reports out of Italy claim united submitted undisclosed bid for Falcao. Got to love the deadline crazy! New to the site, let's hope for an eventful deadline day!

Apparently we've submit an undisclosed bid for falcao, hope that's true!

Believable20 Unbelievable21

I would love that to be true, Sheff, but somehow I doubt it is.

Agree3 Disagree0

We seem to have an obsession with expensive players wth ropey knees

Guillem Balague seems to think that there is a deal in place which will see Negredo head to Valencia on loan and that City will look to sign Falcao to replace him. It's unclear at this point whether Real intend to increase their offer (which was originally a loan deal with a view to a permanent move) or whether Chico is being targeted as a cheap alternative.

Tancredi Palmeri seems to be the one reporting that we've put in a bid for Falcao - although he has been wrong on numerous transfers in the past. According to him, a loan deal was agreed between Real and Monaco but City came in with a bid of €40m upfront which lead to Monaco going back on their deal with Real. We then put in a bid for the player earlier this evening.

Apparently the player has ruled out moves to Arsenal and Juventus already and prefers a move to Real Madrid (he's mentioned his dream of playing for Real on numerous occasions). I suspect that Real will end up matching Manchester City's offer and he will end up there - but this is certainly an interesting scenario for tomorrow.

I'm not sure if there's any truth to any of this and am just passing on what Tancredi Palmeri and Guillem Balague have said online and on Revista De La Liga respectively.

What about inigo martinez at
real socidad young and classy
and can bring the ball out of
defence also de gea's best pal!

Believable7 Unbelievable7

He is a great paler but doubt he would be available. I see him ending up at real at some point in the future.

So now hernandez goes on loan to Real. Woodward is playing a blinder here. How is that helping us?

Believable13 Unbelievable2

He's freeing up space and wages.

Agree1 Disagree1

31 Aug 2014 18:34:28
They are probably paying his wages in full.

Agree1 Disagree0

That's right blame woody for getting rid of players that cost us money but contribute SFA

Agree0 Disagree0

It's better to loan them out, we're trimming the squad then next season we will get them back when we're back in Europe

Agree0 Disagree1

We really need a strong or pacey striker. I mean. How much longer are we going to rely on Van Persie?

Agree1 Disagree0

I think Real see Hernandez as a useful tool to maintain dominance amoung South American fans. European teams have made a dent in that recently, with aquisitions from Chile, Argentina, Brazil etc. Madrid are trying to tie up their command over the latin speaking world once again. James Rodgriguez comes from a swing state, in the form of Columbia, and Hernandez, the only Mexican with anything to offer a big club, represents another.

Let Madrid take Hernandez. He's a loss in terms of impact from the bench, but if Wellbeck has room to grow, it evens out.

Personally hope that we are making use of these little trades though. Kagawa to Dortmund is a perfect opportunity to get a foot in the door with Hummels. Hope we have lined up something useful like an option or first refusal, next year even if need be.

The Hernandez deal would be perfect cover to make inroads with Madrid for a centre back or def mid.

Agree0 Disagree1

With all our departures we must be saving millions each month in wages

Agree0 Disagree0

It would be good if we loaned Real Hernandez and they loaned or sold us Khedira but who knows what our aims are

Agree0 Disagree0

Isn't khedira on his final yr? Would be awesome to involve him though if nothing comes of Vidal or Carvalho.

Agree0 Disagree0

RedIsotope - First refusals are worth very little if the club don't want to sell of the player favours a move elsewhere.

If Dortmund did decide to sell Hummels there'd be nothing stopping us matching any accepted bids with or without first refusal. Of course - Dortmund wouldn't be obliged to accept our bid - but they would (when was the last time you remember a club accepting an offer from one club and refusing an identical offer from another unless the second club was a domestic rival?).

Bein sports reporting

Heranndez going to Real. United and Real have agreed to a loan deal.

Falcao going to City if they can move Negredo. Jesus Falcao and Aguero is Scary and hope it falls through.

Believable6 Unbelievable8

Unless city offload one of their strikers, they won't be signing Falcao, IMO.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Aug 2014 17:56:37
Should the Hernandez and Wellbeck moves go through, Wilfred Bony will be the replacement, provided the bid is accepted.

Believable6 Unbelievable23

He has a buy out clause so that won't be a problem providing this post ain't rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2014 17:39:36
Hernandez to Real Madrid on a season long loan.

Believable8 Unbelievable5

Think it would have been better to sell him rather than loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dortmund must have at least 3 players that would compliment our squad, I assume nobody was pursued in the return of Kagawa? I would have given 5-10 million plus Kagawa for hummels.

Believable10 Unbelievable7

I would of offered Kagawa + 10 or 15 million!

Agree0 Disagree0

I know what you're saying, i'm going on the assumption that Kagawa is worth 15-20 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

That would mean hummels is valued at 11 to 16 million. never going to happen and more like 25 to 30 I would think and probably still no interest from dortmund to sell.

Agree0 Disagree0

Still don't think it would be enough to part with hummels.

Id imagine 20-25 plus kagawa

Agree0 Disagree0

What is this obsesion with using our players as bargaining tools? We need to clear out our squad in the most businesslike manner possible and that's the bottom line

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesn't mean the club wants to sell them

Agree0 Disagree0

Manutd so stupid sell kagawa rather than mata. mata not like fabregas or even kroos. he just from spain. we just buy rubbish from chelsea. if he good mourinho not fool enough to sell him to rival. kagawa is creative and even can score. In burnley, mata shoot like homerun we donot play baseball even can't create anything or good run. Overrated player (rooney, mata). if manutd sold januzaj and zaha, then we can just hoping to play in premier league again next season. Stupid manu.

Agree0 Disagree6

{Ed004's Note - it is manutd or Manchester United}

31 Aug 2014 15:12:32
Ed002 - Do you know if we still have a interest in Cavani? I'd be very surprised if we moved for him - but with us potentially looking at signing a striker I figure he may be an option.

Believable2 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath.}

31 Aug 2014 15:11:34
Hi Ed002, Is there any truth to the rumours that Real Madrid are tabling an offer for hernandez?

Thanks

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I am sorry but I am not aware of a bid.}

Loan deal agreed, just wages to be agreed according to Balague.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2014 12:34:10
Hiya eds. Any news on Cleverly or Kagawa? Have bids been accepted?

Also, news on hernandez? Have Valencia, Juve or Madrid bid for the player?

Finally, any further movement in Sportings' interest in Anderson?

Cheers!

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing new of note.}

Kagawa has just been confirmed as a Dortmund player in the last few moments. Fee thought to be around 6.3m. Pictures of him with the shirt and chairman on twitter currently.

Agree1 Disagree0

Not surprised Kagawa has gone back to Dortmund. Simply not good enough for us.

Agree0 Disagree1

As above
Such a shame he's gone, it's been known Dortmund were in talks to the-sign him

Reports suggesting utd may complete deal for de jong sometime today!

Believable14 Unbelievable20

Vidal or Carvalho to Nigel De Jong would be less than thrilling.

Agree3 Disagree2

De Jong seems such a let down when players like Vidal and carvalho are available although he would be a massive improvement on fletcher again the fact that we have gone in for him and blind so late in the window points to the inability to get other players in. Why wait til the last day to sign players he had at the WC. Still need a proper CB think all our problems stem from the back how many title contending clubs across the big European leagues would smalling, jones and Evans get into. your correct 0, the whole team looks disjointed it is like watching England at the moment

Agree2 Disagree0

I think if De Jong comes in today it will allow the club to go big tomorrow knowing they have a fall back in place. Otherwise they will need to work on multiple deals.
The shame is if De Jong and blind had come in early we would be happy now but as a last resort it feels like last year all over

Agree0 Disagree0

De Jong is exactly what we need!

Agree2 Disagree0

I agree syd, but de jong would do a job for us! He is meant to be back up incase carvalho vidal don't happen! I would get him any way as he is better than what we have then hopefully one of the other two come if not both!

Agree1 Disagree1

31 Aug 2014 12:14:29
But Vidal is either unavailable, not interested or his knee is too much of a concern or he would have been in weeks ago. i'd prefer Carvalho at this moment in time but were not the only one in. De jong would be a good plan b and would bring something that were lacking. Better than watching Darren struggle all game every game.

Agree0 Disagree0

MrE, or MU will not pay up for whatever reason?

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Aug 2014 12:46:17
Syd maybe but if the asking price is only 40 million euros and we just paid more than that for di Maria I'm not certain its a money issue.

I think its a combination of he's either unsure of us or settled where he is and were unsure over his knee, a post Hargreaves hangover.

I don't think glazers have any issue with paying out, but having been stung a few times with the likes of Hargreaves, berbatov, etc they are going to insist on the right signings, no dodgy medical conditions and the right age bracket.

Agree0 Disagree1

Id love de jong at utd. he's a hard ass player that would be good for us. I would love vidal instead but i'm not sure it will happen. better get a midfielder who has experiance in england and who is a hard tackler and de jong fits that and is quiet cheap. can't wait for the excitment of transfer deadline day

Agree0 Disagree0

Be a good signing.
De Jong knows how to play the system, LVG knows what de Jong can do first hand. De Jong also has experience in the league. It's a safe option rather than spending heavily it possibly not working out for whatever reason.

Agree0 Disagree0

De Jong now, Strootman in January. i'd be happy with that.

Agree1 Disagree0

How slow is our back 3 add to that de Jong and we are exposed to any sort if pace

Agree0 Disagree0

Schneiderlin would be a better option than De Jong. Just read Andy Mitten say we bid for him a couple of days ago and might return with a better offer. Can any of the Eds confirm this?

Agree0 Disagree0

Reports that rvp needs an operation on his knee

Believable17 Unbelievable3

Apparently he needed an operation before the WC, but LvG convinced him to wait. Will we keep hold of Welbeck now?

Agree0 Disagree1

Or buy a striker

Agree0 Disagree0

That would be awesome Jred, RvP does need a better strike partner :)

Agree0 Disagree0

That would give some explanation for his performances so far.

He has looked so slow and unfit and lacking in quality.

Have said that then maybe Rooney also needs knee surgery.

Both have looked poor, but in fairness so have the whole team and I never thought I would say it but thank god for an international break.

Agree0 Disagree0

Andy25, fine margins mate. If the keeper didn't make an unbelievable save and the ball wasn't stopped on the line, then we would be hailing RvP as a god today with an excellent brace, both volleys. Fine margins.

How many times have we even hit the target this season?

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd, fair point, accept the first one the second he badly mirubbish anyway.

The main point was how slow and unfit he looked and his first touch and control never brought anyone into the game.

Personally think the front two may last this season but can't see it being a longer term relationship.

Rumours(twitter) of rene meulmsteen returning. Is that to replace giggs?

Also a lot of people here have been hearing whispers. Please do get yourself checked for schizophrenia

Believable18 Unbelievable9

I heard a whisper about this time last year. It told me to act as a club official, fly to Spain and sign Herrera

Agree1 Disagree0

Sly Spurts were also reporting this, but have recently changed to saying this is not going to happen - I guess it was just a made-up rumour.
