Scousers now 1/ 10 to get Charlie Adam with Utd out to 6/ 1. I guess SAF is content with the squad until the end of the season. If Scholes and/ or Giggs get injured who is going to play the killer ball? Gibson? Fletcher? Carrick?

So Liverpool have sent a car to pick up Charlie Adam for talks with the club. I think we can safely say this rules out us. The link with us true ed? Or just another story from SSN to drum up interest and excitement?

A well known satellite broadcaster's sister betting company has just slashed the odds on Charlie Adam joining Utd from 8/ 1 to 1/ 4. Something must be happening (even if only a load of ill informed people putting shed loads of money on the deal! ). Still, we'll know by tomorrow morning, won't we!

Personally don't see him as the man to replace Scholes. What do you think ed?

Since Adam and Henderson have both been linked, I was wondering how the readers and ed feel about who they would rather have or if they think either of the deals is even in the works. {ed's note - I don't think either are likely, Adam still looks set for Liverpool and Henderson is likely to stay where he is until the summer.}

With Toress going to Chelsea and Suarez and Caroll about to join Liverpool, does this push United into the transfer market?! A creative CM is what we lack so much, but i doubt United will do any deadline day deals unfortunately, hope I'm wrong!

Skysports.com understands Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will not be leaving Southampton this month.
A slightly ambiguous statement which doesn't rule out the possibility of him being bought and loaned back.

We have confirmation of one move to be finalised today, and three for the summer. There will be more to come in the summer, but only these have been finalised.

January: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will join United for the full 10 million pounds up front, and then will be loaned back to Southampton as the Saints go for promotion to the Championship.

Summer: Maarten Stekelenburg will join for 8 million pounds. Out of contract in summer 2012, so he is available at a lower price than Neuer or De Gea, and as SAF rates them all around the same, Stekelenburg is the signing.

Jordan Henderson will join for 15 million pounds from Sunderland, plus Darron Gibson heading the other way. Welbeck returns from loan and is integrated into the first team.

Yann M'Vila will join for 15 million pounds from Rennes to be our primary holding midfielder. Second choice will be Henderson, Fletcher as the first choice off the bench, and first choice for our 3 man midfield that we deploy in Europe.

Jack Rodwell to join United in the summer with Carrick going in the opposite direction. Fee is way-off from being agreed at this stage but compromise expected. United offering £8m + add ons + MC, Everton want £14m + player.

I posted a few days ago that a close source to OT stated that United was seriously interested in what SAF described as "the most exciting young talent in the Championship". (Responses on this website thought I must be referring to AOC in Div 1) My source refused to give further details. I can now confirm from the same source that the player is Adel Taarabt. A contract has been signed between the clubs with a fee of 9.8m having been agreed. A further 2.2m will be paid to QPR based on appearances. There is also a 15% sell-on clause. The contract commencement date is 1st August 2011 for 3 years. Not sure when this will be announced.

This same source is adament that the Qatar take-over is on. Representatives from Qatar, USA and China all submitted bids and all successfully provided proof of funds. As preferred bidders, Qatar paid the PIK's as a goodwill gesture in lieu of due dilligence, which will be refundable if the sale does not go ahead. Negotiations are taking place regarding the timing of the take-over, which is likely to be summer of 2012, with Qatar funding next summer's transfer budget which the Glazer's will take credit for.

@Ed, Aguero's clause is £38.5m but I understand there are some tax issues on top. if these tax issues were met, how much 'in total' would he cost Spurs, Chelsea or Real?

£45m? £50m?
