reports coming in that juventus want 45m euros for vidal (worth every penny), also reports sporting willing to now negotiate william carvalho transfer fee and representatives are in portugal to do so.
Arsenals vermaelen looks like he could be on way tho utd have a fee in mind but is far from what arsenal want.
de vrij look like a better option and wants a utd move, also belive veltman would be a better option than vermaelen with miranda as some experiance to teach young players.
still believe memphis depay could be a utd signing.

I think we may have a better chance of signing A. Vidal in January's Transfer Window if. and only if.
Utd are in the top 3 of the Premier league table.
And of course?
Juventus are eliminated or on the verge of elimination.
Otherwise its just another WS saga

I would rather have Carvalho over Vidal in a way. But in another way I wouldn't.
Carvalho is younger and cheaper whereas Vidal is older but more expensive! Dilemma!

Vidal he's a beast the difference between us winning the league or fighting with the goons for 3rd sign him now

I believe the price being quoted for Vidal is £45 million bout €s which is still a bargain in my wyes
Agree0

De Vrij would be a preferable signing to Vermaelen. The latter is too old. He will soon be past his prime. (PS - anyone remember Ian Ure who I think is the last centre back signed from Arsenal?)

I remember some time back we were looking at Viktor Fischer. Is this still the case?

Next deal to go through will be Vermaelen, expected to be completed by the end of the week.

Hope not. I would like Hummels or Subotic.

Hummels is unlikely, I wouldn't be surprised to see us go for him next year to replace someone like Evans if they don't perform. Vermaelen though is a born leader, very tidy on the ball and is an LVG type player. Rocket of a left foot as well.

Vermaelan will arrive but carvalho will be next.

I think going for Vermalen means we are hoping to promote one of Smalling or Jones to the first team. I don't believe the directors would be showing the type of ambition they are at present, only to begin signing players that fail to improve the squad. If we sign vermalen, I think he will be an addition to the squad rather than the first team.
If this report is true, I would expect us to sign one top class centre back this window, rather than 2, as many probably thought we might have to. I would also expect that centre back to partner either Smalling or Jones. We have already seen Smalling, stating he wants to prove himself as a regular choice this season for club and country. Perhaps he has held talks behind the scenes and been informed he will get that chance.
Vermalen as back up means u have a decent squad player, aswell as someone with experience to step in, if either jones or smalling fail to step up.

I'd love to have Carvalho!

If you look at the back line as it would currently be, we have Rafael, Jones, Smalling, Shaw. If we picked those 4 they are all under 25 and not that great experience. Vermaelen will play alongside either Smalling or Jones I think, probably Smalling in all likelihood.

Just my opinion but I don't see vermaelen joining unless he is guaranteed first team football, that's the only reason he's leaving arsenal after all!
I'd also be inclined to play him with either Evans or jones and not smalling.
For me. smallings gone backwards.

Vermaelen is better than what we've got left but not much better. i'd like another fast ball playing centre back like Rio 1st and let Phil Jones try and fill Vidic' boots and be the warrior at the back. I know he's still got a lot to prove but I think he's got the passion to donit

Agree with Smudger_s smallings game has definitely gone backwards, he just looks so short of confidence, would rather jones be 1st choice!

Hi Edd's,
I was just wondering if there is any interest in Michael Keane either on loan or permanent from any clubs. I was hoping he would be given the chance to progress into the first team squad.
Thanks in advance.

{Ed001's Note - yes, but last I heard was LVG had asked to have a look at the youngsters before any are allowed to go out on loan. I doubt any near the first team will be allowed to move on loans or permanent deals until he has done so.}

Did James Wilson sign a new deal? Haven't heard anything on him apart from we're rejecting loan offers.
Heard all the U18 team signed pro terms except Goss and Gollini.

{Ed001's Note - he is available, I don't know who is interested though sorry.}
Turan is a good player. But would cost his buyout clause which is something like £34m.

{Ed001's Note - he has had a lot of injury problems, so he is likely to cost less than that.}
Ed, you know what AM are like, they almost always make a buying club pay top dollar. Unless they are happy to sell of course.

{Ed001's Note - like I said he is available, because of his injury issues they want to replace him.}
Cheers ed

Ed002, Is there a deal in place for Alexis Sanchez to head to Arsenal?
Also is there enough interest from any club for James Rodriguez where a deal is likely to happen this summer, sorry if it's a daft question just curious as to what might happen with him.
Thanks in advance
