Just seen from RTVE Pique telling Del Bosque that Fabregas said he was sold for 33m didn't say who to

Believable8 Unbelievable8

Thinking about it said behind hands in a press conference makes me wonder if Pique was pulling legs, they say he is a huge joker
Although reporter from same TV station says he's gone to Chelsea for 33m Euros which is cheap also said no one else bid

IF this is correct

Agree3 Disagree1

It can only be Chelsea mate.

Agree1 Disagree2

Chelsea are going to be one very scary team on paper next year. they have bolstered like crazy and more to come.

Is it true barca will bid for Marco Reus this summer? If true it'd be a shame . Would love to see him in a United shirt

Believable6 Unbelievable11

It would free up Sanchez, who, IMO, is just as good if not better than Reus.

Agree5 Disagree0

{Ed004's Note - I think Sanchez is a fantastic player rated him every since his days in Italy. However, he isn't quite as good as Reus}

Costa passes chelsea medical, other teams yet again doing deals quickly, where's woody?

Believable14 Unbelievable7

I've been informed that we are NOT going to play our cards too quickly this year. I'll explain as it was given to me.

Each time we bid last time either some other club upped the ante or nicked the player under our nose.

This time we will do deals, then tell the World after the event and maybe en bloc.
That way, other clubs won't say MUFC need a X type player and up the price or shut us out.

I'm not a Woodward fan, but the info I have states we do have older and wiser heads helping to pull the strings. Won't say names, but work it out.

Hopefully this tactic if confirmed will pay off.

Agree3 Disagree2

So were doing things properly like we always used to do in other words?

MU have apparently bid for Di Maria too. This hasn't been confirmed by the editor though so not sure if it's true.

Believable3 Unbelievable34

Would be the perfect move, would give the pace that our attack needs and he is a huge MU fan - may go in our favour if he leaves RM.

If reports are true, MU have offered Cesc generous terms to join, but he wants to move to London (or the missus). With Arsenal not interested it only leaves Chelsea, so he wants that move. Chelsea would prefer other players, but Cesc seems an easy deal. If Oscar leaves which is likely, then Cesc will likely move to Chelsea. Perhaps we should offer a little bit more money to Cesc? Money talks.

Believable8 Unbelievable16

Given some of his previous comments about Mourinho and Chelski I find it hard to believe he would move there under any circumstances.

I still think Arsenal will move for him but if he's willing to compromise his integrity and move to Chelski then I wouldn't want him anyway.

Agree1 Disagree0

Does any of that really matter though R7? He gets to stay in London, he gets a higher salary than what he would get at Arsenal and Arsenal telling him they aren't interested, means he can move to Chelsea without any guilt at all. AW will be the villain to the Arsenal fans, not Cesc. If I am not mistaken, I'm sure they still have an house in London too. Our only hope is that Chelsea get one of their primary targets instead, but I won't be happy watching Pogba in blue either.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think he will join Chelsea, his best position IMO is not in an attacking three behind the striker but just infront of the defense where he can see a pass and has ore time on the ball.

Chelsea seemingly have interest elsewhere. City not likely to go for him since they will soon get Fernando. Arsenal not interested. We are the only genuinely interested party from the premier league. So Unless he moves to Italy, Germany or another Spanish club, I think he will end up with us.

Saying all of that one of the players Chelsea are interested in is Koke who also has Barca chasing after his signature. But I don't think Chelsea will let go of one of their main targets and settle for Fabregas which the case may be if Barca do indeed win the race for his signature. One transfer could spark a series of transfers into life.

Agree0 Disagree2

My understanding which is based purely on what I've been reading in the papers, probably all bullocks is that Mourinho doesn't want Fabregas but the club wants him. Am not sure how much sense that makes but were it to happen then Fabregas risks being another Mata

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't buy that Syd. It's been widely reported that he wanted a move to us last summer, but obviously Barca wanted to paint a different picture.
Perhaps no CL this season will hurt us a bit, but we're still Manchester United ad I genuinely think Fabregas prefers a move to us. I don't thin DDG would have said anything if he wasn't confident Fabregas wanted to come to us.
The ABU media are just doing there usual of making stories where such and such snub us fo whatever. In the last few days I've seen both "he wants to live in London again" and "Barca don't want to sell to Chelsea specifically" from the same sites so it really reaks of the anyone but United sentiment that's so common these days.
My bigger worry is that LVG doesn't want him or Kroos.

Agree0 Disagree0

Prodigal, MU will want Cesc or Kroos. It's whether we can get them.

Agree0 Disagree1

According to a paper, Fabregas had a medical with Chelsea last week and was flown in by private jet, Chelsea and Barce are discussing a fee which is yet to be agreed.

Some good news I think. Atletico have signed Siqueira as a replacement for Filipe who will more than likely sign for Chelsea very soon. That inevitably leaves Shaw for us.

Believable21 Unbelievable12

Would be good news yes, I'm hoping Ed Woodward surprises us and has deals in place they just waiting until LVG is in place or until July 1st to announce!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hernandez may hold the key here as well, if the fee can't be agreed then he will be used I think.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Southampton are waiting to appoint a new manager before ratifying the deal.

Agree1 Disagree0

I personally think the deals done, but not being announced until after the World Cup for obvious reasons

Agree1 Disagree0

I think MU are still haggling over the price. Shaw will be sold regardless of who the manager is as long as Southampton's valuation is met. So I think the new manager is irrelevant here. MU could sign him today if they paid the piper.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the deal is done but because we are a listed company and deal we need to make the most of PR wise, we will wait until we have everyone back home and press focussing on the Prem rather than WC.

Hey eds/everyone
Just a couple of questions if any of the eds are about and free to answer, depay and konoplyanka both strongly linked with united.i think it's pretty clear that van gaal clearly wants to add pace and energy to the team in cm and the wings.im just wondering is it a case of depay OR konoplyanka or could it be both he wants?or us konoplyanka a fall back option if he can't sign depay or vice versa?have united any interest or hope in getting koke?thanks guys

Believable15 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in both but Depay would still likely be a fringe player at OT for a year or so. You can discount Koke.}

Must agree with the ed here, Depay would be a bit part player and Konoplyanka would be a regular starter along with Januzaj.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice to see you reply Ed 2 even though it is on the rumour page not the banter. But nice see nearly back!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Don't expect too much.}
