I hope not he's a quality player just don't know where he would fit in there with the amount of similar type players they already have!

Agree1 Disagree0

According to ED002 we have never been interested in him and must be our fantastic scouts since we regularly get gems out of Spain.

Shahram

Agree0 Disagree0

That would be the third Chelsea player, after Mata and Hazard, that united should have made a bigger effort to sign. I don't think a creative midfielder/wide man is the priority but he is too good to ignore and would definitely improve the squad.

What is with the Kagawa hating on here.... I thought he was the only player to show any desire tracking back and chasing players down he was coming so short for the ball even though he was supposed to be the most advanced ..... The thing with Kagawa is he has come from Dortmund with fluid attacking football to United where most of our players are static and do not read his clever footballing brain and 1 2's etc...... Please remember he still hasnt played that many games for us and has been out for 2 months give the guy a break.

Believable74 Unbelievable6

I thought some of the problem yesterday with kagawa was that whenever he looked to run into space cleverly or scholes ran into the same space there was far too many little 2 & 3 yard passes that do very little except give your opposition time to get back into formation i still feel our underlying problem is cm as we just have no pace or drive coming from the middle of the park the other thing we are missing is a captain vidic seems quiet since his return as rio/evra/giggs are not skippers we need someone in the keane/robson mould who will drive us on and give players rollickings when needed

Agree0 Disagree0

It wasn't desire to track back it was coz he gave the ball away and loss possession

Dio {Ed004's Note - I don't think we got the supply to Kagawa yesterday.}

Just heard there that Hull have agreed a fee with United for Robbie Brady.
It is understood Hull will pay a fee in excess of £2million for the Republic of Ireland international.

United are clearly trying to raise cash and making space at the club. I would be amazed if we didn't sign one or two players this month.

CM short, yes. We have been that way since Hargreaves injury.
We have carrick, anderson and cleverley.
fletcher is still injured, scholes is old, jones ? maybe he's okay there.
We would do very well with a CM Imo.

Sneijder or Strootman, anyone not cup-tied.

Sneijder is a world class player. He can play as 2 CM especially against lower teams. He can pass it long, Kagawa can't and can play on the wing if needed and put in decent enough crosses.I'd sign him if he drops his unrealistic wage demands.

Also IDK but i feel buttner could be played a game at LW, His crosses were very good in the end. I wish SAF gives him a crack at LW this season. Atleast we'll have someone who can cross apart from giggs

Believable23 Unbelievable3

Fernandino????

Agree0 Disagree0

I am very unconvinced by Buttner. He's a bit of a calamity in defense and going forward if you ask me although he did put in a good few crosses today. I really really hope we go in for Luke Shaw now or in the summer, he will be immense in a few years.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

Sneijder is not a central midfielder. He can't play in a 2 man midfield. They tried that at Inter and it failed miserably.

We do not need him. Would be a huge mistake to go for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

We wouldn't sign Sneijder now regardless of the money involved.

Buttner to be fair was a left winger for Vitesse before moving further back and lets be honest the demands for a full back in the Eredivisie isn't the same as the PL. He'll either learn how to defend and become a sublime full back or he'll be a squad player at best maybe, used on the left wing. We did only pay around 3m for him.

I think the problem with kagawa is the team haven't go on his wavelength his 1-2's are brilliant and he has great vision we need to settle him in a position and hope he plays more with Chicha, Rooney, and RVP! They all have great movement!

Caolán.

Believable31 Unbelievable3

If he and rooney play together they would be special.

Sulei

Agree0 Disagree0

His first touch was really bad tonight and kept giving the ball away, needs time to adjust i think

keyz

Agree2 Disagree0

Think that Kagawa is too lightweight, gets pushed off the ball easily and looks as if he is used to being given more time without a challenge.Hopefully he can adapt given more games.

Agree1 Disagree1

Kagawa ( like most forgien players ) will need a bedding in season. Silva needed one so did mata etc. this year is his year to get used to the perm and the players to get used to him. Next year he will be awsome!
G.N.G

Agree0 Disagree0

He was still great last week when he came on. One bad game...... I think he might hit form even before the start of next season.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

That was his worst appearance for United thus far. I'm a huge fan of his but he didn't have a great game, just needs time to settle and build up an understanding with all the other players. Have no doubts he will be one of our most effective players in a few months time.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

I have yet to make up my mind about Kagawa in the EPL. He was excellent at Dortmund, but has looked poor to reasonable at United so far. Of course a two month lay of, after just a few games, hasn't help at all. Was worried by his lack of pace and poor first touch yesterday.

United to give Nani and De Gea plus 70million pounds to Real madrid for cristiano ronaldo

RedHood

Believable16 Unbelievable74

Not going to happen.

Sydney!

Agree2 Disagree0

Can you imagine the unrest that Cr17 would cause back in the dressing room.
I would rather keep DDG and sell Nani. Plus I do love Tony V even though he's out of form at present.
70 mill could buy alot of players or pay off some more debt.
I do love Ronnie though.
Mac

Agree0 Disagree1

Better to buy a defence who can piak players up, a truly dreadful performance at the back!

Agree0 Disagree0

Aa that would be bad buisness. Never gona happen!! :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah ryt, but, seeing as its stupid season I think Nani and maceda plus 5 million for Messi, just as much chance of happening!, keep taking the tablets!

Charla

Agree0 Disagree0

Think of it CR7, RVP, rooney and valencia playing together that would be the squad

RedHood

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that's a good idea collecting Ronaldo is the only way to avoid defeat in the champs league I don't think RVP would be able to save us versus mardrid with his last minute comebacks ramos and pepe are not some premier league lame defenders like collins or tomkins or the 18 year old potts we need ronaldo back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Redhood, I would rather CR7, RVP, Rooney and Kagawa. When Kagawa hits form he will be sensational and plays more fluid football than Valencia.

Download sopcast software - it's free. Then go to the wiziwig site and an hour before the game starts and there will be a list of sites to choose from. there are also flash sites via wiziwig, but they aren't of the highest quality.

Regarding everyone wanting to sell Rooney,

I don't see why peoe want Rooney sold for money + Khedira, all that would happen would be is that we buy Lewandowski and not see the rest of the money. When people think of Man Utd they most probably imagine the stadium, SAF and Rooney, he has become an iconic figure at this club and we as fans should stick behind him through thick and thin.

I'm not saying that SAF will not saying and the whole saga a few years back will still be in SAF's mind but I will be very sad to see him leave as I was when Beckham went.

Overall we need to get behind our players and show them why playing for Manchester United is a privellege that shouldn't be taken for granted but no matter what whilst they are still on our books we will support them.

Realistically though, what striker which we would be capable of signing could do what Rooney does with the hard work, finishing, leadership, respect of peers and world class talent and versatility that he possesses?

AvidDevil

Believable35 Unbelievable5

One day he will be Man United and England captain

Agree1 Disagree0

Is this the same Rooney that turns up overweight at the start of the season, whores around behind his pregnant wifes back, smokes and generally looks pathetic in a wig ? Is it the same Rooney who has no first touch, hasnt the pace to go past a man and generally just looks like a busy fool these days ?
Nah, that Rooney myth was busted about 4 years ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's only some fool that spread the Rooney to Real rumour, don't worry he'll still be at OT for years yet. He is still the joint top assists maker in EPL and has scored 7 goals. not bad as he's only played about 10 or 11 league games.
Mik

Agree2 Disagree0

To the second no name poster - Maybe some of those things are true but you cant deny is was/is/will be a gifted footballer. There's just no way he's got where he is now without hard work and a passion for football so give him some respect or p!ss off!

Just another thought for you, Anderson for example turns up for the new season a bit over weight, we know he likes to drink a bit. Why doesn't he get the same abuse from people like you? Because he's not prolific, Rooney is. I'm confident by the end of his career at United he would have surpassed Sir Bobby's goal scoring record for the club.

Hello lads..
G**l is reporting that coentrao is umsettled nd will move in jan..if its true my gut feeling tells me that chelsea is the one for it.
My question to ed 002 is have we ever interested in him in past? I doubt his defending but for the left wing i hve to admit he is good. Then why united never consider such option?
I think he is decent replacement of giggs at decent age.

Rodio17 {Ed002's Note - Benfica were in discussions with Real Madrid for three weeks leading up to the sale whilst interest in Coentrao was also being shown by Manchester United, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and AC Milan.}

Just read that Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa who plays in the french league and is supposedly an arsenal target would love to join us and drams of wearing the shirt. I have never seen him play and wanted peoples view on him.

Shahram

Since Yanga -Mbiwa plays for my local club, I was able to see him in action quite a few times. Here's a small scouting report.

23 years old and already captain, Mapou is a leader by example. Very disciplined, you will rarely see him out of position or guetting skinned by a player.

Standing at 6 ft 1, his athleticism is his best assest. Extremly fast and strong as an Ox, he shines when the team is playing a high attacking lineup. No forwards will be able to beat him for pace nor for strength. I would say he is the central defender version of Antonio Valencia. He is also a very good passer, calm under pressure, and a great leader. His tackling is alsotop notch and very dependable. He only dives into a tackle when he has to and prefers to win the ball " cleanly ".

But he has his downsides of course. Despite his strength and height, he is rather weak on aerial duels. I would say its his only weakness. But beeing 23 and having a great leap on him, I think this can be something that can be worked on and improved, especially with the likes of Vidic in the team.

As for the transfer side of things, AC Milan was interested in buying him to succeed Nesta ( which shows just how highly he is rated ), Arsenal have also shown an interest but apparently Old Trafford is where his heart is. Which translates into ; " My dream is to slide on my knees towards the corner of the turf of Old Trafford with a manchester united shirt on my back, I play for MU, my favorite club and i just scored a decisive header from a corner"

Mick

Believable29 Unbelievable1

Thanks Mick, Sounds like a real goos player and we should sign him, what would he cost and Eds have we shown an interest in him?

Shahram

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Montpellier are looking for 8-10 million pounds from AC milan who are trying to negotiate a deal. Anything around this mark and he will be a manchester united player before we can even memorise his name.

Ferdinand is reported to be attracting interest from both the United States and Far East, but Ferguson is confident the 34-year-old will not rush into a decision.

"We are not panicking about that, " said Ferguson. "I don't think Rio wants to leave and, as I have said before, he can play on.

"I don't think he has the same issue with his back that he had a couple of years ago. It is manageable now.

"There is no way you would be expecting him to play every four days right through a season anyway.

"Getting rest at the right time definitely helps him and he does a lot of work on his pre-match preparation now, with yoga and a lot of other things to help him sustain his playing time."

if vidic fully recovers from his knee injury and with smalling and jones surly looking for more first team chances and for me evans probably a first pick i dont think we will buy a cb this summer
jred

Believable8 Unbelievable4

I think we can wait til the summer after for a CB if Rio and Vidic stay put. With Rio on around £6m a year in wages and Vidic on around £4.5m and being able to raise perhaps £15m-£20m if Anzhi want him there is always a chance one could be sold and replaced.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree1

05 Jan 2013 11:09:45
i don't think we will either. Its not a priority. The priority is keeping the ones we already have fit. Hopefully vidic is over the worst and can keep going for the next couple of seasons. Add to that mick keane and wooton we probably wont look at a centreback for couple of years. Of course if rio does leave and vidic breaks down again that will change. Mort

Agree0 Disagree0

I think buying a CB would be a waste of money, and Michael Keane could be very good. Wooton is also here for cover. The only CB I would move for is Hummels and Zouma as both are exceptional.

if spuds are selling then they don't rate him so why would he be good enough for us if he's not good enough for them? I see him at villa would be a good signing for them.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jan 2013 10:36:41
oh cmon. Huddlestone? You really think he is United class?
We need players that are better than we have or whats the point in signing them

Agree0 Disagree0

Him and Anderson would look like twins next each other on physios table

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

If United were going to bid for a cheap midfielder, I think Diame at 3.5m would be a far better deal than Huddlestone. There were rumours last season that we were interested in taking Diame from Wigan. Apparently he then had some kind of injury induced weakness. I would prefer Wanyama and/or Gotze, but for a cheap squad player we could do worse then Diame.
