Do Real Madrid have first refusal on Gundogan?

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There is an agreement between the clubs but it is not binding if the player wishes to move elsewhere. This was dealt with at the time.}

Ed002, good morning. I have seen your updates on Gundogan recently, but can I ask who you think COULD become interested in Gundogan other than ourselves and RM? A club that could make things tougher for us to sign him this summer. Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I can't say with any confidence Syd but there has been previous interest from a number of clubs that could well return with an offer if he can prove his fitness. Whether or not the likes of Rubin Kazan, Arsenal or Manchester City would be interested now I don't know. If Real Madrid are still interested he will move there - and I think that there is little doubt over that. I suspect that any suggested move to Bayern Munich will not happen.}

I don't see Dortmund selling to Bayern, but interest would seem to be there. The way I see it panning out is Real won't sign Vidal as he will stay in Turin. Real will therefore move for Gundogan, and we will move for Kroos. Carvalho will then choose between us and Madrid as we both seem interested if the price is right.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002, thanks for the reply, do you still expect Kroos to sign a new deal? Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Without knowing where the talks stand Syd I cannot say.}

Ed002, apparently the talks have stalled, but as you know that means nothing. If he's talking to them at all it means he would be willing to sign a new deal if they offer him what HE wants. I think MU would pay what is needed if he was to leave, MU don't seem to baulk at proven talent, especially with the predicament we are currently in. I just cannot help but think he is angling for a better BM deal. If he was to sign a new deal do you think Schweinsteiger or Martinez could become available? In your opinion. Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You are making a lot of assumptions that it is about money - my understanding is that it is not the case. Schweinsteiger and Martinez will not be made available.}

Ed002, playing time for the most part then I guess Ed? If so then there is always going to be an issue making Martinez, Thiago, Kroos, Goetze & Schweinsteiger fit into a side. Especially when the likes of Mueller, Robben, Ribery & Draxler (who they want) need to fit in too. Shaqiri I expect will be sold. I can see it being a problem for Pep to keep all of these players happy. Haven't BM also signed Rode? Hasn't Lahm been playing midfield too?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You are guessing Syd. And I can see players in your list who will be sold. You do realise that they have a squad of 25 and not just 11 Syd?}

Of course Ed, but if BM make the UCL final, you will have several players wanting to start in that game and if they keep getting overlooked for the big games they will become restless. It happens all of the time. Do you see Robben, Ribery & Shaqiri being sold? What about Mueller?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Munich do a very good job of keeping their players happy Syd. This is not the place to discuss BM transfers.}

Do we have any interest in Radja Nainggolan from Roma? He's been impressing me this year very tenacious box to box player.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - None.}

Joao Moutinho ed some chance no chance could happen might happen probably won't would be a great addition though. Any chance of Joao Moutinho eds great playmaker and would be cheaper than Vidal and them and would go well beside Kroos

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - It is not going to happen.}

Worth a try

The new Sneijder rumour United to bid 50m for .Fabregas lol. If Moyes does this again he deserves the sack for rank stupidity. Ofc unless he buys him

Believable1 Unbelievable12

I don't ever see that coming off. We have two accessible targets in Gundogan and Kroos. We should go after both, the £50-60 million out lay would be the vest investment we ever made.

Hi ed and best wishes to ctr and family, just want to know the story with william carvalho I've never heard of the guy only being linked to man u, is he any good and why is he so over priced, but all in all he must be really good for that 37.5m. Right now we should buy vidal and kroos and get rid of cleverly and carrick at all cost, really can't stand them any longer with there side way backword passing they don't deserve to wear the shirt and after his interview at olympiakos he can get gone.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - As you know, Manchester United cannot force to sell the player for his €45M release clause but Sporting have insisted that is the minimum price he would be sold for. There is interest in him from a number of clubs still and there has been a recent approach by Atletico Madrid. Sporting would ideally like to keep him a year or two more. The asking price will likely beyond what Arsenal would want to pay and I suspect Manchester United would also baulk at that price. Atletico would look for a different solution financially. Perhaps Manchester City would stump up the asking price?}

Vidal and Kroos, that would be a partnership.

Piece in the MEN today about the brother of Toni Kroos coming out and saying that Toni Kroos is considering a move to Manchester United in the summer.

Believable23 Unbelievable13

Yes I read the same, I think his brother is very very keen on him coming here, whether that will be enough I don't know. Pairing him with Gundogan would be ideal if we follow through with interest in him. A 4-3-3 with a midfield of Gundogan, Kroos and Fellaini would be immense. Mata, Rooney and RVP or new striker ahead of them.

Agree1 Disagree0

No Janujaz Fresh?
I think that kid is going to outshine everyone in a 1-2 seasons.
Still i'm liking your team and formation.

Agree2 Disagree1

We want to get to the stage where we struggle to fit everyone in. In some games we need a 3 in the middle but often Gundogan and Kroos as a middle two would be plenty good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Still not convinced by Fellaini Fresh.
I don't think he's mobile enough for a 3 man midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he would be better in a 3 man midfield rather than a 2, he can be the anchor man that sits a lot. Alternatively of course we still have Carrick for that role.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Carrick has seen better days to be honest, he's definately the wrong side of 30 and I think his displays this season have shown that.
I would keep for back up. squad player.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree and think that Fellaini should get a chance.
