With obertan going out of united this year anybody think he will be a good signing for this fantasy football :)

Believable7 Unbelievable7

Hi, im a newcastle fan and i was wondering what you guys think of Obertan?
Only seen him play a couple of times and he looks fast but doesnt seem to have much else.

Josh

Believable10 Unbelievable1

I actually think he has a lot of potential, he's very skillful, fast and has one he'll of a strike on him but he is very, very inconsistent Regular playing time would really help him develop Carl

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a great player but he didn't get much playing time with united. Scored
A very good goal againist bursapor tho. Might play well with first team experience. Be prepared to be frustrated tho. Jason mc

Agree0 Disagree0

Has potential, but generally has been very poor since joining united. Good quick feet, but never finds that finishing shot or cross

Agree0 Disagree0

He is uniteds 2nd ever worst player after bebe

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm glad that newcastle have him as he is a terrible footballer

Agree0 Disagree0

He has great feet and for some reason it is hilarious to watch him run and do step-overs. He'd probably be a good player if there was any sort of end product.
T0MB0Z

Agree0 Disagree0

He was one of our best reserve players last year had a good pre season in US very quick can shoot from range... The only problem is he lacks confidence with the first team a few people here were saying a loan deal might do him good

Agree0 Disagree0

Lacks confidence and awareness but has raw ability. When he plays for the reserves he looks quality however he's not good enough for our 1st team.

He will find his feet given enough game time. Could be a good signing perhaps even a bargain. £3m isnt that much of a gamble.

Stockie

Agree0 Disagree0

This guy is Speedy Gonzales.... So quick he actually runs past the ball.... Hope he plays against Man Utd :-).... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

Terrible final decison with the ball, poor passing over 5-10 yards and not a great crosser. However, will definastely get behind opposing full backs and whip the ball in for the toon. Will prob get a few assists and a few goals so for £3m good for the Toon. Good to have him of our wage bill though

Agree0 Disagree0

The Guy has great potential, in fairness his final ball is poor but with games he will develope like Nani. He's quick, can skin people and can score, he had a lethal pre season and I think he'll be a very good player in a season or two

Agree0 Disagree0

He's obviously a very good footballer, he would not be where he is today if he wasnt but its just not happened for him at utd and as said before its proberbly just a confidence thing...maybe a move to a mid table club will be good for him as he will get games and be able to focus his game...good luck to the guy , hope he does well :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Reminds me of those robots from the film I-Robot with Will Smith :) decent player though and could be a star for Newcastle if he plays regularly

Vincenzo Perrotti has been tweeting all night about the Sneijder deal. Heres the highlights:

The bid is on the table and Inter are likely to act on it Monday, whether it be a re-negot. or acceptance. INTER NOT IN A POSITION TO REJECT

Sneijder is keen to push a move through to MUFC not MCFC. He said that Sneijder and his wife have known about this all summer and discussed

So here's how it stands. PERSONAL TERMS ARE AGREED. Long have been since Sneijders agent met Gill and SAF when in London after West Ham

Wesley Sneijder's extravagant pay demands apparently will prevent the Dutch international from completing his desired move to the Premier League.

Neither Manchester City nor Manchester United consider it viable to match the playmaker's £200,000 (Dh1.2 million) basic weekly wage at Inter Milan as well as paying a transfer fee of £30m to £35m to the Serie A club.

United ended their long-standing interest in Sneijder following a series of unsuccessful attempts to structure a financial package that would fit the player into their carefully controlled wage structure.

With Sneijder's after-tax salary standing at £5.25m and substantial bonuses on top, David Gill, the chief executive, has declared an end to the negotiations.

City also wanted Sneijder, entering discussions with the player's representatives about a transfer. Yet despite having a pay ceiling capable of accommodating Carlos Tevez's hefty salary, they have declared the overall cost of a move prohibitive and focused efforts elsewhere.

This was Duncan Castles big announcement he also went on to stay Juan Mata also harbours that man united may look into buying him as the sneijder deal failed

PRR8

Believable6 Unbelievable10

Really can't see them pulling out still believe he will be a UNITED player by thursday, he will be with the dutch squad in england on wednesday and will have medical and sign contract on thursday 35m Fee & 190k a Week +Bonuses

Please guys this is cut and paste at its glowing best. I suggest you all read the latest posted articles on Twitter/Internet which now clearly show that Sneijder has agreed terms with Utd, both he and his wife happy to move and medical will be on Thursday after England match. Deal done. PRR* on this occasion guy even City had the decency to come out and deny the rumour. As for Duncan Castle he survives on Twitter with crumbs he gets off people and more often than not as proved here makes a pigs ear of it. Just chill and enjoy Thursday.

Seeing as Milan love their old folks in the squad does anyone think that it be worth a cheeky bid for pato, offerin berbatov plus cash (10 to 15m) ?

Believable10 Unbelievable6

I don't think we would ever get him that cheap around 40m+

Agree0 Disagree0

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Berbs and Ibra would be the laziest front two ever. They would never go for that deal. Maybe if they hadn't just paid for Ibra and we offered £25m + Berbatov?

Pathetic rumour of Shi*ty and Sneijder. He scored a great goal but they lost. The loss doesn't define his future at Inter nor does the goal define he is staying. There is yet to be heard of United actually going for him. United is being patient on who they will pursue because the papers are f'ckin it up.

Believable12 Unbelievable4

Its not the papers mucking things up, its Gill and fergusons reluctance to spend big on one superstar thats the problem

Sneijder reportedly went straight down the tunnel after the Milan derby iwithout collectting his runners up medal. Not a happy camper it seems.

Believable11 Unbelievable1

Ye i saw that aswell although who wants a losers medal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe becos he'd just lost u also didnt mention the stunning free kick and embracing the inter bench afterwards see everything with wide eyes not just what the eyes what to see

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep watched the match sneijder was no where to be seen when inter collected there medals

Agree0 Disagree0

He may of embraced the inter team but did I not see Tevez doing that before he leaves or puts in a transfer request with all the teams he's been with... I just don't think sneidjer would be happy recieving a runners up medal... Hopefully now that game is finished he will sign for united now

Agree0 Disagree0

That isn't even enough indication he will be leaving. Maybe this loss will change his mind to come to United. I'm not sure but this literally means nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully he will come 'cos since ages ago we've 'ad a wesley at united and now he's gone to that Sunderland, getting a new wesley would be wicked Booyaa

I still believe Nasri should be the main focus. Literally putting foot out the door. Sh*ty might be the club rumoured around him but United should snatch him.

Believable14 Unbelievable0

Tottally agree man, wud much rather see him in a utd jersey rather than sneijder. If we can afford to pay 30m+ for sneijder then we shudnt hesitate to pay that for him

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2011 14:33:27
From what I've read...these Sneijder to City rumours are complete rubbish. Sky Sports and the Guardian are saying there is no truth in it along with Man City themselves.

It will be interesting to see Sneijder's reaction to the fans at the end of the Super Cup game, currently being played now.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

This has a smell of inter using the italian press to trying to frighten United into a deal to me

With all the rumours and Managers quotes,..Berbatov will be sold in this window.
He will be 31 after 5 months, we are getting offers for him and worst of all he is on a final year of contract, do u guys think he will be allowed to leave for free next season after all we have spent almost £30M.I dont think so, yes he could be handful for contributing goals this season, may be 15+,but we wont get another chance of £15M+ for him in next window.
He will be sold before 1 september, along with Gibson,Kuszczak.

DC_9

Believable14 Unbelievable2

Man Utd have the option of extending his contract by 1 year after this season

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he'll be sold aswell.

I can't see him breaking himself back into the starting eleven because the partnership between Rooney and Chicharito is too good.

Welbeck has been told he'll play an important role at United this season. If we don't sign a midfielder to replace Scholes, I can see Cleverley getting alot of games this season aswell.

Talks between City and Inter have been taking place for the past few days and this is true. They are hot favourites to sign him now. But does this mean they have lost out on Nasri? Or do they want both? Sorry lads but it seems Sneijder will end up at City unless we take City on.

Sydney!

Believable1 Unbelievable17

Oh dear sydney,...
City wants Sneijder agreed, but do u think Sneijder wants a move to city.??

If the player doesn`t want a move,Club cannot force him.Look what happened with Sanchez.

And i think If this matter goes for a week or so,Sneijder will come out and say he does not want to go to city.
And this will be an Insult for the 2nd time in 40 DAYS.

City are just Embarrassing themselves,..
If Sneijder wants a move to England,it will either be to Chelsea or Manchester United.

No worries...

DC_9

Agree0 Disagree0

If this be the case then i say good luck to him and I hope he enjoys the money.... He certainly won't enjoy watching UTD winning the title again.

Sydney - who do you think is our most realistic target now.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

'HERBIE'

I really don't know mate, the obvious one's are Nasri & Modric. But would love to see Kagawa. Or even a defensive player like Moussa Sissoko or M'Vila.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

This was a rumour from the media over Italy. It's no different to the rumours that get put in our papers over here.

I don't think Sneijder will go City. I think Nasri will but Sneijder, no.

Agree0 Disagree0

If the Sneijder/City rumours are true then Nasri has to be the best bet, Fergie should offer £25 million. I like Sissoko, he really is a Viera type player, he can also get further up the field to attack, still young and would cost about £15 million.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

Chill guys, the Sneijder deal is done and hes coming to us. As I have been saying for the last 3wks the deal is done and will be announced this next week. All sorted just relax and of course City would try and hi-jack this Transfer but they have failed. Surprised at you Syd, felt sure you would know about this.

Manchester City have denied bidding £31.4m for Inter Milan's Wesley Sneijder after reports surfaced in an Italian newspaper.

Believable15 Unbelievable0

The bookies now have City as joint favourites to sign him though. Perhaps we should get Evra to have another word with Nasri.

Agree0 Disagree0

The end result of this agent/media generated nonsense over the past few months has literally caused me to metamorphasize from a Wesley Sneijder fan into someone that has nothing but contempt for him. That's a little sad really.

MAN UTD NEWS

Sneijder...Probably the most talked about player from Utd fans. Will it happen? probably not. To be honest we should be focusing our attentions on Gotze and Kagawa. Gotze:Fast,Creative and Intelligent. Kagawa:Goalscoring Midfielder which Utd have never really had unless you look at Scholes. We should try to tie up a 55M deal for them next year as we have spent alot this year so we should wait till next year...

Believable5 Unbelievable14

06 Aug 2011 12:31:01
"No truth in Sneijder reports.
Italian reports wrongly claim Man City have deal in place.
Inter have repeatedly denied talks are being held with any Premier League club over Sneijder, and insist it will take a "non-refusable" offer to tempt them to sell." -SSN
T0MB0Z

Believable7 Unbelievable1

There is no deal in place, but they are certainly trying to sign him. United, Malaga and now City have all held talks with Inter. But the reports that City have signed Sneijder are incorrect.

06 Aug 2011 12:26:57
Stop panicing, the rumours have been denied by Inter and Sneijder won't be joining City. There was a lot of talk in the stands at OT last night regarding Sneijder, the reliable press are pointing towards a deal being done. Also with Sir Alex being so coy on the matter it does feel like something is going to happen. Just give it some time and relax. With regards to last night, Young looked bright, De Gea seemed relaxed, Jones was comfortable on the ball (when he came on). Pogba was very exciting, good control on the ball, made tackles, linked up well and could see and make good passes. Wellbeck looked sharp (apart from when he ran into Macheda, lol). I also hope Diouf stays and gets some Carling Cup games, he's a tidy finisher and I think could be a handy player to keep if he gets the chance to get his eye in. I hope my progress report is useful :)

Believable18 Unbelievable0

I see SAF has come out and said Berba to be sold is nonsense.
Good on you Fergie, I think we need Berba he gives us something different up front has the best first touch at the club and is great at holding the ball up and bringing the midfield into the attack.
I would rather have Berba playing for us than Owen, Welbeck, Macheda or Diouf any day of the week.
I know he has a lazy style but surely we knew that when we bought him from Spurs.
We can't rely on Hernandez sitting on the last defender all the time, any decent defence will justt sit deep to counter that.

Red Daz.

Believable9 Unbelievable5

I'll agree he gives us a different option up front, with a great first touch The only thing that annoys me about him is the amount of chances he misses He gets into really good areas but misses hat-fulls of chances

Agree0 Disagree0

I like Berbatov and agree he was purchased to break open stubborn defenses, teams that will try to protect a 0.0 draw. But it is highly unlikely Berbatov will be a United player next season.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Fergie will have lost it big time if he keeps berba
His 15m fee and hundred grand a week far better spent

Agree0 Disagree0

And who you gonna buy for 15M who is as good as Berba, nobody

Red Daz.

Agree0 Disagree0

@Red Daz

No one this season for forward.
We will do with Rooney,Chicha,Owen,Welbeck,Mecheda and diouf.

Next season we could get Erik Torres..

Believable6 Unbelievable13

It's time to go for less injury prone, less greedy players. This obsession for WS is nonsense. Great in World cups, ordinary in club football. Please look at his stats since he left Ajax, one top season at Inter (2009-2010).The Real seasons and last season were riddled with injuries and average at best performances when fit. They spend a lot of money for the club.
They have just spent about £50M on Jones, De Gea & Young.
And now you are moaning because they won't spend another £30M - £40M an a VERY overrated player.
You would moan at ManC if they spent £90M in one transfer window.

first thing i thought was would wesley want a move to city though? hopefully this is where he comes out and says united is where he wants to finish his career

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - It would certainly suit me.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do you think United have the sole rights to pursue Schneider? This hysteria over transfers is crazy. If SAF wants a player, he will make his move, if the player wants to come, then a deal is done at the price agreed between the clubs. SAF rarely misses (sure Ozil got away, but that was the player's choice)

Agree0 Disagree0

As it stands then does it look like city will sign both nasri and sneijder? tom17

Believable2 Unbelievable20

I have just had the article from Gazzetto dello sport translated. It doesn't make a lot of sense but it basically says that city have paid 36 mill for Sneijder. 6 mill more than we were willing to pay and this makes more economic sense for all parties. So yeh I think they will sign both. How and where they are going to fit all these players in is beyond me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jus cos its written in one newspaper doesnt mean it will happen lol how many papers have you read that say he's united bound? stop panicking

MUMBAI_BOY {Ed002's Note - Not yet but I suspect he will on Monday or Tuesday - permanently.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

This is bad news then, we should have loaned him for a season before selling him.

MUMBAI_BOY

Agree0 Disagree0

Ob don't have the mental side for us a loan no good good luck to him at newcastle

Agree0 Disagree0

Not really mate, we have sent Bebe to Turkey for two years and now selling Obertan, Giggs has retired from the wing so this means we are likely to keep Nani now. We cannot get rid of three wingers and sell Nani.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

So sydney are u suggesting that Obertan's departure is good as it increases our chances of retaining NANI?

MUMBAI_BOY

Agree0 Disagree0

Pretty much mate. United listened to offers for Nani in June and I believe we were going to sell him to fund the Sanchez deal and now he has moved to Barcelona we will keep Nani, but Ed002 believes he could still be out the door this summer. Obviously by us getting rid of two wingers and Giggs retiring to central midfield, it would be ridiculous to get rid of Nani now as well.

Sydney!
