what is the Utd's interest in Mata and how likely would it be that we would go for him this Jan? I think we should snatch him for 35 - 40m and will be totally worth it. The team will improve just enough to win the league or at least to stay in at top 4. Thoughts?

Superb player though he is, we need a central midfielder who can play the role Giggs did against Bayer. Not sure Mata could adjust to that role.
If we fill that role, then yes, Mata would be great too. But I don't see Chelsea selling to us, PSG or Spain would seem more likely.

More media rumours of us bidding for Sneijder in January. Nani and Valencia to be offered to Galatasaray in part exchange. Heaven forbid more Sneijder rumours, thought we'd done that!

Hope they are just rumours, the Sneijder boat sailed long ago imo.

I wouldn't be overly suprised.

Sneijder could still be a very effective player for us particularly in an area we are weak. Moyes will have his own views on players and although we didn't sign Sneijder under Sir Alex, Moyes may have interest.

Seems too expensive including both Valencia and Nani though

You don't understand, we'll still be linked with a move for Wes Sneijder even after he retires. It's an old tradition.
