"I work in the financial services industry & a former colleague of mine who now works for a bank has informed me that Man Utd have quoted for a forward contract of €20,000,000 to pay a German company. Make of it what you will, but here's to hoping it's for a certain pig mounter!"
I have dealt with forward contracts in the past but if I recall normally you have options to buy forward for a currency to fix the rate of exchange in future i.e. not at spot rate, however I don't believe you have to specify which country it is for, only the currency; so to me this is a little flawed. Anyone have more in depth knowledge ?

If United have a forward contract for 20M Euros, surely this is for De Gea as this is the same figure as his buy out clause.

@They are actually rumoured to be offering 45m for Bale, they do not mean 45m plus Lescott & Adebayor, they mean 45m in total, for example Adebayor (20m) plus Lescott (10m) plus 15m cash.
Similar to the Milner deal, that was a 24m deal, they paid 16m cash plus Ireland (8m).

He was forced out by Benitez. I'm not saying he'd go to a smaller club, there'd be numerous suitors for Alonso's signature, I'm just saying he'd never go to Utd out of respect for the club. Remember Liverpool is the most followed non-Spanish club in Spain.
I think someone has looked at this thru red tinted glases. I don't think he was too concerned when he left about Liverpool and I doubt he is now, if he was pushed out after being one of there best players why would he care? He wouldnt!

Look guys, i have no sources at all. im just a football fan. I think that schweinsteiger is just a smokescreen, i can't see him fit in the united line up and our style of play, i know he's a box to box midfielder and everybody thinks that he's what we need. .i also think that united aren't in for a CAM at all. we never play with CAM's. i think that the realistic targets are:

Schweinsteiger can play a lot of roles in midfield. He can play as a deep lying playmaker, box-to-box or even as a CAM behind the striker.
In all this roles he played to great effect for Bayern or Germany. There is no doubt that he would fit in perfectly at United.
