Alex & Anelka put in transfer requests. I wonder if they could both be off to Spurs in January? With Bassong & Pav being sold to fund the deals?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - I need to clarify this a little in terms of these "transfer requests" and something which may have been lost in translation. The club agreed that both players may leave in January after the requested to do so. The agreement did not involve written "transfer requests" and does not include the players' financial entitlement of 5% being waived. Anelka is looking for a final "pay day" and moving to Spurs would probably not give an acceptable package either financially or in terms of the length of contract. As part of any deal I understand that the club may be willing to drop any financial demands from the buying club against possible options on players. They have doen this successfully before. As for Ales, he is looking for regular first team football and a contract that takes him to 32 and then a return to Brazil.}

I would imagine PSG, Anzhi, Malaga or Qatar could be Anelka's destination then? Alex perhaps Bayern or PSG? I did think this transfer request stuff was old news. As you have said Drogba & Kalou can also leave if they wish?

As you correctly noted, none of this is new in the big scheme of things. More really formalising what we knew would happen.}

The reason I want to know about Drogba & Anelka is because we want to offload Berbatov in January and if there are cheaper players on the market like Anelka & Drogba, this means we could struggle to offload him for a decent price. Anzhi who were thought to be willing to pay £15m for Berbatov or PSG who were also interested, may instead buy Drogba for less or Anelka for less and we will be stuck with Berbatov and his wages until June when we will lose him for nothing.

Anelka said to be in talks with Montreal of MLS. Not sure if they could afford his wages, but meetings have taken place.

Fair enough 'Sydney'. Perhaps you could have made that clear then ?
