The home game against Villa is going to include a experiment to improve the atmosphere. The away quadrant will be designated as a singing section for home fans, with Villa's supporters being located in the 3rd tier of the SAF stand. (That's the stand opposite the TV camaras for those who don't know).
If this is successful it will be a permanent feature from next year.
Lots of stadia around the country have poor atmospheres, so I hope this works because some games this season have been dire in terms of noise.
Blackburn away on Monday was an example of real vocal support. I hope this can be transferred to OT. 7,000 brilliant fans at Ewood Park x 10 at OT would be fantastic!

Believable14 Unbelievable1

Depends who sits there i guess cant see it working myself, sound tavels awful around OT always sounds out of sync!

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to say that i hate it in the top of the fergie stand - you cant see half the crowd and you hear nothing apart from whats going on in that sector. at the stretford end the atmosphere is different class- bloody good idea to shift the opposition up there and give the lower stand to the regulars .

Lyon's France international left-back Aly Cissokho, 24, who has been linked with Newcastle, AC Milan and Juventus, is confident of earning a summer move to Manchester United.

Hopefully there is something in it and he's not just name dropping us so as to attract other teams. It happens far too much with us i'm afraid.

Just seen a rumour stating we are interested in 15yr old David Henen to add to our growing Belgium group of nationals & (hopefully true) early moves to tie up a deal for Martinez for £28 million, to be done start of transfer window.
Glazers have apparently given the green light. Hope it's more than just a rumour.

Would love to see Barca go out, hate them with a passion.
If they get through and face Madrid it will be the biggest face-holding fest of all time.

Supasub

Believable22 Unbelievable10

I want Barcelona to win and play Real Madrid in the final. With a strong German referee it could be a great game.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Real Madrid vs Barcelona , isn't that just wwe with a ball ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wont barcelona play chelsea in the semi's if chelsea get thru. barcelona vs real madrid final would b the perfect end to the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

It would need a strong referee, only I think the referee could easily, for lack of a better expression, in Barcelona's pocket. Hopefully they go out against Chelsea (LOL).

Percy

Agree0 Disagree0

This champions league has bayern written all over it

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't understand where the hatred for barca comes from. They beat us fair and square twice in the final because they are the best football team in the world. They are on course to reach the final again and maybe the first team to retain the champions league. They have the best players in the world in certain positions and they have probably the greatest player ever in the history of the game. What's not to hate about them haha but seriously give credit where it is due. They will be stopped soon by united when fergie gets united back up to class standards ie 2cm, lb, cb, am/lw/rw/ss and the remaining deadwood gone. Up the reds

Agree0 Disagree0

Sure credit where credit us due, but you havent mentioned the fact that they are a team full of diving cheats who constantly surround the referee en masse whenever a decision goes against them. And dont even get me started on this holier-than-thou, attitude which all of their players have, even the young players like Tello and Cuenca who despite being supremely talented already have the arrogance and sense of entitlement which Busquets an co parade around the Camp Nou every day.

Jaxer

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said, Jaxer! Couldn't have put it better myself.

#ags

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with u jaxer in a way that they do sometimes feign injury ie busquets but mainly do to the fact every team wants to beat them. Also their attitude on the football pitch in terms of ability is not arrogance but confidence. Most teams go to barca with a game plan which is to defend for 90 mins. Also you have to remember every team that is use to winning including my team mufc are all prone to harassing the referee when decisions don't go in favour. They have set the bar so high that most teams are beaten before they even step out on the pitch. That use to be us remember. You have to admit they are the benchmark and we are falling way behind, Madrid are close but not there yet. As I said I'm not a barca lover just an admirer of a great team who keep the football for will. Great team

Abs

Agree0 Disagree0

Jaxer hit it spot on. When you're that good, undoubtedly the best team in the world, why resort to diving and feigning injury to gain the advantage? And to do it constantly? Pretty easy to dislike.

Ruudinthemood

Adebayor anyone? Affordable, Realistic, Prem experience, Strong, Great in the air, can hold the ball up plus he seems to have dropped the attitude problems he had at arsenal, city and real. stick him upfront on his own rooney jst behind valencia and young on the wings! Simples!

Believable12 Unbelievable35

One small problem.......

He is owned by city and they will never ever sell anyone to us and we know that so adebayor will never play for united whilst city are his paymasters.

Agree0 Disagree0

Plus his finishing is very poor, worse than welbeck's. No thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually his finishing is pretty good if u go by shots per goal
also he has alot of assists i think

Agree0 Disagree0

I actual thought the same thing after watching spurs at the weekend,
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

Wages might be a problem as well, but as the other guy said City wont sell to us.

Agree0 Disagree0

We bought a youth defender from city in the jan transfer window! So they will sell to us.

As for ady, hes strong but slow. Bit of a donkey in my eyes, but does seem to get a few goals! - honestly think hes not united quality

Agree0 Disagree0

I see where you are coming from mate but we already have a player with those qualities in berbatov and we seem to be getting rid. Id rather take drogba and keep giving welbeck the experience for when we've had a season or two out of drogba.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok didnt realise city still owned him i thought real took him on a permenant then loaned him to spurs my mistake!! the reason i came up with adebayor is i dnt think there are many other "big name" strikers who look likely to leave the clubs there at. would love benzema, higuain, cavani, pato etc but cant see any of them happening so that leaves adebayor or huntelaar the only likely happenings in my opinion, i still think we need 1 more quality target man upfront but thats jst my opinion.

Im not sure Pogba knows what he is doing yet. I don't think it is very positive that it is dragging out this long now, even though he is featuring a bit more. But then again... I don't know where he thinks he will feature more in any of the teams apparently interested. What I do know is, i want it all to end very soon!

EDs.....did Anderson sign a new contract last summer or back end of this year(October time), i vaguely remembering him signing a new contract.

Also does anyone else think that Anderson may actually improve his game and become less injury prone if he shed a few kilos?

I think if he stayed injury free and got a run in the team would see that player that when he first arrived looked really good. I know a few people on here don't rate him etc but i actually think he has a very good work rate and adds steel to our midfield but like i said earlier those few extra kilos have a knock on effect and is often substituted.Mad Hatter {Ed007's Note - Anderson signed a new contract in December 2010 keeping him at Utd until summer 2015.}

Believable12 Unbelievable1

Anderson is a decent player when fit, but he is not suited in games where he has to track back. If he could stay up top against a team he would cause them a lot of problems. He did it at against Blackburn last season. He can be a very good player when he doesn't have to track back, problem is in the English game you have to track back.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

IMO, and this is just my opinion, Anderson's had enough chances. When we signed him, I was so excited about the player he'd become for us - the way he moved with the ball reminded me of Ronaldinho in a way.

But come on, the lad's now had how many years? Yes, he's had his injuries, but he's been unable to hold down a starting 11 position and more often than not, he's not impressed.

Personally, I think he should move on. But if he stays and is fit, plus if he regains the form he showed early on this season, I'd have no problem with it.

I just can't see 12/13 being any different for him - 10-12 appearances, perhaps 1-2 goals if we're lucky.....then 4months or so on the treatment table. For me, that's not good enough but I do like him and would like him to improve.

RED_SKY

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks ED007

Mad Hatter {Ed007's Note - No probs mate.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Completley agree if hi lost a tyre or two he may be less injury prone he just isnt consistent at all his performances are hit or miss and when he does string 2or3 good games together the sniper gets him and hes out for months i feel we need to sell and move on asap

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a bit of a chicken and egg situation - if he doesnt stay fit, we cant see how good he is...will he ever stay fit is the problem

I tend to agree with Red Sky though - when Anderson has had a run of 6 to 8 games in the past he has tended to play well in the first couple then looks like he cant maintain that consistently, tends to not be involved enough in games

If we could get any cash for him I would be very tempted. Trouble is will anyone want to pay money for a player who cannot stay fit and is currently injured?

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

RED_SKY

You are spot on my friend. Andreson has had enough chances.
He's going backwards, overweight, injured and when he plays he's shi*te!
Shame because he did show alot of promise when he first came.
People on this site keep bleeting on about giving him time. Well he's been at United since 2007 and managed 83 games which is shocking, add to the fact he cost us approx 20 million pounds.
Waste of money!

Simmo

Agree0 Disagree0

Anderson has had his chance lets move on and bring thru quality from within,or go and buy some quality

Agree0 Disagree0

You tend to find this with a few players. Some get injured alot when there younger, then a few years in when there fit and playing regular football they become amazing footballers! Its called the equilibrium effect. Look at van persies for of late! Last few seasons he was always injured, now hes been playing regular football hes in the form of his life!

Personally i think when anderson is playing hes decent. Look at the start if the season, him and cleverly were doing great in midfield! We were flying! Anderson didnt win the goldebn boy award in 2008 for nothing! Take a look at some of the previous winners:

Past Winners:

2003 Rafael van der Vaart (Hol) Ajax

2004 Wayne Rooney (Eng) Manchester United

2005 Lionel Messi (Arg) Barcelona

2006 Cesc Fabregas (Spa) Arsenal

2007 Sergio Aguero (Arg) Atletico Madrid

2008 Anderson (Bra) Manchester United

2009 Alexandre Pato (Bra) AC Milan

2010 Mario Balotelli (Ita) Manchester City

Personally i would give anderson a couple more years to mature and get fit before showing him the boot and regreting it. But each to their own.

Agree0 Disagree0

Really had high hopes for Anderson this season but again like every other year he gets injured. He is at utd long enough and has made no impression time for him to move on and this thing of him tracking back annoys me, it's his job to track back like every player who plays the game u work ur arse off if u don't have the ball. All young players where ever they come from should b thought this it's part of the game since it was invented. Would love to see us get a left winger in the summer as we are crying out for one somebody like McLean from Sunderland?

Hi ed or anyone, what do you think the chances are of Rossi returning? (providing he recovers from injury well). He looks destined to leave this summer probably for Italy, but I think hed be a good signing, probably shouldn't of let him go in the first place but I presume he wanted to leave because of first team chances.
Does anyone think he'd want to come if we went after him?
He could play infront of Rooney, instead of Rooney (glaring gap when he isnt playing) even out left in a 433.

Supasub

Believable6 Unbelievable13

Would be better than hernandez who cant trap a ball if his life depends on it -seems to have backwards in his career this season unfortunately

Agree0 Disagree0

I think there's no chance of Utd going for him he wanted out ,no return imo

How about Junior Hoillett to replace Park at the end of the season? He is available on a Free and though he didn't get much service in last nights game he still looked ok.

Believable23 Unbelievable9

Why not Promote the youth rather than use an average player never Man United quality

Agree0 Disagree0

Crap...end of!
Not Man United class

Simmo

Agree0 Disagree0

He may cost a couple of million, but his wage will be highish and why pay that when we have Brady in the ranks? Brady could replace Park.

Was at Ajax sunday 6-0 v Heracles, Eriksen had a hand in most goals and absolutely bossed the midfield he would be a great signing if we get the chance.

Believable29 Unbelievable4

*if he goes elsewhere in prem will be a bad move. he is pure pure class and just what we need IMO

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry left no name (best to name so if you dont agree you know who to shame)

MS85

Agree0 Disagree0

If we can sign one of Eriksen, Hazard or Martinez that would be FANTASTIC...

Of course in my dreams we get all 3 and dominate the epl and suddenly go up there with barca & Madrid and challenge for the CL again and again and again

Oxred

Agree0 Disagree0

Ox,

all 3 would be a dream! i do think eriksen would be 20 max to buy if we moved quick, ireally hope we do i could see him linkin with rooney welly and toni a tread (and hazzard of course!) vertonghen too great defender brings a ball out of defence very much like rio ans scores often too.

ms85

Agree0 Disagree0

I posted back in November that we could get these 3 we would have a formation of

__________ De Gea

Rafael_Smalling_Vidic_Fabio

________ Martinez

____ Cleverley _ Eriksen

__ Nani __ Rooney __ Hazard

This would be a fantastic team but also leave us with fantastic alternatives depending on the opposition/form/fitness etc

_______ Lindengard

RB _ Evans _ Jones _ Fryers

_________ DM

______ Anderson _ Pogba

Velencia _ Wellbeck _ Young

oxred

Agree0 Disagree0

Ox, I agree those formations are looking delicious, but too much flair can be a bad thing, so i would swap nani and valencia. oh yeh and nani just isnt a brilliant winger and doesnt work in a front 3

Jaxer

Dont like him he is overated where as javi martinez looks class so here would my team be
de gea
rafael vidic smalling sissoko

valencia martinez cleverly young
