Third transfer window in a row where Sir Alex has let the team become weaker. For all those saying they trust in Sir Alex and all is well I would say you need to open your eyes a bit. There are two options
1) Sir Alex was denied any significant money by the Glazers
2) Sir Alex lost his bottle and can't bring himself to spend large values in the transfer market.
I am no glory hunter and will put my record of watching Utd against nearly anyone. There was a blindingly obvious need to strengthen, particularly in midfield but we have again sat on our hands. I think this is a major major error. Now we will see what happens but given the size of his decision then a poor season must be followed by his retirement.

Alright guys. So finally the SEAGULL has revealed the big 3. I started posting here around the same time that the world cup was going on in SA. One of my 1st posts here was about Rossi and if I can remember correctly it was in response to someone claiming that ManUtd had made an official bid. In my post I said that while the world was busy with the world cup, SAF was trying to finalize his squad and Rossi was a name high on his priority list a couple of months ago. In the same post, I went on to add that even though Rossi is good, SAF is planning for the future and has his eyes set on a younger player in the similar role. I continued to deny SAF's approach for Rossi in the following posts. Also, by the time the transfer window was open I had confirmed news that SAF WASN'T INTERESTED in signing him anymore. Now I can't say that the SEAGULL is wrong, coz maybe, just maybe, with the ongoing Hargo fiasco SAF might have had a change of heart; BUT my sources think otherwise.
Next is Martinez. Yes, he is still on the shortlist (which, by the way, includes the names of 30 1st-team players! ). My take is that SAF would go for Defour eventually, but yes, Martinez is someone he is really very interested in.
And finally - Xavi. Well, he is someone I wouldn't, even in my wildest dreams, associate with a move away from Barca, even for ManU. You got this one plain wrong man. Its like Bayern/Milan making a bid for Giggs. Sorry! Can't agree with that. Knowing Barca's answer to any bid (A BIG FAT NO), his age, his possible price tag and the sheer improbablity of Xavi thinking of a move to make the deal possible makes this rumour unbelievable. Sorry! !
As for deadline day signings, I called my sources at OT (about 3 hours ago) and both of them confirmed that SAF is keeping things really close, but something is definitely cooking. 3 names are going around (none of the above 3; none that you already don't know about - its common knowledge - Defour, Ninis and Rodwell). However, one of my sources says that there might be 1 other target that SAF's working on. Both of these guys are extremely reliable (I generally cross check with both and get the same answers) and they've been going on all summer telling me that there will definitely be 1 signing this summer, if not more. Don't worry, if they got this wrong I'll make sure to kick their * *es on your behalf :) . Also, unlike what the SEAGULL is claiming, they've told me that the winter transfer window is gonna be a busy one with the possible transfes limitations coming in from Next summer. A goalkeeper will definitely be signed in January (as I've told you time and time again). Sorry for the long post.

I am confused. .
1)So if transfers will happen next year, Sir Alex thinks he can win the 19th league title and at least one more european cup with this squad and therefore doesn't need anymore transfers, since Scholes is in form. But what if he gets injured?
2) I thought Sir Alex would retire soon, does he have enough time to win the mentioned trophies, if the names would come in next year? (considering they need to get adjusted to the country, club and its style of play, etc)

DE ROSSI WAS NOT AVERSE TO JOINING UTD BUT HIS STRONG SENSE OF LOYALTY TO ROMA + ROMA'S UNWILLINGNESS TO LET HIM LEAVE MEANT THAT THE DEAL WAS ALWAYS GOING TO BE DIFFICULT. SOURCE SAYS UTD WERE WILLING TO GO TO AROUND £20-£22M BUT ROMA WERE ADAMANT ON £35M+. AT ONE STAGE IT DID APPEAR THAT THEY WOULD RELENT IF UTD INCLUDED 2 MAIN SQUAD PLAYERS IN DEAL [NOT SURE WHO ‚Äì NAMES NOT REVEALED TO MY SOURCE] BUT ONE OF THOSE PLAYERS WAS ADAMANT HE WOULD NOT LEAVE UTD AND ESPECIALLY NOT TO ROMA. SAF WANTED DE ROSSI AS HE COULD THEN PLAY SCHOLES AND ANDERSON IN A MORE ATTACKING ROLE. HOWEVER, INJURY TO DEFOUR SCUPPERED THINGS AND SAF THEN SAW DE ROSSI AS A BETTER SHORT/MEDIUM TERM TARGET [AND ESPECIALLY SO WHEN HARGREAVES SUFFERED FURTHER SETBACKS]. REMEMBER THAT SAF WANTS 19 TITLES AND AT LEAST 1 MORE EUROPEAN CUP BEFORE HE RETIRES! INDEED, WHICH CLUB WOULD NOT MOVE FOR SUCH A TALENT. THIS GUY WILL PLAY FOR A FEW YEARS YET AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL ALA SCHOLES/GIGGS/VDS. ALTHOUGH RELATIVELY HIGH PRICE QUOTED BY BARCA [WHEN ONE CONSIDERS AGE] IT WAS NOT OUT OF UTD RANGE. IN SHORT TERM, SAF SAW MIDFIELD COMPRISE OF FLETCHER; SCHOLES AND XAVI. IN MEDIUM-TERM SAF SAW HIS MIDFIELD COMPRISE OF DIFFERENT COMBINATIONS OF XAVI; DEFOUR OR FLETCHER AND NINIS OR ANDERSON. Word on The Blogs is That United are in A Last Minute Switch To get Roddwell From Everton. Apperently Fergie has Offered Everton £10m + Michael Carrick Before Rodwell's Value Soares into £20m's - £30m's, What do You Think Ed? {editor's note - I was discussing this very subject with another ed last night. We both believe the emergence of Pogba has put on hold any move for Rodwell.}

Red Devil {editor's note - I am not sure for certain if anyone will be in, but I have been told that preliminary negotiations were held over Defour ie asking his club how much they would be willing to release him for and what kind of payment terms they would be looking for. But someone else tells me that you have reopened talks with Ninis and that he is likely to join. Both of those people say that they have heard of enquiries about at least one other player, but neither knew any names. It does look like Fergie's hand has been forced by the performances, but does he have the funds?}
