With all these rumors of Real bidding for Nani then perhaps we could make a deal with Real. We'll sell you Nani if you leave us free to get Modric?

Believable3 Unbelievable39

Stupidest comment ever!! When in the history of transfers have you seen a deal like that? Leave him ruin his career buy going to La Liga... He fits into English football and la liga is way out of his style and he doesnt even know! I dont want us to spend 30+ on any 28 year old or near that age unless its Wesley Sneijder!
- Newton Heath

Agree0 Disagree0

Newton Heath:

That is possibly the worst comment i have ever read. La Liga is out of style? hahaaa you could argue it is seeing its best times in 10 years with the current Barca team and with Ronny and Messi going head to head, what planet are you on! Modric is 26 not 28 and he is better than Sneijder. You would not have a clue if this type of deal has happened before and even if it hasn't then there is no reason that it couldn't! Ruin his career by going to Madrid? We're all united fan here (I presume) but common pal that's also a stupid comment, Madrid have more talented players than us at the moment unfotunately as you should know because they have taken one of our best and have also signed two or three players that we have wanted and still want to sign. La Liga is also a very technical league based more on posession and one might say his game is more suited to La Liga than the premier league. You would pay 30m for Sneijder but not Modric? No doubt you have watched some of the euros, seen him play well and want to spend 30m + on him? If you had watched him at inter this season then I don't think you would be saying this as he has not played well and is quite injury prone.
Also, starting with "Stupidest comment ever" is a pretty childish way of starting a comment.... How old are you? I could not find a single word of your comment that isn't stupid except the question, which ironically, was the whole point in the post.

Dan

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree with both sides on certain points of this, however Sell Nani and RM agree not to go for Modric, that still does not stop other clubs from signing him! Modric is also not better than Sneijder, I would rather see us sign Lucas & RVP. At the end of the day it is all peoples opinions and who we sign and sell will be down to FERGIE. Let's hope for a great season ahead guys COME ON YOU REDS, Miles

Agree0 Disagree0

I would like Lucas but he will be utilized as a winger probably on the left like CR7 was. I honestly think Modric is world class and if you give him a player like Rooney and Kagawa to pass between and pacey wingers like Valencia (and maybe Lucas) to feed he will show this. He is the only player that is similar to Scholes in stsrting in attack from deep. Sneijder hovers between the lines or comes in from the left to make an assist he doesn't tend to start plays from deep which is what we need IMO. Kagawa and Roonet will be our attacking mids/ number 10s to do what Sneijder would do.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take Sneijder over Modric any day. Modric has an attitude problem and if there's one thing that United has been consistent about...it's having players with level heads and keeping the egos at a minimum (Ronaldo the exception of course lol). The Euros proved that Sneijder was the only player on the Dutch team who didn't let the expectations of the team get to him, he was by far their best and most level headed player. That being said and back to the original post, I wouldn't mind if Nani were to be sold but not at the expense of a deal that would see us maybe or maybe not getting a player. If he was to be sold to Madrid, it would have to be 25 million or something involving Khedira/Sahin. I think Nani would do better in Italy IMO and probably wouldn't break into the first team at Madrid. But if their was a good offer for him then I think the club would have to take it.

Andy

Agree0 Disagree0

Would you not rather see a say 7million+Sahin, or more than 7million just an example?!
U.T.I.D

Agree0 Disagree0

Newton Heath:

Very silly comment! Agreements like the one in question happen all the time between football clubs and we never know. Like the one where we agreed to sell Ronaldo the year before he left! As for Modric and Sneijder they're both fantastic players who would both do well at United. Not sure about letting Nani go though without a replacement and even then would rather he stayed but then again that's up to Nani. If he signs the contract on offer to him he won't be going but if he gets greedy and wants more money than the reported £130000 a week then he's not consistent enough to get more or demand more and will be sold. Hope then daily mail rumours about Moura are true!

Sorry dan i do remember cr7 playing on the left but only rarely when switching sides he was a right winger but i agree with the rest

Dan, I'm sorry i didn't check Modric's exact age at the time. Im not saying pay 30+ for Sneijder i would much prefer if 20 was spent on Sneijder than 30 on modric and after 4 years Luka saying he wants to move to spain and we sell him for 10-20 as he will be 29/30 at the time...
As with Sneijder if you watched any of Inters games you will see how poor he was YES but had inter a good season full stop? With players on good form in the dutch squad it was very evident how much ability he had.

You are going to say because a player has one bad year he is a terrible player? First of all he said he wants the move to united last summer but it didn't happen, his mindset might have been completely off Inter last year..
How many players in the past have thought a move to La Liga was there way forward? Forlan, Van Nistlerooy, Becks, Owen, Kaka.

You know what makes your Sneijder isnt good enough for us statement, people say Nuri Sahin is a good replacement for us with 4 appearances under his belt... So 30+ appearances with inter is not good enough for us but injury struck Sahin with 4 appearances IS good enough..
Good Riddance Modric enjoy La Liga! Anyone who thinks if we give Real, Nani and they will think thanks now you can have modric without our complaint, is still wrong IMO
- Newton Heath

Agree0 Disagree0

Madrid are the Galacticos for a reason, any of our players would join them tomorrow if they could!

Agree0 Disagree0

Newton Heath

I didn't say Real Madrid would buy nani and let us sign Modric without complaint. I said it's possible an agreement like that could happen as these thing go on all the time in reply to your pathetic comment "when in history have you ever seen a deal like that." More to the point when in histroy have you been privy to any deal other than what you read in the papers.

Just heard on MUTV that Mike Phelan managing the team in Norway on Sunday as Ferguson is on other club business. Doesn't mention what tho.

Believable25 Unbelievable2

According to todays daily mail utd have agreed a £30 million deal for moura and he's travelled down to old trafford sunday for a medical and fergie's stayed behind to finalise it

Daily Mail are saying Lucas has travelled to OT for a medical! And, he is going to compromise to 20m to get the RVP deal done! I know its the daily fail but fingers crossed!!

Dan

Believable22 Unbelievable11

I would love to believe it but Daily Fail is never reliable. Awful with sports news. We can dream though.

Agree0 Disagree0

We apparently had a 27 million bid accepted a few weeks ago according to them.

clearly a way to make paper sales. Papers used to be quite acurate now there full of
BS.

Untill it's on SPN I'm going to be optimistic and not get to excited.

MUFC1990 {Ed007's Note - How excited did you get last summer when SPN said the Sneijder deal was done...or that Hazard was coming to Man Utd a few weeks back? Sly is just as reliable as the Daily Fail, it's just gutter press on TV and with 24 hours to fill along with it's betting company to advertise they are not reliable or trustworthy.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I don't believe a story has a chance of being true until I see it up on the BBC sport site. Not the gossip page but the actual front page. They seem to be pretty careful to not post crap
Hallis

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed2007 - well sky sports are more reliable than any paper.

Untill it comes up in the yellow bar on sky sports saying united have completed the deal, I don't get excited about nothing.

And I knew all a long that the SNIDJER deal wouldn't happen and hazard was just an attention seeker he knew where he was going from the start he just wanted the attention form the press.

MUFC1990 {Ed007's Note - You keep believing that then, I just hope you aren't getting conned into gambling on their advice. Why do they need to give you the odds on practically every story they run with?}

Agree0 Disagree0

I do laugh when people call S**t Sports News a reliable source.

G.A.G.U.S {Ed007's Note - It's ridiculous GAGUS, how many times have we been through this now?}

Agree0 Disagree0

MUFC1990

Dont be silly mate Sly are the most unreliable source of any information, they use there channel to change odds in their favour and make you think oh thats a safe bet il gamble then its totally the opposite.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because it makes there station get more views. Most of the time sky sports news are spot on.

But until it's on uniteds website you can only be open minded about any rumour.

Surley sly spurts is the most reliable source when it comes to football transfers!

MUFC1990 {Ed007's Note - Mate, honestly it is not. I am not going into a boring speel over it with you, someone will be happy to explain it to you. It is all just geared towards getting you betting. Think back to how many of their 'Sly Spurts sources understands' stories come to anything.... What other news programme tells you the odds on stories? The BBC don't give you odds of someone getting stabbed in Glasgow on a Saturday night do they. 'It's 'news' Jim.....but not as we know it'.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Bet MUFC1990 has an account with sly bet lol

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not saying sky don't say things to make
People place bets I'm saying untill it's announced on sky sports saying its completed you
Can belive the rumour and as for an account on , that was poor pardoe I feel embarrassed for you. But I wounder what the odds are for you
Being a t**t? Maybe that's worth a bet LAUGH OUT LOUD

MUFC1990

Agree0 Disagree0

Sky Sports News said there was 'exciting' news coming up NEXT for Manchester United fans. What was the news? Wages were a problem with Sneijder.

They said Hazard 'wants to join United'.

They ran quotes from Pogba's fake twitter account for a full day.

Reliable? Eh, no.

G.A.G.U.S {Ed007's Note - They had exciting news about Sneijder, two hours later they said the odds on him joining Utd had been cut!!}

Agree0 Disagree0

MUFC1990,

Pardoe is respected and funnier than you will ever be, don't be abusing people on here for no reason, he was having a laugh. I am guessing you are under 14 years old.

Sky Sports are not reliable, made me laugh when I just read this and then Ed trying to explain it to you for a long time is hilarious.

I posted on here a couple of weeks ago a post saying Pogba had agreed to stay at United, reported by Sky sports sources. They are generally a joke.

Does anyone know how much the glazers are paid in wages by the club if any?

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Why would the glazers pay themselves wages....

fearny

Agree0 Disagree1

I believe they are paid in blood, just the way the blood sucking leeches like!

Andy B

Agree0 Disagree0

They receive very good salaries and very good bonuses.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

They own the club...

awkward

Agree0 Disagree0

Most who own a buisness pay themselves a wage . Don't know if the Glazers do or not but no matter they still get end up with a good return on their investment .

Agree0 Disagree0

When did the Glazers invest in th club?

Getting a massive loan to buy the club and the transferring the entire loan, and the risk, back to club isn't a form of investment.

Danny Pughnited

Agree0 Disagree0

We the fans pay there wages.

LOVE UNITED HATE GLAZER.

MUFC1990

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't get the boycott idea. It only harms the club. I say, even though it makes me sick, the more valuable the club becomes then the quicker they might sell for a huge profit. Therefore, keep buying to get them out!

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

WOW YOU person!! THEY OWN THE CLUB THEY CAN HAVE EVERY SINGLE PENNY IF THEY WANT!!! sorry for the caps but that is such an personic question
-Newton Heath

Agree0 Disagree0

If I were a business man and not invested in the club I'd milk it till your teats bleed Danny

They own it get over it

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

This isn't a stupid question at all. Yes they own the club but the ones that an have active role as well, would receive a wage, a pretty large one as said above, and completely separately receive dividends for the shares they own. Because they have complete ownership it may not be as black and white as that bit in this instance I believe they do take a wage.

TM

Agree0 Disagree0

Minimum wage, I've heard

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

... The whining of the Glazers continue.
They bought the club legally, placed the debt back tonthe club with endorsement of the banks. The club continues to be identified as the most valuable sports club in the world. When they sell the club they will make a huge profit.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sky Sports pay the wages - not the fans

I have seen posts on nuri sahin and i think he would be a great addition . However i saw a post on his price being nearln doubled from 8 m to 18 m but onl being on thr bench i think if he wasnt in his last year of contract at dortmund he would be valued at that 20 m However i do agree that his price should have dramatically deflated over the last year. If valuedmat 20. ( if not on last year of contract). Ed do yOu agree or see his price beeing increased from the 8 m

Believable4 Unbelievable6

They do want £18 million for him and that is why they are looking to loan him out to give him a chance to impress and prove he is worth that valuation. They are determined not to make a loss on a player, like they are doing with Kaka

fearny

Agree1 Disagree0

You know this makes no sense?

8 million to 18 million = nearly doubled? That is just one of the things that makes no sense!

GDS

Agree0 Disagree0

What are you on about? All I could make out is that he's actually at Real Madrid not Dortmund ... The rest I struggled to understand,
Hallis

Agree0 Disagree0

Real stole him for £8m - but he's not worth any more than £12m...

T0MB0Z

Agree0 Disagree0

He is worth what fergie is willing to pay. This site is riddled with accountants. Come 31st August when we don't sign anybody, then people will be saying why didn't we go the extra few quid. The amounts we have and the amounts we bid will all be conjecture. Sit back and enjoy the next 4 weeks gents, I am sure we will be rumoured with many more players before month end, at prices I may agree with but you won't, and visa versa.

Parkie mufc

He was probably 8m because he had only a year left on his contract or that he put in a transfer request with Dortmund. Or both.

I think this so called agreement for Lewandowski is a load of rubbish made up by the media who are struggling for news. Why would we agree to sign a player for the 13/14 season when he could be helping us to the title next season?

Surely if we were going to sign him we would just take him now, settle him in and push him to his peak. Sounds stupid to me.

It has all gone very quiet on the transfer front for United and now rumours are all we have. I haven't even heard Moura being 'signed' in the past few days.

1redarmy

Believable14 Unbelievable9

Think about fergie persuaded ronaldo to stay 1 more year before he left dortmund have probabley said give us 12 months and you can go he happens quite a lot

Agree0 Disagree0

Likely to be more of a case that Dortmund have reqyuested one further year from him. Although, as you say, evenmore likely is that the whole thing is made up.

MDJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Well we know we are in for RVP this summer. Perhpas he is the back up plan for next summer if we dont get RVP.

Agree0 Disagree0

I posted on here a couple months ago that I had heard that Lewandowski has agreed to join us in principle from next season. I also heard the same agreement was in place for Kagawa 12 months ago. Didn't know how accurate the info was, but I guess it could have some legs?

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Look after Lewandowski for us Dortmund.
I hope the price has been discussed if this rumours true. If there isn't a fee set in stone for next summer his price will go up if he notches 27plus goals.

I also think it'll be down to see what kind of season Chicharito has 3rd season round.
Will he emulate his debut season & can Welbeck hit 20 goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

Or can we get RVP who is guaranteed for 25 goals or more...

(Copy and Paste)

According to reports in Italy and Spain Manchester United have come to an agreement with Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski who is set to join the red devils for the 2013/2014 season.

Lewandowski has been linked with a whole host of top European clubs this summer with Chelsea, Man Utd and Juventus reported to be the front runners, in fact it had been reported that Juventus had turned their attention to the Polish international as an alternative to Arsenal’s Robin van Persie and that Chelsea had in fact made an official approach, now however it does appear that the 23 year old is destined for Old Trafford.

Lewandowski contract with the German champions runs out in the summer of 2014 and so it makes sense for them to hang on to one of their best players for another season and secure a deal whereby they maximise his value at a point when he has just one year left on his contract, by agreeing a deal with Man Utd now they achieve that specific aim.

The Polish hit man has played an integral part in Dortmunds rise to the pinnacle of German football and has become much sought after, it now appears that it is Man Utd that have finally won the battle to sign one of Europe’s finest young attackers.

If this is true, then it may be we keep hold of Berba for another season. Hernandez isnt good enough and will be sold to somebody like West Ham or Sunderland next season for £10mil, probably loaned at Xmas to try and inflate cost. Then we have Welbeck, Lewandowski, Rooney vying for 1 position as we will convert to a 4-5-1, permanently.

Eds, and all, thinking about the LB position, I've come to think we need to find an available LB either on loan, or a veteran who can play 10-15 matches a season. Evra, despite his defensive struggles, plays most of the matches, and Fabio, who I think will be his natural replacement, is on loan which is the right move. Fryers would have been ideal, but now I think we need to bring someone in for a season. So, does anyone have any suggestions? Who might be available for Bosman or loan? --KG

Believable3 Unbelievable6

I think Tyler blackett is capable of filling in for certain games (eg. Early stages of CL and as a half time sub against weaker BPL opponants). He's a good player who likes to get forwards. This attacking mentality will not be an issue because this season Vida will strengthen the defence. Save funds and give him some first team experience.

Players to come in .. Wanyama 8 million .. Nuri sahin , as Madrid will take the money rather than him go on loan to arsenal and still pay a percentage of his wages .. Moura more than likely . As negotiations have been ongoing for a while , fergie wants this dude to bring flair to a flat team last season .. Rvp. No chance .. His mind is made up to go juventus . He wants to stay a legend at arsenal like Henry .. Left back position is more interesting , we may get Oviedo as If baines was to come , then evra may leave , which after fergie praised him recently doesn't look likely !
