I hope so, would be amazing for us. Think he may end up signing a new contract though unfortunately.

I think it's more likely that we will soon hear that he has signed an improved contract with Bayern.

I agree with redseven. I think also we were only looking at him as we new vidal wasn't available until the summer. I think come summer unless fellaini turns into pirlo vidal will be the primary target.

It seems Guarin to Juventus deal is back on. Not enough time to sign a player of Vidal's magnitude though.

It looks as though again we aren't finishing a deal for Garay and I don't think the reports of a bid for Otamendi are true.

And we end up with Plan C again :-)
Ah well, we have Mata, plus Fellaini should be much better than his injury troubled first 6 months, so he could be like an additional signing, and I honestly think we'll end up really happy with the guy. If we keep our best players injury free for most of our remaining games, we will be top 4 in my eyes.

Garay must be very disappointed with MU messing him around. Was his asking price really that much more than we offered for Otamendi? MU are leaving an awful lot until the summer.

I'm disappointed we haven't bought Garay but if the deals weren't available then Moyes is right to wait. If Zouma goes for £12m that will be kick in the teeth.

Clearly they don't see any value in the market. let's hope fit Rooney, RVP and Mata can make up for the gap in the middle of the field.

Zouma is not the experienced CB we are looking for to replace Ferdinand. We have Jones (21), Smalling (24), Keane (21). We needed experience, but it can wait til the summer when Vidic and Ferdinand inevitably leave.

I'd like to see Vertonghen come in for the Summer, he's now had a few years in the premiership and looks solid. I'd like to see Jones at CB for a stint also

Zouma may not be experienced but he looks likely to be one of the very best European defenders in a few years time with Didier Deschamps tipping him as a future captain of the French team. Would have been a good buy for us.

Man Utd update (from tv Sport)

David Moyes has confirmed there will be no more players joining Manchester United, but a few younger players will go out on loan.

"You can stand your cameras down at the gate today, " the Scot said in his news conference. "I don't think they will be required. We've done our business and we'll get on with it."

Mata is a great signing but once again we are left with that gaping hole in central midfield.
Come on David. it's just not good enough, somebody should have been identified and boutght in this window.

Kroos management have totally ruled out any suggestion of a potential bid from United. Shame. Wouldn't surprise me if Ed Woodward misheard moyes and is currently in LA trying to sign Tom cruise.

Wow, he would be ideal for the mission impossible that is top 4, the guy is an expert in impossible missions ;)

Last time I posted was about how Fellaini was the only certainty.

Moyes has given up getting a CM today. The total number of assists (in EPL) for Carrick + Cleverley+ Giggs + Fellaini + Kagawa is . 0. That's right, Zero. Jones has one and Cleverley has a goal. Needless to say, you understand why we needed Mata to provide assists and still desperately need a CM but Moyes feels Vidal in the summer is the best bet

The only real chance is of a CB and that too is unlikely today. Zouma is of interest to both us and Chelsea but is unlikely to join either, today.

Id be very happy with no more signings today and Vidal to come to OT in the summer.
Hopefully Moyes has learnt his lesson of last minute signings, with Fellani.

Chelsea bound! its all about the money!!

Vidal signing will be even more difficult if we fail to get into the Champions league.

Just read an interesting rumour that we are in for Townsend of Spurs. Not sure I think there is any legs in that story, but I can see us doing some business today.
