Ed002, you seem to have some good connections within the footballing community. There have been reports today that we have had Isco watched in his last four games, I know you've said previously that we haven't showed any interest in him. Has this changed recently or is this another case of press manipulation? Cheers. {Ed002's Note - Manchester United has not expressed any interest in the player with Malaga whilst talks continue with another club.}

I've been away the last few days, and now see the quotes from Sir Alex about a "big signing". just wondering if anybody knows for sure whether Sir Alex actually said this, or have the quotes been made up?

I surmise those who have MUTV will know? I'm still away from home so don't have access to MUTV right now.

Thanks in advance. Ps. let's hope by "big signing" he doesn't mean Dawn French "big" ;)

Yeah, the 'big' signing could be a new deal for Anderson.

We may go for a top player, ” said Ferguson, whose side won the Premier League crown with four games to spare. “That’s possible. We’ve got a nucleus of young players but we may spend something, you know.

“I think with top players it doesn’t matter what position they play in. I think if I get a top player in, it adds to the team and it improves it.

“Last season, we had Chicharito, Danny Welbeck and Wayne Rooney but still went for Van Persie. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.

“We won the league because we had a strong squad in terms of numbers and I think we should add to it. ”
is the quote.

On a side note my work colleague. a Porto fan, is certain we will be in for one of their players. {Ed004's Note - Could be any of Mangala, Sandro, Moutinho, Rodriguez or Martinez}

Don't think Martinez would be a serious target although I do rate him. Alex Sandro? I rate him better than Buttner but don't know if he'd be a serious target. Surely it'd have to be between Moutinho and Rodriguez.

I was thinking with SAF's comments in mind that he's basically stating a new midfielder would be ideal but if we can bring in a top top player whether that's Bale or brining Ronnie back etc then we wouldn't necessarily need a CM.

Would prefer it to be Rodriguez than Moutinho!

Gareth Bale. Perhaps that's why SAF is putting a weak side out against Cheslea, so Spurs are the ones to miss out on Cl football. ;)

Sorry if my last post suggested that the Porto, possible signing, may be the BIG acquisition. The three names she thinks may be of interest are Mangala, Rodriguez or Sandro.

Agree0 Disagree1

It wasn't exactly a weak side, we already know the reason why anderson, buttner, lindegaard all featured
