not really a rumour but apparently united put in a bid for neymar, which if so confirms there's interest and his contract runs out in 2014 and he has said he will not sign another deal, so getting this guy on a free transfer or on a cheap tribunal fee will be a massive signing, but wages will be humungous due to practically every club in top 5 of most top leagues will be in for him!

If he signs for Manchester United I will cry a little bit! Barca or Madrid to get him unless the special one is already at old trafford and wants a star signing this would be that player will see what happens (might end up at city if he just wants big wages lol)

Eds, can you confirm a bid has been made or is it just a rumour? It would seem unlikely to me, but we can all hope! Thanks,

He will eventually move to Spain. Although Chelsea, City, PSG & Anzhi will do their best to derail his preferred move. He is a very good player, but do wonder if the EPL is the best place for him, he would spend more time on his ass than on his feet.

Spain because of the weather, Italy because of their history with star Brazilians or England so he can get battered week in week out?
Not coming to OT.

Agree with Sydney and MDJ can only see him going to spain! and on the original post. sounds like a rumour to me!

How good do you guys think he will be?
I haven't seen a lot of the guy tbh of course he has a lot of hype around him. but others have and turned out to be average. is he the real deal?
irrelevant as it is he is awesome on fifa!

He'll be at Barcelona in no time. No chance he comes here. Santos aren't going to accept less than £35 million for him. He's a fantastic kid but he won't be coming here. If he does I will literally cry

I'm brazilian so I have to give my impressions of him:
- genious of a player: way above others so much that received, at the age of 20, "hors concours" in the most important brazilian award.
- no injuries. the guy is as health as. Messi. Playing at the top level with probably one or two minor injuries, but that's it. Truly blessed.
- people, journalists specially, try to make him something like a Bad Boy, but in reality not only he IS very gifted but every year he comes better at the start of each season.
First year (17 years old) people said that he was lacking concentration and objective: he stopped dribbling so much and now always aims for the goal
Second year he developed his teamplay, by actually not only scoring goals but also doing assists.
Third year he started scoring goals from free kicks, obviously he trained like hell to become so good in such a short period of time.
To people who don't know him: he's considered the best player of him generation, even to the extend that Lucas, from PSG, is considered he's benchwarmer. (and Lucas is another spectacular player. )
He's wages in Brazil are about 500,000 pounds. can reach up to 1,000,000.

From what I've seen he is a class act and will be one of the world's best. In terms of forward play he has it all - pace, trickery, creativity and finishing ability.
I would also assume he will end up at either Real/Barca. The style of play would suit him more in Spain and those clubs are usually able to offer a nice finacial package. Also, there is the weather and lifestyle compared to Britain! : /

By the way, one thing that I forgot to mention: he's secret, or one of the most important ones, is his father (which os his agent too).
His father is awesome. Example: until recently he was the one managing all the money so, if neymar wanted a car, he would have to score 3 goals, or score a goal and do an assist.
Another great story: Neymar got his girlfriend pregnant. Do you guys know what his father said? "Be a man".
This just shows that behind the best brazilian footballer of his generation is someone that knows how to deal with him, so people should not be as concerned as, for example, Ronaldinho Gaúcho, who had a very sad decline or, Adriano. Neymar IS the real deal.

I've thought this could be fergys last year for a couple of years now and for me it's looking more and more likely.
Same goes for Jose being our next manager

Yeah Dortmund are going to sell their main striker to their main domestic rival!

I think this is more likely than him coming here plus do we need him RVP, ROONEY, CHICARITO, WELLBECK, MICHEAL KEANE, JAMES WILSON, HENRIQUEZ, BARMBY we have so many great forwards why should we spend 20m on a forward the money would be better spent on a cm Kate. f
Agree0

Michael keane is a center back but yes some quality strikers.

Agreeed Kate. Not only do we have top first team forwards we are also stacked with top forwards all the way through the reserves and academy. I would like to see us go back in for Modric this summer, or failing that, Fernandinho or Paulinho.

If sir Alex believes he will improve us and the player wants to come then he, s our man simple!
Personally he's one of the best in Europe/world football and we have nobody like him hope we get him

Well did arsenal want to sell RVP to us?

Mandzukic - Wolfsburg. Neuer - schalke. Gomez - Stuttgart. Klose - werder Bremen. Podolski - cologne. Lucio - bayer leverkusen. Frings - Dortmund. Ze Roberto - bayer. Ballack - bayer. Pizarro - werder.
Bayern have a history of signing people from clubs who have recently been challenging them, so I wouldn't be surprised at all of the shipped out a lot of money to get Lewy

Sorry Dan lol ment his brother Will I agree Modric would fit our style and he is proven in the prem I would like to see us get Wilshere but that's not going to happen and Modric is more realistic Kate. f

Sorry Caolain be yes I ment his brother Will and sorry to Dan to if I have confussed you answered both at same time I must be ready for bed not doing very well with who I am talking about but I guess as long as I know what I mean lol Katef.

Contract will run out summer 2014.
Kate the guys you are mentioning are a long way away from being in lews class with the exception of rooney, rvp, hernandez.
He is top class strikers and I would swap welbeck for him any day.

If all the rumours about Begovich are true I really hope De Gea doesn't leave. He will definitely be one of the best keepers in the word soon and I would hate to see him go : (

Please tell me everyone can spell BEGOVIC. We should all be fine as he is not called Sneijder.

De Gea's shot stopping is already world class, just needs to work on the rest of his game. Has so much potential.

There is surely enough in DdG's play for United so far to suggest that he will be one of the best in the world when he has a couple more years experience. If we do sign Begovic, I would expect it to be Lindegaard who leaves - a good solid keeper but never going to be as good as DdG is likely to become. Begovic and DdG would be an ideal pairing IMO.

He is one of the best now. Not many people can accept that goalkeepers are not gods they are mere mortals, who will make mistakes from time to time. This lad saved us again on Saturday not for the first time either.

BEGOVIC is a 'now' keeper while DDG is the future

Could I just put a wee message on here for my son. He doesn't know it, but, thanks to browser history, I'm fully aware he reads this when I'm not here, despite me telling him he's not allowed to!
Congratulations on getting your transfer test son! Mum and Dad are very proud of you : )
You do know they don't play football at the Grammar School though, so this could have serious repercussions for my. sorry, 'your' dream of playing on the left for United.
But we'll worry about that another time - well done son : )

Congratulations to the young man! May he stay forever young, and forever Red. Godbless.
Mine is 4, and a proper left footed player in his Dad's eyes, so depending on how old yours is, we could have some competition for the position of The New Giggsy!

Ha ha. Same here. My 9 year old boy plays for the top boys team in Perth, Australia and scored 27 goals from 18 league games from left wing last season. He has his eye on the left wing position at United too in a few years time so looks like there's plenty of competition.

I'm 42 and to be honest I've not given up hope of playing on the left for utd myself. Like giggs I've lost a bit of pace and changing direction is a bit more painful but I could do a job

Caolain - I went to Antrim mate, and it was just rugby, even though they had the worst team in the country by a mile - still have!.
There wasn't the same after-school football training with local teams back then, that there is now, so a lot of gifted boys just went to waste.
Ballymena would mean he would be leaving at 7 every morning and getting home about 5 - the wee lad wouldn't have time to do anything else, other than travel, school, homework, dinner, bed.
Antrim is just round the corner, so he'll still be able to get to training during the week.
