Guy's Kristof Terreur Belguim Journalist who is based in England as he follows all the Belgian lads here and writes for Belguim's main paper he is very reliable when it comes to Belguian players was first to report Chadli to Spurs and kept Chelsea fans in the loop with what was happening with De Bruyne, Has said we are close to a deal for Fellaini he is throughly reliable so looks like we are getting Fellaini.

Manred

Believable45 Unbelievable12

And I for one will be very happy. Katef

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he would be a good signing.

Simmo

Agree0 Disagree2

I hope not I don't think he's any better than what we've already got and I would rather see youngsters like larnell cole get a chance I know larnell ain't the biggest but he looks like he could be a good little playmaker given a chance

Agree1 Disagree1

Fellaini would be a good acquisition as long as Moyes plays him as a defensive MF. Time to bring some of the youth through; Lingard, Januzaj, Zaha etc

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently Fellani has been in the bars of Manchester telling everyone he's going to sign for united.

Agree1 Disagree0

Always said he'd be good for us. Tall, great in the air, can pass, tackle.
He wil add a physical and arial threat which we lack

Melwing28

Agree0 Disagree0

Was inevitable really. Linked with Fabregas, Ronaldo, Modric, but end up with the wig.

Agree4 Disagree0

Great. More depth, not a guaranteed starter though, which is what we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

Decent player but the real test is would Bayern, Real, Barcelona or even Chelsea want him!

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't be happy about this at all!i don't think Feilaini is near good enough!hes big nn strong but he can't pass a ball for peanuts!i mean he's not the type of player to sit in midfield and
spread passes and play technical football!hes very slow and to be honest he fouls more players than he does win the ball cleanly!he just doesn't suit our style of play!what we have is better!the only reason why people keep linking feilaini with us is because Moyes was Everton mgr!I have said this before if we buy the likes of him, we smell of desparation!it would be like buying Andy Carroll and sticking him in midfield!

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellini will defo not be signing for man united. He lives in the Manchester area and is often seen out and about in the city centre. Just before he flew out to the USA with everton he was asked whilst shopping in the city centre with Kevin mirrillas and his wife if he would be joining by a united fan in a shirt and said no. Thing change, but to me he seemed pretty sure!

Agree0 Disagree0

I understand people not liking this, with the players we were being link to. Defence mid-field player is what we need and this is the position he pays very well.

The main thing is this is where he wants to play so if we can get him and another decent midfield player we hopefully should be ok

Agree0 Disagree0

So Fellaini is the marque signing Ed Woodward has taken a month to sign. Don't get me wrong he's good on the day but he's hot and cold. Would rather have been surprised with Ronny, Bale or Fab.

Coups

Agree1 Disagree0

I think it will add something to the squad. If we can get Fabregas as well, I will be very happy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just what we need IMO, a tall, strong and a good aerial threat.

Agree0 Disagree0

He was always going to be instead of Strootman I think. I just hope Strootman doesn't turn out to be another Witsel. Go to Roma for a year and then become hot property. For Roma to pay what they have for Strootman says it all. They are usually very tight with their cash. I wouldn't completely rule out a move for Mirallas either. He would be a good signing. He would do well as a left forward. Completely tore Liverpool apart last season from that position until Suarez took him out of the game with an ankle stamp. Fellaini, Mirallas & Baines would be £50m well spent. Would still need that creative midfielder mind. Come on MU, let's get Cesc.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Pleasing to the ear, fellaini, will offer a bit of bite,

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope not, if that's the standard of player we can now attract, doesn't bode well, he may be adequate by Everton standards, but we aren't Everton.

Still, I suppose the fact we've beaten off the likes of Bayern, Real, Barca, Juve and Shi. why to sign him must mean something right?!lol.

Stinks of desperation.

Charla

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see where some of the posters on here come from when they say Fellaini is not what we need, because the majority (like us all) want to see nothing but the best arrive at OT. Yes Fabregas is the type we crave to fill that gap but its extremely difficult to get that standard of player who everyone wants, funnily enough including the existing employers. BUT being a realist this 'WIG' will be a good addition, he has something that we don't have in the middle and that's power and dominance, as he has proven time again when playing us, we have never been able to contain him and that speaks volumes! Give him a chance and let him prove the Doubters wrong, hopefully.

Ren

Agree1 Disagree0

Syd. I've been saying the same thing for a good few months now. The only thing is I don't think we will sign cesc. Think we might get someone else in jan.

Joe. a

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes said yesterday that he hopes a few players to come in by the time we face Wigan so that could mean we've secretly almost finished or have finished deals for Fellaini, Fabregas and Baines?

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree1

Everton fan in peace. Fellaini cannot play defensive mid which is why Gibson has been playing there the last two seasons for us. He does not have the positional knowledge required to play there and does not track runners. Look at the first goal we conceded against Leeds in the Carling Cup last season as a prime example. He tends to hold hands with the two central defenders and nod away goal kicks straight into the area that he should be patrolling. His forward passing is also extremely poor (unlike Gibson's).

His best position is ahead of a holding midfielder as some form of advanced presser. If you want to choke teams in the middle and have all your threat coming from the wings (like Everton with Pienaar/Baines Mirallas/Coleman) then he can work in that system. If you want free flowing penetrative football from central midfield then you better hope Cesc changes his mind because Fellaini is not your man.

Agree1 Disagree0

Peaceful Everton fan, good post. I think MF would play alongside Carrick, maybe even a little further forward rather than behind. Not sure if we'll get him but I like him, physical, useful at set pieces and proven in the PL. Hope we get Cesc too though.

Looks like moyes is now doing all his transfer work quietly now. Either that or they have stopped! Apparently a press conference will be held on Thursday so that will be interesting!

Believable22 Unbelievable9

Fellaini will be class for us. I can't understand anyone saying otherwise.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, what we have been missing, let's see
Toure bully our midfield then.

hi all, gooner here.
just wanted to share some info. I played from 12 till 15 years of age for the east of scotland select teams with darren fletcher. even though we never kept in contact a friend of mine who played with us did. he spoke to him at the weekend and fletcher said that from what he's gathered moyes believes the squad is good enough to win the league and that the only players he's targeting are the worlds elite ie fabregas and surely others and will not be going for players that are only a slight upgrade on what you already have. just wondered if you's thought this could backfire seeing as these calibre of players are so hard to sign.

Believable7 Unbelievable28

The only reason we won leagues and cups in the last few years was cause of Alex. The United Team is not as good as others in the league (hard to say but true). The team would have died on the pitch for him and the last 10 mins and extra time were renowned for us winning. Now is Moyes time and he is stupid if he thinks we can win with what we have.

Agree1 Disagree0

Thought it strange myself because even players like baines and fellaini who are not the top players in the world would significantly strengthen what is imo your weakest positions. also can't believe he wouldn't sign anyone in his first window if his no 1 targets aren't available.

Oddly, tonight's formation is the same formation I was talking about earlier. Although I had Welbeck instead of Nani. Kagawa & Cesc instead of Giggs & Anderson. And of course Baines instead of Evra.

Nani has looked very good today, I would rather keep him than sell him for £8.5m and not replace him. He doesn't get on with Rooney, but if Rooney isn't here.

Sydney!

Believable16 Unbelievable7

Syd, iv been a reader for last 2 years but never posted, idealy i'd love to see onfield what you have in your head, but do you teally believe we'll get fab and baines?

Agree0 Disagree0

If that's the case Syd regarding Nani, then expect the next 5/6 performances to be poor

Melwing28

Agree0 Disagree0

Cesc isn't coming and nani has looked good for half an hour a few times but never strings that together over 90 mins let alone a season

Dustbin

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think we can afford to sell Nani at the moment. That would leave us with Young and Valencia which is not good enough IMO. As you say, if we sell we HAVE to replace him with another winger.

TK-Red

Agree1 Disagree0

I think Nani will be more confident and consistent under Moyes. Not that it was SAF's fault before, just a fresh start for Nani will psychologically help him out. Having that nasal surgery will probably help him keep it up over 90 minutes.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

As inconsistent as nani is, young is worse and valencia works awfully hard but his end product is not there. He is the only winger capable of scoring 10 goals and getting 10 assists for us during the season. Zaha is still raw and needs atleast a season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep it was good to see nani looking sharp and bright!he looked a threat everytime he got the ball, something I couldn't say for Valencia or young all last season!i think Nani can be terrific!and as Ozwald says, Nani may flourish under Moyes with a fresh start. If I'm honest Nani was our best player v Real Madrid in CL last season until he got sent off!id rather keep him,

SuperRed

Agree1 Disagree1

Agree Sydney Nani looked very good and we all know on his day he is outstanding and now we have a new man in charge he may perform with the consistence we need, would be nice to see him Kagawa Zaha and RvP and Carrick and a new addition we would look very dangerous we do have a new man in the form of Zaha and I do think he will give the team a boost no matter who leaves and who comes in. Katef

Agree0 Disagree0

I would sell nani if we can get close to9 million for him he's got to be the most stupid player football wise to play for utd in my lifetime. I would give adnan janzujaj (spelling) and zaha more game time rather than waste it on nani and to the people who say he's better than young are persons at least young knows when to cross and shoot most of the time

Agree0 Disagree1

I would also be inclined to give Nani another go this season. If he had a decent season it would bring his value back up also. There is no way he is only worth 9 million at his age. He is just as good as Di Maria and how much would Madrid demand for him? Also at the risk of getting shot down. apart from Djemda Djemba and Bebe I think Ashley Young is one of the worst and most disappointing players ever to play for us. He offers nothing and I do believe the only reason he will still be with us next this season is because no premier league club would touch him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great. Now Sydney has us pushing out one of the best players the club has ever had for Nani.

Agree0 Disagree0

I for one was pleased with Nani, and hope we keep him and can get him to sign a new contract, as fit and happy he could be like a new signing he has pace, can take people on and and has an eye for goal

Agree0 Disagree0

I just think Nani is more important than a mere £8.5m. Then subtract his 5% and we are receiving around £7m. Nani or £7m? I think we should keep him until Zaha has had a season to bed in.

I am not sure we will get Cesc, but that is my thinking on the formation. And Moyes went with the exact formation. I think it will work well with the right personnel.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

KG, I'm not pushing anyone out, but if you open your eyes you will see that Rooney is highly likely to leave. I have been saying this is a possibility for years. However it's not my decision to let him go. SAF was always going to have the last laugh when it came down to Rooney. SAF has not forgiven him for 2010.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Irishlad r your having a laugh surley young is a quality player yeah he had a poor season last year but he was quality in his first season till he got injured in the 2nd half of the season. When was the last time nani actually played the right ball let alone played well! Nani is an person and we all know it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Completetly agree, Young was class in his first season and has been very unfortunate with a string of injuries of late.
To say he's one of the worst you've seen is ridiculous.

I've heard that in a weeks time Manchester United fans won't be so fed up with transfer business. This is because moyes expects to announce atleast one maybe two signings on rios testimonial on Friday or the latest Monday. Don't shoot the messenger but that's what I heard.

Believable23 Unbelievable47

I reckon it will be ronny

Agree5 Disagree2

Has to be ronaldo I reckon

Agree6 Disagree1

That's what people have been saying. No doubt it will get pushed later and later until the 2nd of September and then we still won't have signed anyone.

Ronaldo has signed a new deal with Madrid so there goes that plane.

Coups.

Agree0 Disagree10

Coups Ronaldo hasn't signed a contract, it was a made up rumour and Ronaldo himself has denied it. Also when asked on "the arrival of bale" he didn't want to know and seems a move to utd could be on the cards. Also the ex real president has admitted utd has held talks with real and Ronaldo! So let's see if Ronaldo is presented, I 4 1 think he will.

Agree5 Disagree0

Only yesterday Ronaldo was quoted as saying his future is still uncertain. Marca is the origin of the new contract signing reports and they're hardly the most reliable source now are they.

Agree3 Disagree0

I wouldn't be too optimistic. I still believe this 'Big August 8th Announcement' will be that Ronaldo is coming home for one night only to play in Rio's testimonial game. Unles Usain Bolt's convinced Moyes to give him a contract haha

Agree3 Disagree2

I wouldn't be too optimistic. I still believe this 'Big August 8th Announcement' will be that Ronaldo is coming home for one night only to play in Rio's testimonial game. Unles Usain Bolt's convinced Moyes to give him a contract haha

Agree0 Disagree2

It does seem to me that everyone is panicking about lack of transfers apart from United.

Other than the failrly relaxed bids for Fabregas and Baines, I don't believe we have put in any offers for Thiago or anyone else we have been linked with this summer. Its like we are luring everyone into a false sense of security then BAM! It feels like somethings going to happen that will blow everyone away.

Agree6 Disagree1

I just don't see why Moyes and Woodward have been making so much noise with regards to their confidence and ability to sign people if they're not actually going to sign anyone. People need to chill we still have til the end of August, plenty of things can happen in that time.

Agree2 Disagree0

I kept reading these types of messages, last week was Ronaldo would be sorted by Tuesday (today). People need to get real, big players ain't attracted to us as they were before and we certainly don't have the financial power we used to. Just pray our secondary targets want to come!

Agree3 Disagree4

RVP wanted to play for United over City. Same was true with Berbatov. De Gea didn't go after Barcelona callings. Recent stories that says united can still attract and keep good players!

Agree4 Disagree1

Fed up hearing signings are imminent, thiago, Garay, fabregas, ronny, I want a real signing, this is poor, at the end of the season people were saying the window isn't open yet, well it's nearly shut!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are people saying there is still a few weeks to go before the transfer window closes? That is no good to UTD, we need our players signed and settled for the start of the Premier League. It is no good coming in if we get of to a bad start and have to play catch up. I have a feeling if City or Chelsea get a head start we won't catch them.

Agree1 Disagree0

Haha the transfer widow is nearly shut? It's just gone past the halfway point mate!

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Fabregas and Baines

Agree0 Disagree0

It isn't nearly shut. We're just past half way through. Still for a guy feeling something jig is going to happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's not get too excited its more than likely baines and felanni rather than cesc and ronnie.

Dufferz

Agree2 Disagree0

Gutterpunkbean, you thought your post was so funny you wrote it twice haha!ye I feel the announcement could be that Fergie will manage the game and Ronny will come back for on night only!thats if Real allow him to play. I for one would love to see him back for good. even though he says he's uncertain where his future lies at the moment, still can't see it happening this window!Bale hasn't gone to Real either so maybe hel be offered a new contract, who knows what's going to happen and I will only believe it if I see him pictured with a utd jersey on again,

SuperRed

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope it is true but I have to say that disillusioned is a word that springs to mind. It is taking a long time to get anywhere. I worry that if midfield is yet again not addressed, we will struggle to maintain possession of the ball against the classier teams.

Agree1 Disagree0

Only two names coming in baines and fallaine that be all get over it guys Ronnie won't becoming fab that a big joke just making united look good I've took a bet on top 4 clubs 1 Chelsea 2nd man city 3rd man u 4th spurs

Agree1 Disagree3

I don't think ronny will become fab, that would be like messi becoming bale. Pretty silly. Thanks for divulging your hot tip of a bet though, I can rest easy knowing I'll be a millionaire nextseason by following you. Have you ever considered doing a column in the newspaper? Mdc

Agree0 Disagree0

Press conference THURSDAY! Big news & that has come from within the club VERY reliable source.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the people saying that this big announcement may just be ronaldo coming back for one game I was just wondering if this can actually happen? Are there any rules or anything to say it can't or is it up to real?

JS

Agree0 Disagree0

Well after another poor performance tonite against aik we could well do with a decent midfielder or 2 and a decent striker to play with rvp

Agree0 Disagree0

If we are honest we won a pretty poor Premier League last season. Our midfield was poor and we struggled against the better teams. The recalls for Scholes and Giggs were a measure of how poor we were in midfield.
Moyes will have known that and must have had a clearly developed strategy when he was appointed. I don't think he's into playing games and Fabregas really is our main target. If he doesn't want to come then Plan B is looking a bit thin. If Rooney goes, as I hope he does, then money will not be the issue. The real problem is who can we sign that will improve our team. Lots of ideas but time is short for players to bed in before we are in to serious games.

Agree1 Disagree1

We should offer Rooney for Mata, and have done with it.

Agree2 Disagree0

Just been thinking. If Ronaldo plays at Rios testimonial then it could be an indication that there is a deal in the offing. Why would Real let him come to Old Trafford where he could have a nice cosy chat with United about a move. If they where determined to keep him then there's not a chance they would let him even near Old Trafford where he could get his ear bent.

Because:
1. he is not fit
2. in his head he does not want to play

Agree2 Disagree2

I think we should still be able to win the CS, so it shouldn't be too much an issue tbh.
RumourNo. 1

Agree3 Disagree0

I read moyes was going to play a second string really hope not I was looking forward the cs
Jred

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Moyes will want to win the CS pretty badly it will be his first trophy no matter how piddling it is

Agree2 Disagree0

Roumorno. 1
I THINK we should b able to win the cs. serious wer the champions of England no changes to our squad have been made except scholes out and zaha in and a few youth players breaking through and wer playin Wigan with no Martinez tactics. we by far have the best squad In the league with or without Rooney we will win it. think positive pal united we stand.

We can't even beat AIK!we don't look good at all, preparation has been poor in my eyes!does Moyes even know his first team yet because in my eyes they havnt played ina game together yet!
