United agreed deal with FC Zurich for 17-year-old right back Saidy Janko.

Believable27 Unbelievable8

Who is he?!

Agree1 Disagree0

I have read up online about him and he sounds promising can play anywhere down the right although at present he is a rb and is supposed to be very quick but I don't understand why we have signed to young rb when we have potentially the best rb in the world for the next 10 years and his twin to back him up

Agree1 Disagree3

We have Rafael and Fabio who are 23. Then we've got Marnick Vermijl who is 21, Guillermo Varela 20 and now Janko who is 17. Surely one or both of Vermijl/Fabio could be sold next season.

Agree0 Disagree2

Don't we need decent 16-18 year olds in all positions?

Agree0 Disagree1

I personally don't think vermijl will make it at ot. Fabio is better on the right than left but his brother has made the spot his so potentially I can see Fabio leaving in few seasons too

Agree0 Disagree1

Maybe we have 'discovered' him, and put forward an agreement so we can either keep him or sell on at a profit. Plus stopping others making the same choices.
Speculate to accumulate? Maybe!

Agree0 Disagree1

Ben80, what like missionary, reverse cowgirl and doggy and that? I guess we could all do with an 18 year old woman or three, but not sure our missus' will be happy with that ;)

Agree0 Disagree1

Don't you think it is too early to speak about his best position? For all we know he could turn out to be good at CB than at Full back.

Do we need reminding that Gareth Bale started out as a full back or that Fellaini was initially a striker?

Agree0 Disagree1

Amit, good point. The way MU are playing at the moment they would want a LB that can cut in side. So could he be converted into a LB?

Agree1 Disagree1

Moyes apparently wants to buy Seamus Coleman from Everton so he obviously doesn't share your view about Raphael being the best RB for ten years.

Few reports we had a €40 million bid turned down for Khedira. {Ed044's Note - I am told there was a bid but the number you have is wrong. Khedira had already made his position clear that he wanted to stay in Madrid whilst they were looking to sell him to another club, who were not interested at the price quoted.}

Believable18 Unbelievable6

Price was not wrong we offered 40 mil euros that got turnes down just like every bid we made in transfer window

Agree2 Disagree4

No bid was made for him just rumours

Agree3 Disagree7

@katef,
bid was made. Khedira has spoken about it today.

Agree6 Disagree0

He's not worth 40 mill anyway.

Agree3 Disagree1

Ed

What was the bid we submitted? The amount will be interesting fuel to the limited funds topic possibly.

Thanks {Ed044's Note - You would need to ask Ed02 to confirm the figure and I doubt he will answer.}

Hey eds are we after herrera in jan window? {Ed044's Note - See the reason given for him not signing in answer to another post.}

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Cut from Sky (Thanks)
The Spanish giants were prepared to let the 25-year-old move on, though, but only if they could bring in a replacement left-back. Guilherme Siqueira, who was available from Granada, was their top target.

By the time United firmed up their interest, Granada had agreed to loan Siqueira to Benfica - and subsequently Real decided not to sanction Coentrao's switch.

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry Folks the previous reply should have been for the Coentrao update.

Perhaps I've caught WOODWARDITIS lol

Agree1 Disagree0

Don't worry about it mate, for a second there I thought you were in imposter!lol

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry couldn't find the update. can you please confirm if we in for Herrera in Jan. Also, what is this story about imposters! Eds, please help us understand

I thought loan deals do not apply to the transfer deadline, I may be wrong, but if I'm not then surely Contrao's loan deal must have succeeded. Ed? {Ed044's Note - The transfer deadline applies.}

Believable2 Unbelievable6

mbd

Are we the most incompetent club in the transfer window? Eds, anyone? I think so. {Ed044's Note - Plenty of other clubs did not complete all of the deals they were trying to - Arsenal never got Di Maria, Chelsea could not get the striker they wanted, Roma did not get the player they wanted.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Can the deal be resurrected during the emergency loan window? {Ed044's Note - There is no "emergency loan window" - this is really hopeless mate.}

Agree0 Disagree0

mbd

Ed how can u say gunners dint get di maria there was no bid chelski no.bid for striker plus got eto, we made bids for players we had no way of getting moeya will now say.we have a good side that can win things well if that was case why make stupid bids for.players {Ed044's Note - Someone has misinformed you. Arsenal were in discussions with Real Madrid about the transfer of Di Maria. Chelsea were looking to bring in a striker yesterday but he was too expensive.}

Agree0 Disagree0

To those wondering, there is an emergency loan window which starts in a week but premier league teams can't accept loans, only loan out players to other football league sides (championship and lower)

Ed, can you confirm that the club have definitely arsed up the Coentrao deal as well? We really needed him, one of the top left backs in the world. I went to bed last night thinking we had signed him only to wake up and found out that we seemingly haven't. {Ed044's Note - The paperwork was not processed in time.}

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Sums it all up, Woodward needs to be left to do what he's good at (getting sponsorship NOT signing new players.

Agree4 Disagree0

If only our owners were actually embarrassed as much as the fans they'd be giving moyes and woodward their P45's this morning!I've said it all summer these 2 are yes men for the glazers, to them it'll be job well done.Where's all this sponsoship money gone?I'd be greatful if someone can divvy up how much money we've had invested from global companies only to be spent on 2 players, either of them hardly what we really need, both would hardly walk into any of our main competitiors teams!DISGRACE, get Fergie back in asap.in moyes and woodward we certainly don't trust!Another season for me without buying a home shirt!GREEN and GOLD again.glazers out!woodward out!moyes out!criminal owners, incompetent ceo, 3rd rate manager.

Agree8 Disagree1

I too was disappointed fresh! Let's keep the faith though dude. We will be there or there abouts at the end of the season & Fellaini will be awesome for us. 100% confident.

Agree0 Disagree3

Why all the doom and gloom?

We essentially have the same squad as last year that won the PL less Scholes + Fellaini + Zaha + some really good youngsters coming through.

We have a really strong squad - just need Moyes + coaching staff to get the best out of them.

Agree1 Disagree2

We'll have to keep the faith because that's just what we have to do as fans, I really don't think the transfer shambles is Moyes' fault.

I do however think that the reports of Woodward angering numerous directors of football with his extremely aggressive negotiating style, the 4.5m over payment for Fellers and the strangely public pursuit of assumingly unattainable signings is very very worrying for furture business.

I also share the concerns as to where all this new official tyre/crisps/wine/tomato juice sponsorship money is going, will it be reinvested in January?

We can only hope.

In Moyes we hope.

Agree5 Disagree0

The deal was not messed up by man u, it was madrid plulled plug on it because they wanted to bring in a left back on loan /transfer but because that dint happen they pulled out, end of day why we are worried about a laft back midfield is where we struggle everyone can see that well apart from moyes

Agree2 Disagree1

StefanoH your right we have got young players that look good but moyes overlooks them or has done for now, and liverpool game moyes lost plot jones has to come off turns to.bench and overlooks.smalling WTF

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey Guys donot panick Fellaini and Kagawa will deliver in midfield and you will start praising the team and its coaching staff. Remember Man City has a strong team but lost to new comers and last week they struggled so let's wait and see.
Susu

Agree0 Disagree1

Yes people, we still have a very good squad, have faith in Moyes(not woodward), fell is a good signing, fair enough we all wanted 3 or 4 good signings but do we then push back Kagawa and Januzzi even further and end up losing them?We will work with what we have and build again and so what if we don't win nowt this season, we will be back stronger than ever like we always do, BELIEVE

Agree1 Disagree2

People say keep the faith, giggs gets a start young starts both shocking, and like I said a young defender goes off and u put on a winger and leave a defender on bench, and funny that wing is only player with real pace in side not the best player but works hard and gives defenders hard time and would get ball in box to give u that half chance rvp could do something with

Agree1 Disagree0

In all honesty I started to worry as soon as that 26m bid went in for Fabregas all those weeks ago.
Unrealistic money to a club who didn't want to sell for a player that didn't want to leave.

I don't think Woodward knows what he's doing which is pretty obvious when we ended up paying 4.5m more than Fellaini's release clause was before it ended.

I'm glad we've got fellaini though but I don't think another option or two in midfield would have hurt.

I was happy with Moyes too but as others have said, he seemed to lose the plot a little with the subs against Liverpool. Not sure why Zaha and Kagawa can't get near the squad either.

EDS any news on Coentrao? {Ed044's Note - He stays in Madrid.}

Believable6 Unbelievable4

03 Sep 2013 01:09:32
has coentrao signed?

Believable6 Unbelievable16

No. Didn't go through. Sums up our whole transfer window! Complete embarrassment!

Agree4 Disagree0

No1 seems to know. And if they say they do, they're lying. Sly sports don't even know. One minute they include headlines of united signing him. The next they say we missed out. Papers and website also have contrasting stories. I guess we won't know until a statement is made by either Manchester United or Real Madrid!

Agree0 Disagree0

English media saying went through on time, Spanish media saying it didn't, just about caps tonight off really.

Prob won't get confirmation either way until morning, certainly hope it has.

Agree0 Disagree0

No was to late with the paper Wrk

Agree0 Disagree0

It appears that it has blown out - papers not signed in time. Had we got Coentreo too, it would have been half a good haul, now it's a third tops. I can hear SAF having some words to say down some shell likes. We are meant to be the by word of professionalism and slickness. My face is as red as the shirt. Now it's time to put wounded pride aside, with the upset and get behind United. We won the league by 11 points last season, we won't this but we'll come again. I'll have bad dreams tonight and wake up shy, then remember we are United.Lets use some youth too. (weep)
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

We signed and sent off the papers but supposedly Aidan's asked coentrao to stay, he agreed and real didn't, t send them in

Agree0 Disagree1

Lol at Aidans hate the ipad and its spellcheck

Was meant to be Zidane

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair, SAF didn't address the midfield problem either. Moyes at least identified that it needed sorting. He seems to have been let down by people further up the food chain.
