This chat is getting boring. Give it up would you. . it was touted united didn't have any money in the close season but they matched Barca's bid for Villa at 40mill euros. They then spent money on Bebe, Smalling and Hernandez. They have just bought Lindegaard as a back up keeper. I don't think there is 50 million to spend but i do believe the glazers will sanction a big money move if needs be.

As i have said previously United are using the loans of Danny Welbeck and Diouf to monitor performances of Sunderlands and Blackburns youngsters. A summer move is most likely for Jordan Henderson with a view to loaning him back and Phil Jones seems to be an almost certainty. I have said United have shown a strong interest in Ciaran Clark so should United send or sell Gibson to Aston Villa or even Michael Owen then I can imagine this move happening this summer.

5. The "who will replace fergie" question is becoming quite a hot topic. I would actually like to put an underdog into the race. Joachim Lowe. Great motivator, tactician and plays attacking yet defensively sound football. Knows about youth development and building a young team with a mix of experience. I think it should be either guardiola or him since they are more familiar with long term projects and youth development and are brilliant tacticians.
Word in Germany in the Summer was that L??w only extended his contract until 2012, because he has a deal in place with some club in england to take over after the European Championship.
I was thinking of United right away, can't see any other club, maybe Arsenal, planning so gar ahead at the manager's post.

As for ball retention, Chelsea, United & Arsenal are used to keeping the ball so the toughest games will be against each other of course. {ed's note - I very much agree that injuries are more Chelsea's problem than freshness. That is why they need the kids to step up and show their worth quickly.}
I think January is a big month for Chelsea fans, they clearly need strengthening defensively, playing Terry & Alex injured and having no faith in Bruma is proof of that. I have a feeling they will not strengthen in January, surely this would be evidence to the Blues fans that Abramovich has finished buying players for Chelsea?
Do you think Chelski will sign anyone in January Editor? {ed's note - there will be very little movement in or out of Chelsea in January, I believe.}

I agree Ed he is only 26 and his physique would suggest he can play well into his 30s. I was thinking more re-sale price. I would say SAF has been burnt a little with the signing of Berba. Alto of money for absoltuely zero re-sale potential. Sanchez (although a completely differnet player) has huge re-sale potential

Ed the general consensus seems to think SAF will move for Schweinsteiger in the summer. Couple of things, do you think his age will play a factor? and i value him at around 20 mill euros which is what is being touted for Sanchez? My source says SAF is hell bent on Sanchez this summer? What are your thoughts?
