Good player but we dont really need a defensive midfielder, yesterday we lacked creativity in midfield. I believe SAF when he says there wont be signings, i think he'll wait and get Modric in the summer. Saying that, id love a cheeky punt on Xabi Alonso although im not sure Madrid would part with him.

We do need a DM! and and AM. We also need a defender or two to cover for injuries and a right back.

Why do we need a dm, just because every other team seems to have one? We have players who can play that role when needed, its creativity we are crying out for. Funny how people want a dm brought in just for the sake of it. I hear city are signing a player with 3 feet, should we go and buy one too?!

No! we need one to make sure the defence are well looked after. I'm not just saying it for the fun of it. We need a Hargreave type figure in the squad. Sure players can fill in the role like Jones.

We need both but first a creative midfielder if our centre midfield can keep the ball a lot better than they have, then their will be less pressure going onto the defence. As i remember fletcher at full fitness works perfectly as defensive midfeilder. such a shame hes out. Even though hes not a crunching tackler, when you have him hassling a player for the ball its effective. Hes been a up their as one the best big game players we have, when he is at FULL fitness. coming back after being out for half a year and playing the big teams at the start of the season aint easy.
