Sorry about the copy and paste:
Palmeiras have had a €4m bid from Manchester United for the 18-year old João Pedro, according to the Bandeirantes TV station.

João Pedro was a starter for the Brazilian team who were runner-ups of the U-20 World Cup, where he's been a teammate of Man United's starlet Andreas Pereira. The right-back is still 18 years old and is considered to have a great future.

Very new rumours that Bale's agent met MUFC representatives in London.

My question, why London? Why not Manchester?

Anyways, apparently Barca haven't been approached for Pedro. And This Felipe Anderson stuff on the Rumours page has got some steam.

But all in all i don't think anyone has any idea and personally i don't get caught up in it anymore. I will support my team regardless of who we buy, and whoever we buy i will support.

Lets look forward to the season and the unveiling of the kit tomorrow.

{Ed004's Note - Manutd offices are located in London tbf I would be over the moon with Bale}

Ed002 once said that agents and officials meet all the time. But it seems kind of unusual of the timing of this rumor. I wouldn't hold my breath over this though.

80 million and de gea for bale! Is that fair???

{Ed025's Note - no...far too much pep..

I did post this morning that the new kit is due it's official unveiling. Maybe Utd will unveil a new player. Maybe someone who we've never considered. LVG did say that. Bale would be top of my shopping list; young, fast, good ball sense. Bale might be homesick, just like De Gea. Who knows? But I can't wait for it all to unravel.

Mate. If united unveiled a superstar in the new kit I think I would lose it completely. How big time would that be. ?
Unreal craic if it happened.!
The number 7 shirt is about to be vacated. What better time to introduce the new owner of a very iconic shirt.

I'd accept not signing a centre back if we got bale. He's in the top 5 in the world!

Do you think we'll get John Stones? Apparently Jonny Evans plus cash? Cheers Edds!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed004's Note - I would be happy with Stones but don't think he will sign}

31 Jul 2015 17:53:45
Bale would be beyond amazing. Europe would be nervous about our return if he came in along with our other signings.

Shame really. but the brutal reality is Madrid would not even entertain a bid.

According to the Barcelona president, no one has approached them about Pedro.

Maybe he isn't a target after all?

As far as I can gather he has a release clause, so if we offer that then they don't have a choice? I would tend to not believe anything that comes out at this point, so difficult to know the truth.

{Ed002's Note - That is not correct.}

31 Jul 2015 16:24:14
What's not correct the fact that no one has bid or he has a transfer clause

This is what Ed002 said about clauses not too long ago, hope it helps:
The "buy out" clause is legally binding between a club and a player. The "buy out" is effectively what it says - a means for the player to buy himself out of the contract. As an example, if a player wishes to buy himself out of a contract, he pays the applicable FA the amount of the "buy out" clause effectively becoming a free agent. The problem is that in most cases a player would need to obtain that money from the buying club - and this is fraught with issues regarding "tapping up" and, of course, taxation as it can be seen as income for the player and would therefore be subject to income tax. There was a test case about the taxation issue in Spain about three years ago. So "bouy out" clauses are very rare.

A "release clause" is far more common in that it gives a figure that the club would accept for the sale of a player to another club - but it is not legally binding except where both parties are in the same country (for the sake of argument I should say that Spain and Portugal count as the same country as do England and Wales). These are normally unreasonably high figures (Messi at Barcelona for example) introduced to act as a deterrent for hostile bids - and even then the club could easily block a move. However, if a club does agree to match a release clause then the selling club would be obliged to ask the player if he is interested - there is no obligation on the player to make a move. Examples are Goetze who decide he wanted to move and Cavani who, regardless of two offers that were made in 2012 that matched or equated to his then "release clause" recognised Napoli did not want to sell and could block a move abroad and he accepted a new package. Since then Napoli said they will listen to offers of €60M or so and indeed accepted a bid the following summer - which is of course different.

There is then the becoming popular "termination clause" which is binding between the player and the club and if met would see an offer from anywhere accepted and the player given the opportunity to make a call on a move. This overcomes the issues associated with "buy out" clauses as the money would be paid by one club to another.}

Thanks for the kind words teddybear, from what I'm told I'm fairly convinced he'll go whether that be to us or elsewhere is the question
Just on the cb based in Spain, I have no rumours or anything but my I've got a feeling that it might be Inigo Martinez of Sociedad, although Mr. Moyer may be reluctant to sell to us for one or 2 reasons. We've enquires about him before, even last summer I believe, he's well experienced, is a left footer (as we know van gal is looking for one), has fantastic reading of the game and punches well above his weight in the air although he is not huge, he's been compared to Pujol and I believe he has a release clause, at least he did of somewhere in and around 20m, not sure if that is still there but he hasn't signed a new contract as far as I am aware.
Just a bit of a feeling I have as regards him

i believe its around 21.5 million release fee as liverpool went in for this guy with 14 million and they flat out rejected it

If we are after inigo Martinez and are successful in signing him, I'd be a happy bunny, very underrated by a lot and would improve our defence immensely!

I totally agree Ronnie. Very underrated player. I have seen more of him than otamendi so would be my 2nd choice behind Ramos which is getting ever more unlikely by the day.
