United. Lyon, Bayern Munich, Napoli and Roma have sustained interest which is still there but I could not see a cash deal involving Lyon as possible at this time. Rumours abound of Juventus and Palermo interest. It was thought an eventual move to Barcelona would happen, although his performances this season have not been good at all and his temper has gotten the better of him again on more than one occasion. Perhaps Bayern in the summer.}

Question for Ed002, it's not regarding United. If Balotelli moves to AC Milan this winter, who have they earmarked for his replacement? And will it be an instant replacement? Jovetic perhaps? We know they want Falcao, but surely that is unlikely to happen in the next few days.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Jovetic has been a target for the summer as has been said on numerous occasions. They don't need an immediate replacement unless they can get someone they are interested in as they have John Guidetti available.}

Hey Ed

As a club, have we gone cold on the Wanyama deal? Tomorrow is looming and there seems to be nothing. After yesterday's speculation I'd have thought today would have added some substance to the idea. Or is the lack of it an indication that the interest was never really there to begin with?

Chris67 {Ed007's Note - I am 100% confident that Wanyama will still be a CFC player when the window closes.}

Believable0 Unbelievable6

Ed007 is that your own opinion?

Sulei {Ed007's Note - No, it's a fact :-)

What happened to that young goalkeeper we were mean to sign? Did we ever get him? Think his name was santelago?

Caolán.

Flying talks around club says strootmaan's agent has asked for 4m in agent fees and Saf has put move on hold...
I don't know what difference it would make in waiting till summer. I guess its the same agent as hazard isn't it? Then I don't think why he will change his stance in summer.

Things sometimes get very weired.

Deal won't happen then I wouldn't think.

Fresh!

Agree0 Disagree0

If that's true that its the same agent as Eden Hazard had, then I can't see the transfer happening full stop.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wonder how that conversation will go:

"Sorry, Mr Strootman but your dream move to the biggest football club on the planet cannot go ahead because they aren't prepared to pay me my exorbitant demands for making a few phone calls and attending a couple of meetings"

"Oh, Ok Mr Agent, that's OK, I'll stay where I am or move to a different club that suits you better financially."

Is this really how it goes?

Same agency I believe.

Hazard's agent is John Bico, while Cheik Dekker is Strootmans agent.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not the same agent, the same agency.

The big cheese being Franjo Vranjkovic.

Sydney!

I see our stance here, but we are in danger of only going in for those players nobody else wants, at this rate.

Is this what happened with Buttner? Serious question. We went from Baines, to a fourth-choice, 23yr old Dutchman for a fraction of the price, who nobody else wanted.

My personal belief was when they have signed his SAID replacement..i was realy thinking that we are about to wrap it up..i mean strootman signature..
I think most of us believed that also.

southampton wanted buttner so once again your wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sign him and than what?
7 point clear, our opponents are in a crisis while we look pretty good, to the extend of having a record of points(or close) in the first half of the league.
Ferguson might give a chance to the ones already in the squad to, after this year, see if we really need Wanyama/Strootman.
Although. . I would truly like to see one of them wearing our shirt this year.
