Possible INS ~ Aly Cissoko ( Lyon) .......,Nathaniel Clyne (nt sure..,Palace ).........,Kevin Stratoom(nt sure)..........,Iker Munain (Bilbao)........Shinji Kagawa(B.Dortmund)......,Klas Jan Hunterlaar (Schalke 04) OUTS ~ Berbatov......,Park.....,Owen.....,Ferdinand(reported to be considering offer from Chinese club).....,Macheda.......... What do you think guys?

Believable7 Unbelievable31

I will still say this, we have every chance of signing Martinez as every other club. Personally he would be my choice Number 1 and if not Erickson!
In terms of the other part, N. Clyne seems likely. Ferguson is not blind he knows regardless of how influencial Evra is in the dressing room. He needs competition! And if we have first refusal on Dodo then perfect, if not we got to play more Fryer in next year.
I would really like a striker, Ideally Higuan, u can see he is bit behind Benzema in pecking order. Good with ball and excellent finisher. Assist from left and right, if we cant get big names like Hazard or Bale then Munian seem decent. Nani need to be more consistent!
De Gea
Rafael Vidic Evans Evra
Martinez
Carrick Rooney

Valencia Nani
Higuan

Lindegard
Clyne Jones Smalling Dodo

Erickson Pogba/Cleverly
Munian Young
Welbeck Hernandez

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure who stratoom is....

Daniel

Agree0 Disagree0

Closest I can think is strootman?

Agree0 Disagree0

Eriksen #1 for me

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont want huntelaar anywhere near my team.

Agree0 Disagree0

What about Martinez? He would be my number one choice.....

Agree0 Disagree0

In a perfect world we would get javi martinez, higuan and hazard but unfortunately this is not football manager so it is more likely we will sign Clyne, Gaitan/ Rodriguez and if berba, owen and macheda all leave then maybe a young striker but as i said b4 xmas i believe owen will stay another year (doesn't complain, invaluable experience to share with welbs & chica and can talk horsies with SAF lol )
this would however still not address our biggest weakness (our midfield) so i hope we get a cm/acm in too maybe eriksen or perhaps sessegnon as a cheaper option

surprise news came from carrington that we have tried to sign john guidetti from city. They wil not nurture young talents in search of immidiate title charge.. they have became desperate. guidetti want first team action. and he has personally quoted the admiration how smallings, jones, chicha, rafa, fabio ,welback, cleverly all given proper game time to prove there worth. berba leaving and macheda has not bn upto the mark so this guy would definatly attracting attention of united scouts.. however not sure abt the current status.. may be any ed can find something... can u ed??
rodio17.. thanx in advance. {Ed002's Note - Manchester United have not tried to buy Guidetti. Perhaps someone has been teasing you on Twitter.}

Believable4 Unbelievable15

Doubt they would sell to us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if the player is unsettled and wants a move.. Then City won't have a say and will more than likely have to sell! Players and their agents hold the power these days!

Ozwald

The bloke has single handedly lead feyenoords title charge this year

This summer is the last year that we have first refusal on Dodo who is coming along very nicely. In case you didn't know he is a young left back. Now, i think that we are going to go in for him as i don't see SAF having any intention of selling our Captain Evra.

Do you really see him getting rid of our captain who is a very influential player in the dressing room.

I think what Evra needs is competition, having Fabio, Dodo and Evra all competing with eachother would improve them all.

Believable23 Unbelievable4

I have said that in my opinion theres no chance of Evra leaving in the foreseeable future

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

So we get to spend next season watching about 60% of the goals we concede all coming from passes/ crosses made by opponents in the area of responsibility of the left back.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Not leaving but being dropped from the Starting XI, just like Rio he'll probably play half the time and still have the infleunce in the dressing room and valuable experience when it's needed. Of course we won't just sell him.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought Dodo was a CB? {Ed002's Note - I think you are confusing him with Dede.}

Agree0 Disagree0

No ED,dodo is a young cenyre back cum fullback we have a clause on until he turns 21 pal.
Ste73 {Ed002's Note - I know who Dodo is - and he is a left back and you may have a surprise coming about this "clause".}

Agree0 Disagree0

If we were to get dodo for the left and clyne for the right, where does that leave the twins in terms of pecking order?
there was a story in (i think) the sun saying barca were after the twins, had dismissed it as well it was in the papers lol but could there be some truth in it?
we have plenty who can play rb and already have fryers and evra on left so bringing in dodo (if indeed we are) would mean that either fryers or fabio would prob want to leave, and the spanish game is not as rough so they would be less likely to get injured there.
i couldn't see the twins wanting to be separated and rafael would be an ideal replacement for dani alves
ed, could we be selling them or am i just addings 2 and 2 and getting 5?

dags {Ed001's Note - I did say a while ago their injury record has seen them be viewed as surplus as soon as replacements were found. It is the sole reason for it, I am told it was felt their bodies were simply not up to the physical demands of the Prem.}

Interesting weekend ahead for us. Hopefully we beat QPR and pile the pressure on City. With their recent antics off/on the pitch it reminds me off Rafa.... He's cracking up, he's cracking up, Mancini cracking up.

Fergie may be old but he knows how to unsettle sides with ease.

Looking at the QPR game, i hope we play an attacking formation as QPR play good football and will perhaps offer us a tougher game than Blackburn.

Hopefully we will win comfortably and Pogba will get some game time but you begin to wonder whether or not that Pogba is just milking us, making us wait while he gets some game time and puts himself in the shop window.

From what the Eds have said when asked about Pogba it would appear he's reluctant to sign for us.

Hopefully the kid will see sense sooner rather than later.

Mad Hatter

Believable23 Unbelievable0

Tbh I've been thinking the same re: Pogba

He has had plenty of time now, he is clearly still assessing his options at the very least

I REALLY hope he stays as he has immense talent but I have thought on occasion that he may have already made his mind up to go...but is keeping that to himself in order to get game time

Finger's crossed I'm wrong

Watched both Jese (RM) and Jamie Rodriguez (Porto) a few times and i think both would be perfect for us. Both are like Ronaldo and would give us that game winner in one moment tag. Jamie Rodriguez would be the best buy we can have, he'd be a great buy, left footed, can play left, in the hole or up top.

Please sign him and Strootman!

Believable28 Unbelievable2

I haven't seen James Rodriguez play but the guy is Porto current goalscorer with 12 goals ahead of Hulk (9), he's 3rd goalscorer in the league and also 3rd in assists with 7.

rumours are that we are interested Bilbao forward DeMarcos and that we have had an agreement with Benifica for Gaitan but yet to be known....Edd hwfar true is this? {Ed002's Note - I am aware of speculation about De Marcos but nothing else. There is certainly no agreement for Gaitan.}

Believable1 Unbelievable15

Not a big fan of Gaitan, he wastes his talent by throwing himself on the floor crying for a foul if anyone even breathes within 10 yards of him. Looks more suited to Barcelona!!

I wonder which Bilbao player will next be touted for a move here, Herrera maybe? Iraola? The media have no imagination. We are going to buy the whole team at this rate!

RedDevil19

Believable14 Unbelievable3

NO RedDevil19... just 3 if you read CaughtOffside....

Iker Muniain, Javi Martinez & Oscar de Marcos for £70m

Can not wait lol........... surprised they did not add Fernando Llorente to that list he looked pretty good...

can not wait until tomorrow to see who else we will get.. our squad next season will be mad at this rate...

Hey guys

heard in the daily rabble of tabloid news that Wolves are looking to Appoint the legend that is 20LE

Mr Ole Gunnar Solkjear!

This would be an awesome move if they give him a couple of seasons. Would love to see how he would cope with managing in the english game.

If he did well could be a our future manager.

Monk

Believable17 Unbelievable9

How many times have we seen young managers having their career set back by taking on clubs this big too soon. I wish him all the best if it transpires but think he would be better off learning his trade for another few seasons where he is. Wolves is a nightmare of a job - a club and fans with dillusions of where they should be.

Irish Red

Agree0 Disagree0

No it wouldn't be a good move for him!
I want him to end up as our manger in the end but he shouldn't go to wolves because they need to much help and it will wreck all the good work he is doing.
Walrus

Agree0 Disagree0

Ryan Giggs will be our future manager.. Or very likely to be anyway, coming from the mouth of Sir Alex himself!

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Ryan giggs will never be the manchester united manager

cant see him taking to the management side of things at all

Robbo

Agree0 Disagree0

Well 'Robbo' you don't know Ryan Giggs that well do ya? Someone who does however is Paul Scholes and this is what he has to say about it..

The notion of Giggs succeeding Ferguson has been discussed among the senior players at Old Trafford, as made clear by an interview Paul Scholes gave two weeks ago in which he said that he could envisage his team-mate being given the job. "People have talked about Mourinho," Scholes said. "It can change quickly – it's about who is successful at the time. Whether they are British or foreign, you just want the best man for the job. I could see Ryan Giggs becoming manager."

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

"I COULD see Ryan Giggs becoming manager"

Sorry Ozwald but that is far from conclusive isnt it? he just said that there is more than a 0% chance Giggs will become manager

i.e. uses the term could, not will or even should

Can't see it myself but then that's just my opinion

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

Why so?! He's played over 900 games for us and counting, he knows more than Anyone else the way in which united operate! He would have seen it change over the years and has picked up more experience than imaginable. SAF will have a big say in who takes over after him and he's already said he'd like Giggsy to take the reins. A legend such as Giggs would only inspire all the players at the club as he'll have such a strong passion for the club himself. Will any other manager that just comes in have that? Definitely not. MUFC has had 2 managers in the last 50 years.. I don't think they'd be willing to bring in anyone else who isn't connected in some way. SAF will still operate as an advisor/ambassador after he steps down therefore will be around to guide Ryan. Don't think it'd be as smooth transition with anyone else coming in!

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to disagree with you Ozwald. Just because Giggs has a lot of playing experience doesn't mean he will be a good manager. If this is the main requirement for our new manager why couldn't it be Scholes? Gary Neville?
And SAF 'guiding' the person who replaces him will be the worst thing that could happen. SAF will have to make a complete break from team matters when he retires as manager.
BTW, Ole to Wolves is a bad idea.

J Bones.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't get the lack of faith in Ole.

He did an amzing job with our youth and then within his first year of Senior management takes a midtable team to the title? He didn't sign a whoile new team he jsut got them playing better.

Yes wolves have visions of granduer but so does every club.

If Wolves (when morelike) next season the incoming manager will get time to rebuild/rediscover a winning team.

He'll gain championship experience (more physical than prem) and if he wins promotion he'll get a crack at the prem.

He was always taking notes during games when he played for us (probabley explains why he was such an impact sub). From what interviews with our team have shown is that Ole was always destined to be a manager.

You have to take chances in life and if he pulls it off at wolves then he'll most certainly be touted as the next OT manger in the media. If he does not then it's still experience and he can move to another league and continue his management experince before coming back for another shot. He is young after all.

Monk

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that if 20le is made manager giggs could be made his no.2 but if another is made manager eg david moyes (that is just an example) then 20le could be his no.2 with giggs coaching the youth prob with scholes
given a general coaching role
I personally can't see SAF just walking away from the club, I think he will either be given an club ambassador role or made like a director of football or such position

United Still interested in signing Lucas Moura. Brazillian 19 years old. Already has 10 caps. What you guys think? Would he evn make it in the EPL or would he be another Robinho?

SAF should go for him if only the price is right. these brazilians are always a gamble

Heres a differant name for you lot who I haven't seen mentioned yet Ivica Olic. He's on a free in the summer, he could offer that quality cover up front while also not hindering the likes of Welbeck and Hernandez. At 32 he still has life in the old legs yet and could offer vital experiance of playing in europe and in big games. With us looking like we might me abit short up top with the departures of Berbatov Owen and Macheda, Olic would be a welcome addition and for free meaning we could focus our budget on the areas that need the most attention. Wat do you guys think?

Shappy

Believable14 Unbelievable30

Could be a 'replacement' for owen I guess

Yellowcar

Agree0 Disagree0

You saying this because of his goals against Marseille by any chance? lol

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Great player in his day but at 32 he's not what we need....
HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

I won't lie oz mate it was his goals that reminded me of his presence, but that doesn't make him any less of a good option. Were not talking about a twenty year old flash in the pan, he's 32 and a proven quality player over many years.

Shappy

Agree0 Disagree0

No way good enough for United.

Agree0 Disagree0

Motd fever is rife.

Agree0 Disagree0

Striker is an area that needs attention

One injury to Rooney and we would be in trouble this or next season

A 32 year old is not the answer

Red Man

Agree0 Disagree0

No offence but u must be 1 of the worst people for motd fever as soon as someone has 1 good game u think we should sign them the only reason olic played is because bayern had a 2 goal cushion no chance he is good enough for us

calvin

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not saying sign him as a first choice option but if he's good enough to be back up at Bayern then he's good enough as back up for us. I feel we should be playing Rooney up top with three behind him in a 4231 formation in which case then we only need experianced cover as we have Welbeck and Hernandez who are learning their trade and we don't wanna restrict them too much. If we signed Olic on a free then it would increase.our chances making a.big signing in midfield, if we spend 20m on a striker then we won't have much money to spend on our midfield which needs spending on more than our front line.
And Calvin I don't know where you get this idea that i'm one of.the ones who get motd fever, look back through my posts and you'll see that I tend to mention players who haven't been mentioned before players like Strootman( six months ago), Yarmolenko, Piris, Jose Angel and Yacob.

Shappy

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive always liked Olic, very quick intelligent and under rated player. However at 32 I dont really see this player as a viable option, as I didnt Owen either. Hist best days are behind him , still a good player mind but I really would be shocked to see a move for him, mind you said the same thing about Owen so you never know
Invisible Stuey

Agree0 Disagree0

I have been reading this site for over a year now and i have to admit i do value ur posts and appreciate the views u have on players and maybe i went a bit far with the motd fever but sometimes when some1 does have a gd game u do tend to mention them straight away and to be honest with u i would rather keep owen than get olic he might be back up for bayern but hasnt he wanted to leave for over a year now but has had serious injuries?

Calvin

Agree0 Disagree0

Would provide good backup IMO. Has the experience required in Europe and in a physical league, the Bundesliga. Could do a lot worse than sign him for free. Berba looks to be on the move and Owen is rarely fit. Apart from that we have Rooney, Welbeck, Hernandez. Macheda isn't good enough. I don't see many other striking options. Anyone who says "a 32 year old isn't what we need", what did you all think about Henrik Larsson? Experience is vital to compliment our rather young squad.

Jules

Agree0 Disagree0

I just think an older player who can cover is a better option then either an untested youngster or and over priced "top player" we will have a limited budget in the summer and i feel we need to spend most of it on midfield then a left back and a striker is third on my list of priorities so why not get a proven quality player with loads of experiance and has at least two more seasons in him by which time the likes of Welbeck and Hernandez will be fullfilling their potential and Will Keane will be in and around the first team. Of course i'd like to see someone like Benzema or Cavani come in but if they did then I feel that the midfield won't be improved and to be honest we have a world class striker in Rooney yet no world class midfielder so surely the proliority has to be signing a midfielder first. I think we will have to choose between either a cheap striker and a world class midfielder or a world class striker and a cheap midfielder. Would you rather have Martinez and Olic or Yacob and Benzema for example? Someone mentioned Del Piero the other day who I feel maybe abit too old but hey Giggs and Scholes are doing a great job at the age 38 and Larsson was a good player for us at 36 so why can't Olic do a job for us at 32? I think alot of people on here believe anyone over 27 is over the hill, if you can get an experianced player for a reasonable price then why can't they be an important squad player?

Shappy

Agree0 Disagree0

Why get rid of a 31 year old Berbatov and a 32 year old Owen to buy a 32 year old Olic?

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Owen is never fit and Berbatov doesn't suit our style and isn't happy sitting on the bench. Olic would cost nothing and we'd get some money from selling Berbatov so we'd be up money wise which we could put towards new signings for midfield and left back.

Shappy

Agree0 Disagree0

Olic is just a step back IMO, clearly we shoul be buying talent upfront rather just someone who can be a good squad player.

Sanshine

Agree0 Disagree0

A lot of people slate Berbatov because he's not quick enough on the ball, Olic is no different.

A good player but if we're hitting someone on the counter attack then he's hardly going to be the quickest up the field.

The Moon.

Agree0 Disagree0

Again this player is not good enough for United,
