Does anyone know what the story with Juan Manuel Iturbe is? Is there a deal to bring him to United in the future?

Do not want cahill, he is decent, but not good enough for us

Agree0 Disagree0

Cavani no got enough fwds already javi garcia yes as cover cahill no good player but we have vidic rio evans smalling and jones he wouldnt play tho i thiink hes a great player briggs no barkley yes

Agree0 Disagree0

Barkley - No stop trying steal every talented player Everton produce
First Rooney, then ye tryed to get Rodwell now ye want Barkley, produce your own talent >.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the poster above - what makes you think Barkley would want to stay at everton when he would win a lot more and earn a hell of a lot more at united? Theres no loyalty in footballers anymore so do yourself a favour and dont plead your allegiance to someone who is just waiting for the first opportunity to move to a more successful club, its harsh but true!

Haven't Everton just pinched a kid from Bradford's academy? Literally today? Sadly it's about the food chain and where you are higher than Bradford, we are higher than you.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Red + Sydney i kind of meant thet as a joke but it is kind of annoying that whenever Everton produce a great player Man Utd are linked with him the first transfer window after he emerges.
I actually support Man Utd aswell I just like to see Everton do well because their the first team I ever saw play and they got me interested in soccer.

Agree0 Disagree0

United has never submitted a bid for Rodwell any interest has been purely speculative.

Well maybe its Everton you should be supporting then no? :-)

'Red Knight'

We were tracking Rodwell from the age of 16. SAF has had several chats with the player over the years and we very nearly signed him in January. Interest in Rodwell has been very real, although it seems United chose not to go back in for him this summer. Everton even offered him to us for £15m. Ed001 can vouch for most of what I have said, the rest I heard from a Scouse friend of mine.

Sydney! {Ed001's Note - he has also been to visit Fergie at his home on a number of occasions. The interest is definite.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed001 - Rodwell's recent good form will only make SAF more aware. Do you think we will go back in for him or do you think Barkley is now in SAF's sights? Also do you think some of the lads who persecuted us for identifying Rodwell's massive potential could soon eat their words?

Sydney! {Ed001's Note - I still expect Rodwell to join, he is just being given the chance to play regularly or Fergie would have snapped him up. Better to leave him where he is right now. But I expect him to join, probably next summer, when he is needed by United. Barkley will be left to carry on his development there as well I feel, until United need him, then he will be signed. Right now though neither are desperately needed, probably not ready either.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed001 - Who do you believe will be targeted next by united for the Sneijder role? The position is still vacant and needs filling, can you see us having another go at Sneijder or do you think we will go for someone else?

Sydney! {Ed001's Note - a lot depends on Sneijder and what he wants to do, Fergie doesn't take no for an answer easily. If things are difficult at Inter come January, I would expect him to move on to Manchester, I really don't think City will go back for him though. If Sneijder decides to stay where he is, then I think you will see someone different, though I wouldn't like to say who.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed001 - We all know Javi Martinez was off limits last summer, but do you think he could make a move next summer? Instead of United spending a fortune on a 28 year old Sneijder, couldn't we offer £30m for Martinez and let him join up with his good pal DDG? Could you imagine Martinez, Pogba & Cleverley as a midfield three?

Sydney! {Ed001's Note - I do think Martinez would be very high up on the list of possibles, along with Moussa Sissoko.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed001 - Ed002 mentioned Moussa earlier, do you two know something we don't? Have United made any efforts to speak to his reps?

Sydney! {Ed001's Note - he is very much in demand, a number of English Premier League sides have been in contact with him. I was very surprised he didn't move in the summer.}

Glad to hear the rumours about Javi Garcia, he was fantastic against us. Will be interesting to see how he performs at Old Trafford. Another player i could see come in and take over from Park is Kagawa, financially a sensible move and next summer he will have only 1 year left on his contract.

Wouldn't have to splash out on those two, that would mean more money for a striker such as Cavani or Higuain. Cavani would be my pick, Napoli won't insist on 100 million, thats rediculous. And fergie has praised him greatly in the past.

Ed002 - Who do you believe United will target next for the central midfield position after missing out on Sneijder? Also with United looking to float the club on the market in January, do you think we will go for the midfield target then whilst flush with cash? With the Glazers unlikely to pay off all of our debt, wouldn't spending £25m-£30m on a midfielder be an attempt to sweeten up the fans a little? It's not as though we are not crying out for a central midfielder either is it Ed?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Clubs rarely plan to spend in January and I don't imagine the discussion "let's spend £30M to appease the fans" has taken place just yet. Sneijder could be returned for if the club decide to move for a midfield player. Someone will get a great player in Moussa Sissoko of Toulouse soon. Kagawa will be available - but probably not to the summer. James McCarthy, Matt Jarvis, Rodwell - who knows? Maybe they will spend the money elsewhere and seek to get Gary Cahill from the clutches of Chelsea?}

Believable5 Unbelievable16

Ed002 - Good morning mate, thanks for the reply. I just thought I'd get your take on our midfield. In August I was told that Kagawa will be available as soon as they are out of the CL. That could be January due to Dortmund's last two results in Europe. Can you see Sneijder finally dropping his demands? I am not so sure, but if we wanted him a couple of months ago, then I guess we could still want him now, although he is likely to be cup-tied so that will certainly prevent a move.

What is the story with Moussa, have United even looked at him Ed? Have we been making any recent noises regarding Cahill? Surely Rodwell would be a better option due to the fact that he is a midfielder/CB?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - There is nothing more than rumour and speculation right now. Kagawa may be available in January but there will be interest from elsewhere. I don't know what Sneijder's expectations are financially but I do understand that one of the concerns considered in Palm Springs was living in Manchester. Players are generally not purchased because they can play in a variety of positions - the are seen by the maangement team as being capable to fulfil a particular role. Ferdinand will need replacing.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 - Do you believe this is Ferdinand's final season Ed? I guess you are thinking United could target Cahill as back-up to Jones or Smalling whoever will play next to Vidic? Would Cahill be happy with such an arrangement? Then again I guess it will be similar at Chelsea being back-up to Terry & Luiz?

In regards to Sneijder, do you think the Manchester problem was why he asked for a private jet?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - I think there is a chance it is his final year at Manchester United, it would be tough seeing them offering him a new deal unless his fitness improves dramatically. Clubs need four reliable CBs typically - I somehow doubt that Ferdinand sees himself as a back up to Smalling at the moment. I don't know anything of Sneijder and a "private jet" - is this just another ugly rumour.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 - The private jet thing could be just an ugly rumour. Harry Redknapp is a massive fan of Ferdinand and if Ferdinand can play 30 games a season, then that is 30 good games. Would he make a good makeweight in a deal for Modric if we did go in for little Luka? With Parker in the team now, I think Mods is wasted on the left and we all know Harry was in favour of selling the little Croat.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Ferdinand's value to Spurs would be at zero or near zero cost for a 32 or so year old. I don't know that United have any interest in Modric so it seems purely academic.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Barry bannan at villa, i think is looking an outstanding player...as good as mccarthy

Agree0 Disagree0

On Ferdinand - If he isn't offered a new deal I believe he will call it a day playing the beautiful game.... Where does he go after UTD? There's only a handful of teams in the world in the same mould as us and I don't think he would like a step down so why not finish at the top.... HERBIE {Ed002's Note - How about West Ham for a year. But as you say, he may draw a line underneath it. He has outside interests and maybe he will push ahead with those.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Good call ed, yea West Ham would probably appeal to him, he still loves the club that gave him his chance.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

If the rumours are correct for Rio building this new house with beaver viewing platforms is true!That would put him between Bristol and Reading!Could he join David James at Bristol?He's be over 2 hours from West Ham for a daily commute?I think he'd probably go into his business and get them going.
