Ed002, there is some reports in the newspaper this morning that MU are resigned to losing Pogba this summer, has the penny finally dropped and they will be willing to listen to reasonable offers?

{Ed002's Note - I cannot account for what the newspapers are saying or speculating about I am afraid. I have explained the situation as I know it.}

No worries Ed, thanks for the reply.

At this point he wouldn't be much of a loss. sell him and strenghten the midfield. Another CM (or 2 depending on the matic situation), RW added to bruno and we look a lot stronger in there.

Surely by the summer with 1 year left on his deal plus the option of another, a club will meet uniteds asking price which should be lowered and come to an agreement.

Dsg if we get the money we spent to buy him would be some achievement.

We will have the usual clubs like Real Madrid and Juventus offering us 40 million plus two of there 30 year old plus players that don't even get a game for them anymore who don't want to leave anyway. I just hope that we tell them f**k off and at least get back the 90 million that we paid for him. If the likes of Maddison or Grealish are now valued at 60-80 million pounds, whether you like Pogba or not he is a better player then both of them therefore we should be getting top dollar for him. That's not to mention the amount of money he will generate off the field as well. I just hope United don't get there pants pulled down just because mardy arse Pogba and is agent are crying for the move. I can't wait to see the back of him and that agent.

Simo, Pogba won't sell for more than 70m maximum. He hasn't lived up to expectation, wants out, has spent most of the season "injured" and will have a year left on his contract by the summer.

We might have to consider a player plus cash deal, but it needs to be a player we want. I would take a straight swap with Varane, or maybe Jovic plus some cash from Real Madrid, or cash plus one of Demiral or Bernardeschi from Juventus.

Inter could be a sleeper for Pogba if they have the money. Previous with the manager I think.

Maybe, but I doubt they do. They spent big in January, especially when you consider wages. With Brozovic, Brella, Sensi and Eriksen they have plenty of quality in midfield.

In the summer I can see them looking for a forward to be back up to Lukaku and Martinez or even a replacement for Martinez. While maybe a centre back might be sought with one eye on Godin getting older.

I can see Pogba ending up at PSG. He’d fit in with the superstar status that Neymar and Mbappé have there. He would win titles and have CL football guaranteed every year. The owners will want a CL trophy soon and would probably pay the money.
It would be the perfect solution for all parties.

{Ed047's Note - where he can be a bigger dick than he currently is, if that is in fact humanly possible.

06 Feb 2020 20:16:55
Pretty much yeah.
It seems like Neymar does what he wants there and the owners indulge it.
I can see Pogba being the extra bit of quality they need to win the CL though.

I may be wrong, he never gives his maximum in a game unless it suits him. We keep getting rubbish info he will do his best for United and he is injured again. The lad is really unlucky, hope he doesn't run down his contract and suffer a really bad injury the day before he leaves on a free. He had been too good a servant for that bad luck to happen.

If Mmmbop goes to Real Madrid and Neymar goes to Barca, then can see Pogba going to PSG, as they’ll need the marque signing to replace leavers and they’ll also have the money.

if they offer 30 mill bite there hand off because he is not worth that.

Any chance of a list of the players activly looking to leave at some point?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - This is the same as I have previously provided. The likes of Young (managed to get out); Smalling (move blocked by MU); Marcos Rojo (although not wanted and Fiorentina were very interested, MU blocked the move and he ended up on loan at Estudiantes; Angel Gomes wants out; Paul Pogba wants out and wants to get his career on track again with interest for this summer - else he will run his contract down; Tahith Chong desparately wants out and talking to another side; Jesse Lingard knows that Manchester United see him as potentially being surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and that the current coach is not keen on him - so, not unreasonably. there is an ad hoc agreement with Mino that allows him to look for other options for the player. Right now I am aware there have been approaches to several sides and that a couple might be open to making a formal approach, but there remains a concern that as an English player there is a high risk if he were to move to mainland Europe - so the interest could easily wane. Interest in England I am told is thin on the ground although at least two sides have been approached. I suspect the summer and decisions yet to be agreed at the club will define whether he stays or goes.}

Aside from embarrassing decisions made by non-football professional businessmen, no great loss here.

Chong been given chances and not taken them - looks too light weight for PL

Gomes - must be a reason he hasn’t had more game time. Other youngsters have taken their chances

Rojo - too rash and never United quality

Smalling - decent back up, can understand why he wanted to move

Pogba- please please go, you don’t want to be at United. Please go and start your career elsewhere.

Lingard - maybe needs a fresh start elsewhere, maybe too much going on off football pitch.

Gomez and Chong are dissaponted but that is based on promise not actions. On the whole I have no problem with any of that list leaving.
Creates financial room and space in the 25 to bring in new blood or move up some under 23s.
To be honest it is one of her positives Olly shoukd be praised for his strength to move players on, despite the club wanting to hold on certain circumstances.

{Ed002's Note - It is unrelated to OGS.}

Won't be dissapointed with the above players leaving. The player that really should be shown the door is Phil Jones.

ED02 thank you for the information. Just one thing - who s actually taking decisions? If I m not wrong some time ago you said that Woodward does not make footballing decisions. Earlier on today, when commenting about players being shipped out, you remarked that Ole is not involved in this.
So who s making these decisions?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The club has a number of people who are responsible. Most of the supporters are not bright enough to realise that an accountant (mr Edwards) is not deciding which players to buy and sell.}

05 Feb 2020 20:18:14
Will be a shame to see Lingard go, a combination of off field issues and a coach who doesn't believe in him has probably finished his United career. Will hopefully get back on track where ever he ends up.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2020 22:46:11
But he is a part of the team who negotiate for players?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Who? What do you mean?}

06 Feb 2020 10:42:26
Grim, he needs to take some personal responsibility for his own performance as well. Too easy to blame everything and everyone else, rather than the player himself.

There are many factors involved probably. Every player is different, it's up to the manager how to identify how to get the best out of them.
