Just watching Juan Manuel iturbe against korea and boy this guy is a real talent. Anyone know anything about this apparent strange deal where by he will play in Portugal to get a work permit and then come to utd?
Mac

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Rumour has it that we have agreed a price for Iturbe with Porto before Porto signed him from Quilmes. Iturbe cost Porto 1m euro and it is rumoured that he will spend a year in Portugal to make a name for himself then join United if granted a work permit. Jorge Mendes is his agent and I think the agreed fee is around £5m.

Watching the highlights of Barcelona V Guadalajara (that club Hernandez played for).

They've got a 22 year old attacking midfielder that goes by the name of Marco Fabian.

This lad is awesome. I'm sure Hernandez would love him at United.

In my opinion, this lad could be a great replacement for Scholes. He's only 22 which means he has yet to reach his peak and I reckon we could get him for alot less than what Sneijder would cost us.

This player is one to watch for the future. I think Fergie should go for him because in time, every other big club will discover this player and we will lose out on him.

Anyone else think this lad would be a good replacement for Scholes?

Believable13 Unbelievable8

There is a pretty good article on goal.com on him.

Apparently not ready for Europe yet.

How cunning is the deal Barcelona have done with Chelsea for Romeu... They offered the same type of deal to Arsenal for Thiago (or so the papers said)... Could we use the same type of deal because we seem to have an abundance of youth talent but can't get them through to the first team or is the loan deal we are doing at the moment or best option??

Believable2 Unbelievable6

They did the same with Bojan to Roma. Very clever. If they kick on Barca buy back in 2 years for a fraction more than they sell for. If they flop they ain't lost out.

Agree0 Disagree0

But what makes you think the player will want to return to Barcelona?

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's be honest it's Barcelona... There's not many players that wouldn't rejoin or join them... Just think we could of had the same kind of deal will Rossi we have a good deal with his clause but not as good as Barcelona deal

Agree0 Disagree0

The Rossi deal expired my friend, but the reason he never returned to us was because he never wanted to return to England. I can understand players wanting to join Barcelona, but re-joining them may be different. They may prefer where they are now or they may have left Barcelona on bad terms with Barcelona forcing them out just to raise cash to bring Cesc in.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ah yes I understand those players may not but rather than Romeu I can't see the other competing for the league... Cesc was with Barc and had no problem thinking of rejoining but as u said the player may not want to I don't think Rossi would of rejoined us

have united released any official squad numbers yet? do we think the numbers from the tour will just be the same for the season? really thought rafael would get no2 and maybe some other changes

Believable12 Unbelievable1

I thought the same, i also thought smalling wud b 6. makes u wonder wot num sneijder wil b if he comes, he usualy wears 10

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not too sure. They're not selling shirts with any of the new signings on the back yet so there could be some changes. I think it all depends on who else gets sold or brought in (Berbatov & Sneijder for example).

"{Ed007's Note - They wanted Nasri and Eto'o, if they didn't get Nasri they would have turned their attention to Sneijder. They have now supposedly dropped all interest in Sneijder. Eto'o was a target as well}"

Is this because they are confident of getting Nasri or is it because Sneijder has rejected them ed? Does look like United are putting all eggs in one basket now doesn't it?

Another AM? Not many out there to improve them.

REDFAITH {Ed007's Note -As far as I know they were always confident of getting Nasri and Sneijder was their back up option. Utd and Malaga were/are the only teams with confirmed interest of signing Sneijder. I don't even think it got far enough with City to be rejected.}

{Ed007's Note - Manchester City have made a cash offer for Nasri and are confident of sealing a deal. They have been told that Eto'o is NOT for sale and they will try to sign another AM that is definitely NOT Sneijder. They have their eye on another well known player but as yet I don't have a name.}

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Thanks for clearing that up 007. Always been known for your work behind the lines. ;)

REDFAITh {Ed007's Note - Thanks mate}

Agree0 Disagree0

How comes they are goin for an AM as opposed to a striker, which eto'o is?

Sanshine {Ed007's Note - They wanted Nasri and Eto'o, if they didn't get Nasri they would have turned their attention to Sneijder. They have now supposedly dropped all interest in Sneijder. Eto'o was a target as well}

First time post, love the site Anyway just a thought, do you not think it's about time united actually made a concrete offer for either nasri or sneijder that is almost too good for arsenal or inter respectably to refuse, giving the players more time to settle in at the club?

D.V

Believable16 Unbelievable7

Don't much want Nasri, though he says he like playing in the middle, he's played on the wing for 90% of his career. We have plenty of wingers at OT and better ones than Nasri.WS is to injury prone, greedy and has only had one good season of club football since leaving Ajax. That was 2009-2010 when Inter won the treble. He was either injured or average at Real, so why should he be so great for us. He would cost £75m for four years in transfer fee and wages. Because of injury problems he's likely to only play 25 games a season, that 100 games over 4 years, That works out at £750,000 per game. There's no doubt he's been top notch at World cups, but that has not been replicated at club level. I would like Martin and M'vila, or Ganso and Sossoko, or, Gotze and De Rossi. Two top midfielders for the price of WS or if we go got one Ganso or Hamsik.
Welcome to the site anyway
Mik {Ed007's Note - Yeah, welcome to the site D.V.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Nasri hasn't played 90% of his career on the wing. Also, it is like Nani playing on the right or left. On the right he is one of the best, most influential players on the pitch whereas on the left he isn't as good. This is the same with Nasri who is one of the best in the middle but when he was forced on the wing because of Fabregas returning he went nowhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

FED up of reading this 2 names... NASRI and SNEIJDER...

Agree0 Disagree0

Goetze and De Rossi for me all day. That would be a class pairing in the middle, no nonsense tough tackling and creativity.....nothing else needed

35-40mill for the pair as De Rossi is in his last year of contract so about 15 mill and about 20-25mill for Goetze.

Salford C

Agree0 Disagree0

Nasri played primarily on the wing at Marseilles and has played on the wing far more than anywhere else at Arsenal. Also £20m - £25m with a year left on his contract is expensive. It's the equivalent of paying £35M+ if he had 2 or 3 seasons left on his contract. I didn't hear any United fans last season say "he's one we should go for". As for Nani, he's a far better player than Nasri. Nasri stats were good last season 15 goals and 4 assists. Nani's were awesome 9 goals and 18 assists. Toni Valencia plays as a centre mid for Ecuador, but he like Nasri does his best work out wide.
On another note, Toni would be an awesome wing-back/ right full back.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

@Salford C.
Sadly Goetze is not for sale. And if he was i would expect a price of 35-40mil. If PAstore goes for 37mil and Sanchez for a similar fee, Goetze who imo is better and more talented than the two will go for just as much if not more.

REDFAITH

Agree0 Disagree0

No player United looks at is for 'sale'. Every club wants to keep hold of their talented players. I know what you mean about the price, he is more talented than the other 2 guys and younger, but Sanchez ended up being an initial fee of around 24mill wasn't it? Pastore left for so much due to PSG having billionaire owners so the price goes up due to the bidder. So theres no point putting a price on what we think he will leave for as it will change with the market. My point was just get the kid bought, hes pure class, young and plays in a league that is most similar to the EPL so should fit in with our league and style of play.

Salford C

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree Salford C. Goetze imo is the only "young potential" we should look at after Sneijder, Nasri and Modric. Whenever he does become available we should do all we can to sign him. He comes as close to being the next Paul Scholes as it gets.

REDFAITH

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally happy with cleverly. Oh and we've already got him. Screw the big names at their twilight. Stick with the youth - we are united it's what we do.

Agree0 Disagree0

I do agree that cleverly is the future, but with scholes supposed to be going to coach the youth team he has no one to learn off in the attacking midfield role and he is still far off the finished article. Also I am fed up of the nasri and sneijder rumours but of we got one of them then it would be a huge boost to the club

Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder has refused to rule out a move to Manchester United but is likely to have to lower his wage demands to seal a move to Old Trafford.

Believable27 Unbelievable3

I think Ferguson is waiting for PSG to make their move for Dimitar Berbatov. That way, the money we make from the sale of Berbatov... can go on Sneijder's wages.

We've already made £6 million from the sales of Wes Brown and John O'Shea.

So really there is no "we can't afford his wages" excuse.

Agree0 Disagree0

SAF should not consider the move,he should go for Mario Gotze

heard were going to sell berba and bring in jelavic ? like for like with jelavic younger ? Thoughs ed ? {Ed007's Note - LMAO}

Believable4 Unbelievable20

There is no real interest in Jelavic from United. We are going to use the Berba money towards a young mid say Rodwell or Goetze or even Kagawa.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's been a while since you posted this crap but generally you post it twice in quick concession. None of your players at rangers are good enough as proven by malmo and hearts

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather Welbeck replace Berbatov than bring in Jelavic.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jelevic is an ordinary £5m championship level player. I worry that if we sell Berbatov and we don't get a new striker, what will happen if Chico or Wazza gets injured. Diouf and Macheda are championship level £2m-£4m players, not United class for sure.Wellbeck may make it, but we usually have 4 quality strikers. I would like two midfielders an attacking one like Hamsik or Ganso or Gotze and a holding player like Sissoko or M'vila.Unless we can pick up a decent striker for £15m I'd keep Berbatov - Berbatov, Rooney, Chico and Wellbeck sounds cool. Rooney, Chico, Macheda, Owen and Wellbeck sounds weak. We can't go into a new season with 2 top and 1 up and coming striker (Wellbeck). The Rangers player only has to play against Celtic that are better than the English championship. He'd be a rubbish buy even at under £10m
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

Well we have only got 200 strikers We could really find ourselves in trouble if 199 of them got injured Sod the midfield lets buy more strikers
Woffsta

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldnt be worried about Berba going if PSG are willling to pay upwards of £15mill.

Of his 21 league goals last season 13 came in 4 games which meant he scored in 12 games He didnt register once in the CL and hasnt for over 2 seasons.

We would then have Rooney, Chich, Owen and Welbeck. Thats a pretty good 4. With Nani and Young being capable of playing through the middle and the possibility if Sneijder signing i think we'd be okay attacking wise.
