Tyler Blackett will be going on the preseason tour.

Sydney!

Believable9 Unbelievable2

Although he didn't mention Tunnicliffe, is he with the england under 19's?

Shappy

Agree0 Disagree0

Great news he's very talented. Do you know if any other youngsters are going on tour?

Agree0 Disagree0

Tunnicliffe isn't with the U19's. He will go on the tour.

Sydney!

Tyler Blackett wouldnt kick it out of his way.

Manchester United sign Exeter City youngster Sean Goss

Believable13 Unbelievable5

What position is he? {Ed012's Note - Central Midfielder, cost £100k)

Agree0 Disagree0

Never heard of him - any one got some info on him? age?

gav {Ed012's Note - 18 years of age, scored 13 goals or so for their youth team last season}

Agree0 Disagree0

Isnt he 16 ed? Learch {Ed001's Note - I believe he is 16, he was certainly playing for Exeter's U16 side last season.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Terrific young player, and he's actually 16, not 18.

Agree0 Disagree0

No he 16 years old ed

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought he was 16

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Ed012 sounds like a prospect at least. We seem to be bringing in plenty of young CM/CAM options at the moment (between signings Kagawa/Powell/Goss and Petrucci/Cleverly/Tunnicliffe from within), perhaps another indication we will shift to a 4231 type formation over time

Gav

He's 16yrs old.

Lucas Moura to man utd this summer.

Believable16 Unbelievable13

Where did u hear this from. There has only been roumors about it Wat makes you so sure.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hearing alot of news about this transfer fingers crossed boys brazils finest

Agree0 Disagree0

There is definite evidence of officials traveling to brazil..
However who this is for remains to be seen.
I have a few people telling me its Moura,
Personally i find this true.
But i cannot be 100%

Cretins and the eMU,.
Aka Manchester United. {Ed012's Note - I have heard it is more just advanced scouting than any transfer negotiations}

Agree0 Disagree0

This is definitely happening. Representatives from both clubs are holding talks as we speak.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll die happy if this comes true :)

Agree0 Disagree0

If this happens., my heart will hit the ground.

This would rule out any reinforcements in CM, it would not immediately impact or improve our CM, and it has "£40m transfer to Real Madrid in 2-3yrs" written all over it.

If this happens, I do not look forward to next season, unless more are to come.

Manchester United have joined Manchester City in the race to sign Robin van Persie. United also want the Sao Paulo midfielder Lucas Moura, Benfica's Axel Witsel, and the Porto winger James Rodríguez.

Tottenham Hotspur are planning a spree, too: they are looking at the £11m-rated Internacional midfielder Oscar, Porto's João Moutinho, Lyon's goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, the Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen, and CZKA Moscow's midfielder Alan Dzagoev.

Reading are after Newcastle's defender Danny Simpson.

West Ham and Southampton want Jamie Mackie of QPR.

Swansea City's manager Michael Laudrup will go back to Mallorca for the defender Chico and midfielder Jonathan de Guzman.

Norwich City's manager Chris Hughton will return to Birmingham for the centre-back Curtis Davies.

And for the second day in a row, you may have noticed a pared-back style to the Mill. Well, you've got us bang to rights with that one. Yes sir, we've pruned them right back. Gone straight for the 8-ball, madam. But let's be honest, you only read the bits in bold anyway

The Rodrigo Alvarez to United rumour was a hoax. There is no Rodrigo Alvarez ;)

i hear over a week ago that RVP would sign for United and Citeh would get Zlatan !
First time post - very reliable source - it will happen
RVP attracted to Utd due to regular starts -

Believable12 Unbelievable16

Look im sick of the media saying were signing this lad and this lad were i n for someone different everday but the truth of the matter is we will be getting noneone we have no money tanx to yanks wi sh theyd f*** off back to america and play some american football and leave us alone

Agree0 Disagree0

LIES!

Agree0 Disagree0

He will sign for city, heard this about a month ago

Agree0 Disagree0

Me to heard a month ago we were going to get RVP. Don't shoot the messenger.

Redchad

Agree0 Disagree0

How would he get regular starts ? It seems likely it will be Rooney up top alone with kagawa behind him. And with welbeck and little pea as back up. Rvp would only hamper their progress. We will not sign him! There are more important areas to strengthen. RJ92

Agree0 Disagree0

Kagawa is maybe the LW everyone seems to think we will sign, leaving rooney in the no.10 roll and RVP as striker. Not a bad option IMO.

Fabs

Agree0 Disagree0

'Fabs'

Kagawa wont be played on the LW! Although he can play there and perhaps may cover for that position throughout the season, he will be played in a central attacking midfield role. Rooney will be pushed upfront again as he's so intelligent in front of goal.

RVP wont sign for us, 28 years of age. Will cost plenty on both wages and fee, we're just not that kind of club. Like SAF said earlier in the year "We don't buy proven goods, we devlop young talent".

Many of us see our problem.

LB cover for Evra.
Willems 6m had an awful Euros but has shown promise all season with PSV. A little competition for the former best LB in the EPL 2 seasons ago might give Evra the boost he needs. Plus I'm sure Willems won't kick up a fuss by not playing or getting on the bench every week.

LW cover for Nani/Young/Park.
We reportedly had an option on Iturbe. Left winger that moved from Agrentina to Porto.

CF with Berb & Mach possibly moving to Turkey we'll need cover. W.Keane looks a promising youngster but is out till Feb. Angelo Henriquez could be bought in as we have a 3m buy out inserted with his Club.

Do you see any of these players coming in?
All 18yrs old and have been scouted throughout the year by United.

Believable9 Unbelievable7

Yes, Many of us do see our problem, although you seem to have overlooked it completely.

Central midfield - depending on who you ask we wither need a ball winning destroyer, a possesion retaining playmaker or a more balanced bit-of-both player, or possibly two such players.

LB - with Fabio on loan, we certainly need cover, in case Evra is injured etc. if nothing else. could be an established player like Baines or a decent youngster.

LW - only needed really if Nani or Park leave.

FC - depends whether the rumours are true about SAF favouring one up front for the coming season with Kagawa/Young/Cleverly in the hole, if so, no CF needed. Otherwise, we may still not go for a big name, as they would block Welbeck and Hernandez from the playing time they need to progress. Berba may even end up staying, although I will be surprised if he does.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha yeah WTH? The problem is and has been the centre of midfield for past couple of years!

Man United have been in touch with Porto about 18yr old Argentine Left sided attacker Juan Manuel Iturbe. No bids for Gaitan (Benfica) or James Rodriguez (Porto) have been made just rumours from journalists putting 2&2 together and getting 5. Man United interested in an Argentine = Gaitan or a Porto LWinger = Rodriguez.

United have the option to buy Iturbe for €8 by the start of the season. They have already put €2 as down payment.

A work permit seems to be the only problem as he hasn't played for Argentina or enough games for Porto yet. How ironic that James Rodriguez is in his way. The same situation is happening with Angelo Henriquez. Both players might be bought with a loan move to the Netherlands or
Belgium for a whole season.

For around 10m we could have two promising South Americans join our first team 2013-14 season.

Believable14 Unbelievable4

I've wondered what the situation is with Iturbe. He really does look good for his age, and a left footed tricky player is what we could do with if Nani isn't around for much longer. Rodriguez would cost more than what he's worth i reckon..

I hope we make some sort of arrangement to bring in Iturbe, he's going to be Argentina's next big star proving he gets game time and a decent mentor which isn't what's happened at Porto. Remember reading his parents said he wasn't happy there because he was promised more first team action when he joined under AVB. But then he left and the new guy that came in was not so much into developing young talent. We need to rescue this kids career!

Is SAF signs lucas moura then it will be one hell of a signing.
Instead of going for 28 yr old RVP it is wise to throw extra cash for moura and get him.
united needs technical players.

ravi

Believable18 Unbelievable2

Kagawa...Valencia...they're pretty technical. What we need is some steal in our midfield! Someone to control the flow of the game, break up attacks and also create them. Players like Moura just want to attack and score spectacular goals...of course that has a place in any team, but for United at the minute we need to strengthen our midfield! Leave the flair to players like Kagawa, Valencia and Nani (if we keep him!)

No idea, last I heard we were in for Modric but I doubt that will happen in all honesty (tottenham have a habit of bending us over). Just a defender I'd imagine. Baines seems to be the one we are after judging by media, I personally haven't heard about Baines to United though. We'll probably sign a youngster or two. Fryer's is off to I think Spurs? Other than that nothing new all I know for certain is that United will not sign RVP 29 years old one good injury free season is not United are after a younger striker will pace and potential much more likely.

No, we cannot afford his wages of nearly 300k a week

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely no way I would think. The total package transfer cost/salary would be a bad investment.

Agree0 Disagree0

How can we gazump Man City...explain??

Simmo

Agree0 Disagree0

How can we gazump City? Quite straightforward really.
City are allegedly not willing to budge above £20M.
United are rumoured to be willing to go to £25M.

HOWEVER i dont believe a word of it. RvP is 28 so that puts him outside Uniteds buying policy. He is an injury waiting to happen and he'll want huge wages.
I will be nothing short of stunned if United even enter into the race to try to sign him

Agree0 Disagree0

Arrr sorry Mr. Chief Exec! I didn't know you had inside knowledge about what Man City and Man United were both bidding. If Man city wanted the player do you really think they would not pay the extra transfer and offer Van Persie more money?
The only way we will sign Van Persie is if he himself want's to come to Man United otherwise forget it.

Simmo

Agree0 Disagree0

He said 'allegedly' which means he's seen it in a source, you fool.
secondly if youve read in the media recently city are trying to cut their spending and wage bill to fit in with new fifa regulations about spending in relation to income

Ed002, can I ask you about Lucas Moura? Is it true United have moved to sign him recently. I understand there is massive interest from RM and Chelsea and this could drag on if he does become available. Also if Chelsea sin Hulk would that end the interest in Lucas at least for this summer? Thanks.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - "Moved to sign him" maybe rather more than correct. If he becomes available there will be interest from several clubs but for now he is not available. Chelsea have had a couple of bids rejected; Real Madrid offered a part exchange deal that was rejected; his agent still wants him to go to Inter in a complex part ownership deal; Manchester United could show an interest. If anything happens it will be dragged out for a while yet.}

Believable7 Unbelievable4

We do want to sign him, but I doubt it with cleverly and fletcher coming back to full fitness, and signing kagawa and Powell

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope we don't spend silly money on guys like him no matter how good they look in their league. Does anyone now when one was the last time a high prized/hyped Brazilian or South American for that say actually turned out to be good investment for anyone in the premiere league.

United's record is so bad with Veron, Kleberson, Anderson that I pray we don't do another one.

They are better suited for the Spanish and Italian league in every which way, climate, food, language and lifestyle.

I hope we buy any two of these guys Cabaye/Moutinho/Modric. They would be great and proven they can play in the premiere and champions league.

Remember we lost the league in the last minute on goal difference, don't need to go crazy and spend stupid money. If Vidic is back to decent from that will shore up our back four and with a little bit of creativity in the middle of the park we will be scary. 2 horse race city and utd and let's see how city cope if they get a few season long injuries to key players.

SAF is absolutely right when he says there is little value in the transfer market. Sorry for the rant

Agree0 Disagree0

We lost the league on GD by sheer good luck.
If you think the table reflected the quality of both squads id hazard a guess youre related to the Glazers.
If you think a returning 31 year old centre half and an ill Fletcher ad injury prone Cleverley is going to swing it our way i wish i lived on your planet.
The "no value" line is utter rot. Its like refusing to buy petrol because the price is so high.
The market is what it is thats why "no value" doesnt make sense

According to Ed002 on Chelsea's page, Willems is nailed to sign for us. Is it really nailed on?

Cult of Personality {Ed002's Note - There were about Jetro Willems back at the end of March and again in April and he is very much a target. Given he was seen as a raw talent and still very young I would think the end of next season was always going to be a better time to decide on a move, but his inclusion in the Euro squad has bought him to the attention of others. So a decision needs to me made now - possibly a loan back.}
