I would be sceptical. Jose possibly does want him, but West Ham have no reason to sell, and would look for a big fee for a fairly average 29 year old.

Fergie used to sign these types of player to supplement an already top standard Premier League side - adding something new while not gambling on someone who doesn't know the league.
However, right now I think we need better.
Wouldn't mind signing him *as well as* three world class players mind. ;)

He would jump at the chance to join a big club. He is a good player but the sums quoted seem absurd. Only issue is he is relatively slow, intelligent but slow. He would have to be supplemented well with $anchez, Martial and Rash etc.

Realistically why would any player leave Madrid or Barcelona unless they were no longer wanted? Great clubs, good money and league, amazing cities, great weather etc.

I get your point Eric but I do believe beside all that the premier league is a massive pull. Yes weather is crap and maybe quality of living is not as good, but the league is exciting as watched worldwide and many of the top managers are currently managing in it. I’m not saying it’s the best league in the world because it is not. But it is the most exciting and most watched league. And with it being so lucrative, players coming here will get a packet and a half for wages. I don’t think there is any chance of getting Alba but I do think the premier league is a massive pull. Players will choose pep, Jose, Klopp over the likes of Bayern and PSG because their leagues are dead. But I agree taking players from the bigger Spanish two is a big ask.

A player like Alba is looking for his last big contract, and if Barcelona don’t stump up, EPL sides are more than happy to pay it.
