I hear Moyes wants to buy Herrera and Coentroe permantly in January

Believable42 Unbelievable39

If we didn't pay the buy-out this summer I highly doubt we will in January

Agree5 Disagree2

Perhaps not ejw after the balls up the equaliser made maybe he will just have to suck it up

Another rumour going about 7 players Moyes could be interested in likely just nonsense for January, oh and no not buying them all before someone pulls me up on it

Agree0 Disagree0

There is something wrong at the moment. Ozil becomes available and we don't bid, but, we bid for players we know we won't get ( specialy at prices we bid) big hair has to take a pay cut, can't atract any1, fergie, gill and rooney all want to leave at same time. What will it take for us to stand up. Talk of selling old trafford get your green & yellow colours on.

Agree4 Disagree3

Ozil wasn't needed that's why he doesn't want to play on the wings and we have enough trouble getting kagawa on the field in his proper position, fellaini will add a lot to the team just wait and see.

Agree2 Disagree3

Ejw93 Ozil not needed ROFL he scores goals, creates goals makes chances keeps possesion of the ball, one of the best midfielders in the world and we don't need him?

Agree4 Disagree3

Going back to the subject of Herrera, it will give us more time to assess the player and see how he progresses this season. By January they might decide that he is worth the price. For the amount of money involved in buying this player they need to be absolutely sure he is worth it.

Agree2 Disagree0

IanO, we don't need Ozil for £42m! If we struggle to go beyond £30m for Fabregas a player who IMO was the perfect man to fill Scholes's boots then I doubt we'd go an extra £10m to buy a player that we already have a potential world class player to play in the same position.

Fellaini is a lot better than the doubters give him credit for. Whenever any team played Everton the danger man was always him which says a lot really.

Agree2 Disagree2

I'd be surprised if he Herrera wanted to come to us after how we treated him

Agree2 Disagree2

Was in papers/online that they will only deal with us if we don't mess about this time so we have got to.go in with 36 mil for.buy out, from his statent yesterday I would say he would come to us he sayin all right words like callin us the bigger club, one best clubs in world, being flatered to be linked with us and so on

Agree1 Disagree1

IanO, why would we sign ozil for 42m when we have kagawa AND rooney who play in the same position? Yes he creates and scores goals, but so do rooney and kagawa given the opportunity in their correct positions. We needed a CM and that's what we got, a world class CM who need I remind you destroyed us single handedly last season

Agree1 Disagree1

Ejw93 wig did kill us last season, but world class don't ger carried away don't get me wrong in prem.he will do a good job and be hard to play but he not world class, he will.need to change his game for champs league or he will just give away free kick after free kick

Agree3 Disagree0

Totally agree ejw. But you just try and make the FM gang understand that. They've probably looked up his goal and assist record, heard he's "a midfielder" and now think he's exactly what we need. LOL.

Agree0 Disagree1

Ozwald you're talkin rubbish mate, Ozil at £42 mill is a bargain, he would of run the show here.Plus we could of sold Rooney who clearly does not want to be here to offset the costs.Also don't expect too much from Fellaini if he plays DM.He reckons it's his best position but every Everton fan will tell you he is much more effective off the front man.Don't get me wrong he will do a good job in front of the back four but won't be a world beater there.

Agree1 Disagree1

Supposedly we were offered Ozil for 33m earlier in transfer window plainly didn't need him

Agree0 Disagree2

No doubting Ozil is top quality but if we signed him instead of Fellaini we'd still be short in our weakest area as Ozil plays from out wide or "in the hole". Funnily enough Arsenal have plenty of decent players in Ozil's position but have had no steel in the middle of the park since Vieria and a lack of backbone has been their downfall more so than a lack of creativity. The most sensible Arsenal fan I know really wanted Fellaini at Arsenal (not spoke to him since they signed Ozil).

No januzaj in champs league squad. But includes thorpe, cole, lingard.
What the hell is moyes doing? That's a great way to encourage him to sign a 5yr deal. Pogba all over again. {Ed044's Note - Another Ed has said that Adnan Januzaj will likely be going on loan.}

Believable19 Unbelievable4

ED do you mean in January?
If yes then I think clubs have to name CL squad again in January so we could have named him in the squad now and removed him in January when he leaves for loan. {Ed044's Note - I think he means a loan soon and he will be on the B List regardless.}

Agree1 Disagree1

Powell is missing obviously because he's already on loan and like Ed said Adnan is soon to go out, most likely to a Championship club. I think Championship clubs or lower have another small window where they can get players in on loan, not 100% sure though.

Agree6 Disagree0

He needs a loan, but only when he has signed that five year deal.

Agree0 Disagree1

Do you know which club Januzaj would be loaned to Ed? A PL club hopefully? Also, doesn't that mean he'll miss out on home grown status if he goes on loan? {Ed044's Note - He can't be loaned to a PL club.}

Agree0 Disagree0

You think a championship loan is what he needs? I no it has been said he has everythjng to be top player but is bit light weight, can only see this as loan him out to get kicked about a bit?

Agree3 Disagree0

Sydney has he not signed that 5 year contract yet?

Agree1 Disagree0

It's because there is a youth champions league and clubs can only register players under 19! So he will be getting a better European experience playing in that and more playing time

Agree0 Disagree0

He hasn't mate. Not yet.

Agree1 Disagree1

Isn't it because of his age as some people are saying. He doesn't have to be listed.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is in the b squad becsude of his age and how long he's been at united he can be calked into play in any cl game as long as united give either 24 or 48 hours notice prior to kick off should we need him

Agree1 Disagree0

As somebody already stated if you are under 21 and have been trained by the club in question for 3 years or more then you do not have to be registered, everybody else you named who did get named was probably to fulfil our homegrown duties I think its at least 8 players trained in England before 21 and at least 4 have to have been trained by the club before the reached 21

Agree0 Disagree1

Regarding Januzaj, reports claim Blackburn could be the club for his loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

The journo that wrote the Januzaj to Blackburn story spews more crap than Britney Spears on a Hen night. Saying that he'll probably get this one correct now lol.

Ed044, I missed your ( or another Ed's ) reply about why we weren't able to bring Herrera in and I've used the notorious search button but didn't find it ( the reply, not the button )

According to Bleacher Report, we seemed to think the buy out clause was too high while the player was interested in the move and was willing to take a pay cut. Then comes the 3 imposters who are supposed to be lawyers working in a firm which has handled some of the selling club's business. Apparently they arrived in Athletic's offices pretending to be sent by manchester united. The law firm that employed them has yet to release a statement over the details which are expected to be made public soon.

But it doesn't seem too reliable and some inside information would be much apprecitated {Ed044's Note - This is from another Editor but I would trust it to be correct: Putting aside all of this flak and interference related to any "imposters" at the Spanish FA, the efforts made by Manchester United to purchase Ander Herrera were over before Ballague implied that these "imposters" extirpated the transaction. The simple truth is that once the price being asked and the costs to be eventually paid were clear to the club, they could see it was well beyond the value the club placed on the player. At that point the club stepped back. So it was the cost and not the distraction of any "imposters" that scuppered the deal.}

Believable14 Unbelievable6

Mick, it's a simple case of MU not valuing the player at £30.5m, so not paying it. Athletic did not want to negotiate at all. It was £30.5m or nothing. It's like Chelsea not agreeing to pay Cavani's asking price or City not agreeing to pay Hazard's asking price. The only difference is we really needed a central midfielder of his caliber. I think we should have paid the amount, but on another note would him being MU's biggest ever signing put him under too much pressure at the club? No excuse, but it may have done.

Agree1 Disagree3

I get what you're saying Sydney! I'm sure United will now monitor him from now till Jan, and potentially come back in for him. It was all a bit quick and maybe that's why they didn't pay the clause because they felt they hadn't scouted him enough etc. however with a bit more time, maybe they will then feel he is worth the buy out clause. I was a bit gutted we missed out on him, but hopefully we go and get him in Jan.

Agree1 Disagree2

I see Herrera has said United never once said they would meet the buy out clause the 3 "Imposters" were 3 Spanish sport lawyers that do this type of thing for a living, they were sent by United with no mandate to meet the buy out only haggle some more.

So in conclusion "The Equaliser" is an clown

Agree2 Disagree0

@Sydney,
Do you think next season could be quite a clear out at MU? Its a good bet that Evra, Rio and Giggs won't be playing for MUFC next season. And if there is no improvement from Nani, Valencia, Young, Ando, Lindegaard and Cleaverly I think 3-4 out of those could be on the move. So we are possibly looking at 6-7 departures from our first team squad next season.

Agree2 Disagree1

Elvis, MU value him at €30m, Bilbao wanted the full €36m and would not enter negotiations. MU will not pay €36m in January if they didn't pay it this summer. Unless Bilbao lower the price he will stay a Bilbao player. Bilbao will not lower the price and MU will not pay it. I see this being the end of Herrera to MU.

Agree2 Disagree2

PR, there was no serious interest in our players this summer. There were a handful of players that were for sale this summer or shall we say available at a price, but no interest. I think MU value them too highly personally. I do not see Cleverley leaving MU anytime soon. We have a shortage of midfielders and he is a very good squad player.

Agree1 Disagree2

What people.are saying is true we don't want to pay.what they asking, but reading between lines in what his personal statement said he never once said he dint not want to move and said that was flattered tha one of biggest clibs in world should want him I see it as he might want the move but not want to rock the boat, so only way I can see us.getting him.is if.he hands in a transfer in jan help push a deal thought, much like the wig did with ecerton

Agree2 Disagree0

Sometimes I think everyone is so set against Cleverley, and it drives me nuts reading sooo many people saying he's not good enough, glad to see I'm not the only one who sees his value as a squad member.

He defends reasonably, and is pretty good at keeping possesion and controling the tempo of the game. What he doesn't do all that well is open up tough defences, which is unfortunately what we need, as mone of our central midfielders do.

As for Herrera, I really hope we do go back for him, as I don't understand not paying about £30m for the exact kind of player we need,, then paying only a few million less for a player who doesn't offer the penetration and flair we need.

Unfortunately,, I suspect Barca may resume their interest and we've missed our chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed, I do hope we go for him in January. If we need a player, we should be in for him. 36 million is not absurd for a young potentially world class midfielder that Barca viewed as good enough to replace Fabregas
